Have a strange issue. Under heavy load the dmd starts to flicker and glitch out. I have had my boards repaired by lockwhenlit. And am running a new x pin display power driver board. I have reflowed the connections on the back of the display driver. Not sure if its a weak dmd. Or the ribbon cable is bad. Any ideas would help.

Video does a good job but the frame rate hides how bad it really is. The reflecation in the glass helps give you a better idea of just how bad it is.

Looks like a high voltage issue to me. Could be the DMD or high voltage board, don't let it being a new reproduction board rule it out as a problem.

Swap DMDs with another game to rule it out.

Put a meter on the HV lines (120, 100, 60) and see if any fluctuate when it happens.

Swapped 3 different dmds. All same result. Then saw your post. Watched the voltage drop on the 60v. Was running 74. Then when it starts to flake it dropped to 40-46. The 100 and 120. Were steady at 115 and 102 even when it flaked.

Do you have another Sega/Stern Whitestar or SAM game you can swap the HV board with? Seems like that's your problem, but it'd be good to confirm.

No I dont. Should I get another xpin? Or go find an original?

Nothing wrong with XPin, you may have just gotten a problem board. You can contact Brett at XPin directly for support, he's usually pretty responsive. Or, contact where you got the board and see if they can do something for you.
