More dithering from an unfocused man as he begins the process of crippling a new pretender company that foolishly believes they can change him.
Popadiuk Deja vu.
Quoted from frolic:John has been working on his html and self-fellating skills again.
Where is that posted? Does he have a new website?

LOL! I believe that’s a Joe Quesada sketch
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:I believe that’s a Joe Quesada sketch
That's what I was thinking and hoping Marvel requests a take down.

same url, but he refreshes the content regularly.

Let's see how long before it gets taken down.
Quoted from toyotaboy:all for 25 cents? Is he coding from 1986?
No, I believe they found a way to manufacture full sized pinball machines and sell them for 25 cents each.
Now if they can get shipping under a dollar, they'll sell millions.

"The game of Pin-ball has always represented a complex problem of applying a layer of social justice bonded to a wave of pure emotional power."
When i first read that....I thought the word 'layer' was lawyer......

That’s funny and sad at the same time. And it seems he has unlocked the secret to routing $16k games for 25 cents a play as well. Man, he’s just solving all the problems.
Quoted from desertT1:Man, he’s just solving all the problems.
As “the master of the Pinball universe” should be !! Sheesh

Didn't the new spokesperson say
They are gonna build Ferraris for the price of Kia's ?
Funny stuff but possibly true especially considering ferraris need constant adjustment to operate at full performance and are insanely expensive to maintain.
His use of "social justice" is so... odd.
It's almost like one of his infamous examples of hearing in passing about something, not understanding it, yet thinking it would benefit him to use it, and then not even using it correctly.
ie:
-Zombies. He never understood them but realized they were "hot" in 2012.
-A "rug" that he went and sourced for Magic Girl because of all the talk about Lebowski's rug.
-"Pussycat Bowling Pinball", because people like bowling apparently, from the success of "Labowski".
Quoted from frolic:reposting this because it is just too awesome. For those unaware, this was a website someone found at pussycatbowling.com around 2014.
Where do I send my money?

From the looks of concept artwork he might just be sexually attracted to cats.
Quoted from Wolfmarsh:Why is pinball hyphenated in the first sentence?
He probably patented it?
Quoted from Travish:Looks like another artist didn't get paid because I KNOW he ain't drawing that stuff himself.
Looks like Zombie Yeti pencil sketch style. When you compare it against some Alice in Wonderland work.

And they're gonna nickname it "zizzle".
Thought some of you might get a chuckle out of this.
Reading news at yahoo.com there is a "robust" (read: insane wild west) comments section as I'm sure many here are aware. Went to comment on a story and there is a nice little 'gif' button you can hit to search for pithy responses that don't require forming words.
I typed 'crazy' in the search box and about the 3rd or 4th animated gif that popped up was a shot of the Magic Girl playfield in attract mode.
Quoted from o-din:And they're gonna nickname it "zizzle".
This Kia has more features than your cheap-ass Ferrari, plus it sits 2 comfortably. Wonder what Deeproot would charge for a Kia level build -maybe $10k?

Wonder if he will be the one processing all those claims too.
Quoted from hank527:What claims will they process?
If history repeats itself, they will first process all the new incoming cash and then claim they have enough to make everybody whole.
Maybe I read this thread too much, because I had the most bizarre dream last night. I dreamed that we were fighting a fire at a warehouse (I am a firefighter, so this makes sense). As the fire was out, we searched the building. At the far end we opened the door and it was Zidware. JPop was there with about 15 interns working on stuff. Nothing of which was pinball related. We talked and he said that all will be sorted out, as he was doing some artsy fartsy craft project.
At the end of the dream a disassembled High Speed was rolled in by the UPS guy. John looked at it and said the foam core would be amazing.
Then I woke up. Really strange all around. Hope things can be worked out for all.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
They must have some kind of impressive plan for Dennis Nordman to sign on. He saw the writing on the Heighway Pinball wall and got the hell out there pretty damn quick!
This Robert guy though sounds like the typical arrogant corporate type to me... Doesn't matter what I think though. I'm not in the income demographic to be one of his customers anyway.
-Steve
Quoted from toyotaboy:Barry Oursler, Dennis Nordman, and Jon Norris join deeproot. Guess Heighway is done with Barry?
Hey, guy with the hat.. can you move over to the right just a tad so we don't see JPOP's head in the photo.. thanks
Haha. Good for them. We will see how long Jpoop lasts. Management will soon realize everything about Jpoop.

but there are talented people there to wrangle him. maybe they'll assign him to projects like a helper. He's our little foamcore & glue expert.
So....
a "bible adventures" from deeproot
a "Houdini" from deeproot
3 zidware titles from deeproot....
5 titles/days of deeproot?
Wow. Just Wow.

I know Robert is very bullish on this, but I've said before my biggest mistake with jpop (and other pinball startups in the rainbow days of 5+ years ago) was that I went against my own business instincts and what makes sense.
Right now this just seems like a bonfire of cash, raised from "other people's money".
And the biggest issue to me, from a business standpoint, is if I allow them the "Ferrari at Kia price" and "making pinball is easy" and "we're doing this in a disruptive way" is that the MARKET for pinball is still.... TINY.
If this passed my desk as a VC play, it wouldn't last 30 seconds.
So, at least it isn't my money going up.
