If someone is willing to pay him money now he'd be a fool not to offer any and all assistance. A couple half-ass waivers from bobshapiro.com should take care of any liability concerns.
Someone promised to pay him money before and look what that got him. If I were him I wouldn't waste anymore of my time on it. This thing should be left alone. It is what it is and nothing more.
