Quoted from rai:

Never talked to anyone from Luxembourg. What language do you guys speak?

Luxembourgish.

Quoted from CoinTaker:

The sad thing is what John told me as why Ben was no longer part of the project.

That Ben gets things done ? Can't have a man like that on board.

Quoted from ZenTron:

The only big show I went to last year was Southern Fried Gaming Expo and I saw neither AMH or Wooly.

It is impossible for any manufacturer to hit every show.

If you want to see them at a show you are attending. Have the organizers get in touch with the manufacturer and see what is needed to make it happen.

Might be freight for game(s) free room or something. But find out what it would take.

Quoted from frolic:

Was only a matter of time.

If I read that right. $30,000.00

And that is the tip of the iceberg.

Quoted from jlm33:

These guys have shown their ability to produce a game on the same scale

There were four different groups involved. I don't even remember who. First one, then Bearcave, then another, and then Kerry Stair was involved and did in fact get them done.

A heck of a lot of volunteers, no assembly line, the rules changed along the way. But they did get them done.

I don't think any involved in that have the money, or want, to do it again.

Quoted from benheck:

Well that's how John sounded about JJP or Stern anytime they came up "Oh, they should be hiring REAL designers..."

Sadly that seems to be a recurring theme with John.

And it seems JJP and Stern did just that.

Quoted from greatwichjohn:

Possibly a unpaid vendor could put a lien or repo order out & get it seized at the show.

Bingo.

#12456 8 years ago
Quoted from TigerLaw:

Im not sure if it is a good idea to keep it unthemed. JJP may last minute license it

Impossible to do that late in development. With all the changes in art work, programming, video, etc. etc. It would delay the game a year or more.

And Pat didn't want to do a license.

Quoted from txstargazer3:

I think JJP should have a strong licensed #4 ready to release on the heels of Pat Lawlor's game. Not an easy thing to do, but possible.

JJP does. Strong designer too.

Exciting times for pinball.

Quoted from txstargazer3:

I don't know what happened there. I quoted the LTG post and it came up with the Cointaker Avatar!

Hostile takeover ?

I can't figure out how to delete a post anymore...

You never could.

You can edit, erase what you wrote. Only a moderator or Robin can delete a post.

Quoted from Join_The_Cirqus:

So.... Is it Brian???

No idea. Nobody ever tells me anything. I'm always the last to know.

Which works out great. If something is leaked. It wasn't me.

#12489 8 years ago
Quoted from TomGWI:

That is weird. In the quotes, it shows you quoted Cointaker but it was LTG.

dgarrett just quoted herbertbsharp and it came up as quoting me ?

Quoted from lllvjr:

but there's a FORCE to be done on game four!

That's it. Game four is Force Ten From Navarone !

#12637 8 years ago
Quoted from toyotaboy:

Charlie comments how this hurt the hobby

I've wondered about this.

From 1999 ( Williams closing ) a lot of people have worked hard to get pinball to where it is today.

No way to measure it. But this has had an effect on pinball.

Quoted from lowepg:

Was this entire endeavor built around a name and pretty artwork??

When I look at the picture of the playfield from the flipper point of view looking back. All I could think of was when CV was closed out.

He better have remembered to turn off the tape recorders. Otherwise his ramblings may become exhibits in court one day!

Perhaps the ramblings will be in the "missing" 18 1/2 minutes.

seems like John should get a good paying job somewhere

Now that is funny. What could he do other than ask if you want fries with that. And who'd hire him ?

LTG : )™

#17301 8 years ago
Quoted from TigerLaw:

LTG seems to suggest perhaps JPop could work at a fast food resturaunt or something,

I was more suggesting he'd have trouble finding anything more than a minimum wage job.

Quoted from Sticky:

but it looked like Magic Girl although late was almost ready?

As I recall it was a mock up and pretty far from ready. Read back thru the posts to where it was hauled to a show.

#19005 7 years ago
Quoted from benheck:

John told me I "had to make a choice" re: Spooky and Zidware.

I always get a kick out of someone telling me I have to make a choice. They just decided for me.

Quoted from Perspex:

Houdini is probably the JJP Pat Lawlor game, the two companies collaborating together in some way.

HaHaHa. No way in heck.

LTG : )

#19558 7 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

Not funny to those that are out money for games.

Or parts. Isn't GLM on the hook for purple boards ?

10 people getting games ( which I hope happens ) doesn't cover everything.

Quoted from NPO:

what P.T. Barnum allegedly said: "There's a sucker born every minute".

David Hannum said it.

Quoted from frolic:

The stories of BBB getting done I think contributed greatly to people's belief in both Predator and the Zidware games being possible,

Not if they followed along from the beginning.

Them actually getting done may have done it.

LTG : )

#20038 7 years ago
Quoted from Fulltilt:

He also had solid basic resources when he started.

Not quite.

Originally half the money up front the rest when done. A year in he needed the other half. He himself did lose a lot of money on the project.

Four different groups, one after another over the years worked on it. A lot of volunteers helped a lot too.

Quoted from toyotaboy:

all for 25 cents? Is he coding from 1986?

No, I believe they found a way to manufacture full sized pinball machines and sell them for 25 cents each.

Now if they can get shipping under a dollar, they'll sell millions.

I say leave him up there. Should make for good cinema.

I'll be there about 4 1/2 hours after they start.

I hope the rotten eggs and tomatoes are cleaned up by then.

Quoted from DS_Nadine:

I hope they can behave and not riot onto the stage.

I hope they run out of eggs and veggies hours before my seminar.
