Quoted from 27dnast:Sounds like he's definitely "butt hurt" as he says, despite denying it.
Butt hurt you say? Maybe that's the inspiration for the logo? Maybe they should have made the butthole red instead of the ass cheeks?
Quoted from Frax:CSI isn't that bad of a game.... it's certainly better than Street Fighter 2.
I just made a dookie that was better than SF2.
Quoted from Frax:What the hell is your point here? We compare games released today to games released by Bally/Williams *all the time*. Are you trying to say all Gottliebs are so terrible that they can't stand up to comparison against any Stern, because I'd like to argue that..
actually as far as build quality. gottlieb was the leader compared to anyone else. They are built like a brick shithouse.
Quoted from CrazyLevi:That's great. Unfortunately they play like shitty Marv Thornberry.
just saying. many spout off about build quality like it's the most important thing to them. Especially the JJP lovers. Oh build quality...build quality.... it's built so well. If that's the case. They need to buy Gottlieb system 3's.
Quoted from Frax:Can't disagree...Stargate was one of the most solid games I've ever owned...but again, even considered a "top" Gottlieb of the era, it's still a turd of a game compared to almost any 'B' Bally/Williams DMD. I'll totally stand up for some of their other stuff, but man... their DMD era games just were not at all competitive in the fun department, even if they did a bunch of unique and interesting things for the time.
I disagree. Stargate is my 8th favorite game of all time. And I like Tee'd Off better than NGG.
I was told by B/W design team, that when Stargate was made. B/W bought one and brought it into the plant. So they could look it over. They couldn't understand how gottlieb made any money with everything built that well, and everything that went into that game.
Quoted from Mr68:I hear Deeproot is re-making Street Fighter 2.
well, I think it's a fantastic idea. I mean, you can't fawk it up any worse than the original, so anything they do to it has to be an improvement.
Quoted from PinMonk:Except for their crappy video. I can't count the number of times I got machines in with that chip blown. TERRIBLE design.
that's because people feel the need to unplug the ribbon cable from the DMD while the game is running. then Pop. the SAL chip instantly blows.
I tell you what, i'll take awesome toys like the helicopter on rescue 911 any day to the shitfest toys Stern is giving us now. A deathstar that opens up like a hatchimal. Does it even count as a toy? Least gottlieb tried. The Dez was a great toy. Yeah the rules sucked on waterworld, but the layout is solid and the toy is pretty unique and complex. But no....no no no....those toys on a spring, that's some next level shit.
Quoted from gweempose:I don't think anyone asked for this thread to be closed. They were just commenting that it has veered way off topic. In keeping with that trend, I have to say I absolutely love my Stargate! It's a ton of fun, and a great bang for the buck!
that's because stargate is fantastic.
Quoted from Mr68:So how about someone beginning a new thread with this Gottlieb theme in mind. I've read in other threads where moderators have warned people to stay on topic in the past.
Look, I have a vested interest in the Jpop situation and I think Stargate is a piece of shit. I hated repeatedly hearing "Shoot the Pyramid", "Shoot the Pyramid" over and over again. I hated it almost as much as checking back into this thread each time it pops up.
Hey wait. Did I just join in?
did you know if you hold the flipper buttons in when you start a game, those voice calls lessen greatly?
