What is that clear disk on the side of the cabinet? A mounting bracket for something?

Edit: lol. I knew I wouldn't be the only one to wonder what it was.

Quoted from lllvjr:

Jpop will drill out a hole the plexi will show a led toy inside the cabinet.

?

#416 5 years ago

The porthole on the cabinet will be such a great feature when sandwiched between two games. Don't know which anology works better-getting lost in the weeds or can't see the forest through the trees?

#418 5 years ago

And why is that?

#420 5 years ago

Fair enough. Jpop is my favorite designer and so I was bummed about what he brought to expo. I'd pay in full for a production jpop game sight unseen if he actually had something to sell. I'm sure what he has will blow minds but will it ever happen?

Quoted from hank527:

Let's call all of this what it really is. There is an apparent lack of focus in getting any of these games complete and ready for final production. I was holding out, hoping a full working version of Magic Girl would be finished for Expo. I also know that in two years time you have collected $ 812,500.00 from the RAZA group and know you have expenses, which may involve rent and purchasing equipment to build the games. My fear is that half or more of this money may be gone and that you may never produce these games. I fear that the lack of progress is going to stop any new capital coming in and that it may be only a matter of time before your current capital is gone. I'm very worried you are on the edge of bankruptcy and would suggest you take action and restore people's faith in your company.

I would have not included this paragraph. Creating a negative mood will only lessen your chances of reaching an agreement. The idea of the letter is to show the other person you are serious and give them the chance to consider their legal choices. It is not an opportunity to insult them or create an adversarial relationship. If the dispute ends up in court, remember that the same judge who will hear your case will read your demand letter. This is another reason to keep it objective and professional. The last thing you would want is for the judge to perceive you as being antagonistic.

If you are serious and prepared to follow through and sue JPOP's LLC and all the things that come with taking that course of action, I would begin the process by having an attorney send JPOP a formal demand letter for a refund via certified mail. You probably can only sue JPOP in IL small claims court unless, generally speaking, you can serve him, a rep or his business in your state (if other than IL). Unfortunately, in our society, it can sometimes cost you money (and sometimes lots of it) and time to get your money back.

Good luck to you and everyone else trying to get a refund.

Well I hope the owners get what they've been hoping for!

Wish the best for all involved.

Quoted from applejuice:

o me an autolauncher is essential for a modern game as it opens up all sorts of code / rule possibilities.

Though I generally agree with this sentiment, battling the genie in TOTAN while frantically launching balls manually is, to me, what makes the wizard mode great. It just wouldn't be the same with an autolauncher.

#2354 5 years ago

That loop da loop looks like it could be a ton of fun -- not unlike the pinball magic skill shot which I love. Looks like he also has a few TOTAN genie lamp spinners in there. I'd love to buy one of these when they come out as JPOP is hands down my favorite designer. With that being said, I'd rather pay up for one once they are out. Good luck to those who are in -- I hope that you are somewhat reassured by what you've seen today.

Sorry I may have missed this elsewhere but what does RoHS stand for/mean?

Thanks for the snarky "go google it" responses. I often find that these types of responses come from people who don't know the answer and were the mouth breathers in high school that laughed at others for raising their hands in class to ask a question.

There was a time on Pinside when you could ask a question and get a simple answer. I remember when I started on Pinside a few years ago I didn't know what routed meant. Thankfully you weren't in that thread.

To any others wondering, RoHS is an EU member state restriction that prevents hazardous materials from being used in certain types of electronics.

So as StevenP said, not a U.S. issue. As such its almost entirely irrelevant in this thread. UL testing on the other hand...

Your welcome. Just shocked that you would not look it up. Takes as much time as asking.

Quoted from Hwawonyu:

Nice, it's cool amigo. Sorry I gave you crap on asking vs googling. Its all good.

All good - I was also once of those snarky mouth breathers at times despite what you may think Now get back to work!

That standup target looks a bit strange with the art bleeding over the keyline. Otherwise it looks cool I guess. I like how he is reusing the TOTAN pop bumper "bolt" inserts here. Nice homage to the past. If I recall correctly, those inserts were a major holdup in CPR getting tooling finished on their TOTAN repro playfields.
