I am wanting to trade my MBr Se with shaker, mirror blades, and CPR topper with added color changing LEDs. Bought new end of 2019.

I can get either JP premium or AIQ premium NIB. Would have been an even trade but now will have to cover Sterns price increase.

I like both but on the fence. Which one has longer enjoyability. Thanks guys and gals.

GZ, all day!!

I have both, I’m not sure which one is better.. they’re not same game, and don’t feel like owning multiple lawlor or ritchie pins.. where it feels a little redundant. You can’t go wrong either way. Both is the best answer.

#6 2 years ago

This past weekend I got to play these games side by side. Granted, these were Pro models but in my opinion AIQ takes the taco. I love JP and the shots are really great, but those ramp shots in AIQ…pure sorcery, I tell you! You really can’t go wrong with either one, but I voted AIQ. The artwork, clips and callouts are sort of mediocre on both, but at the end of the day it’s great gameplay that keeps me coming back to either one of these fantastic machines.

#7 2 years ago

As you already know, JP gets my vote!

#8 2 years ago

Jp is better. Aiq is fun, but bad acting and animation. Jp harder, better code.

#9 2 years ago

Looking at your pins, JP will fit in nicely. You already have fun flow shooters, and imo, it is the better game, but I wouldn’t recommend it as an only pin.

Where did you get that topper btw; looking for one myself.

And can we all agree to stop using JP2, JP3 and JP to describe same pin lmao; just use JP, we all know we’re taking most recent. Someone will say JPDE if talking older. Not a big deal, just a wish list item I’m too guilty of.

Edit: voted wait for godzilla cause why not, like 2-3 weeks away lol no brainier

#10 2 years ago

I have both, AIQ LE and JP Premium. Both have great shots, although I prefer the ones on AIQ (love the Captain Marvel ramp). I prefer the rules on AIQ as well, in JP I feel like am on rails a bit, working my way through the paddocks. With AIQ I can choose which gem mode to play, where to put the gems, do I get Soul Gem early, late, etc.

BUT! If you are going to have to pay the increased prices anyway, I'd just wait for the next and then decide between the three.

No surprise there my friend

“BUT! If you are going to have to pay the increased prices anyway, I'd just wait for the next and then decide between the three.”

Good advice right there. Thank you

#13 2 years ago

If we were talking pro's I'd say JP as I think the AIQ pro is missing a lot that makes the game great. The entire right side of the game is missing in the pro. JP I don't feel like there is as much gameplay missing from the premium and would say go pro all day. That said the AIQ premium is a different game to me. I've already chosen with a purchase of one if it gets here soon. Otherwise I'll wait and buy one used in a few months.

Can't say what the new game will have in store. Could be amazing or could be not my cup of tea. Since you seem to be ready to take the price increase hit I'd wait and see cause the likelihood is you'll be kicking yourself if Godzilla is amazing (you made the hype thread after all

Own both. Have put 2,500 plays on JP. Not sure if I've put 100 plays on AIQ. Just not an addictive game IMO. Many of the modes are too long/boring/repetitive, callouts are laughably bad.

I have both but I just picked up AIQ Premium so it may still be the honeymoon phase. I love the flow of play on AIQ but i think in the long run I would go with JP, there is just so much going on with JP and never gets old.

I have a premium of both, got AIQ last week but I think AIQ is more fun. With JP you follow a track and I feel like the game gets going after a few paddocks but AIQ I feel like it gets going at the first gem mode. But once JP gets going and the t-Rexs modes pile on and the game has some incredible moments. It needs to be said you can’t go wrong with either pin. Man idk I’m thinking my self into saying JP now… both are such good games your golden either way.

The Godzilla plot twist skewed it up a bit.

JP is a more popular game and likely to hold resale value better

#26 2 years ago

Jp all day

I will say with AIQ - the premium/LE features actually drag the game down IMO. Marvel ramp rejects but more importantly that subway which really slows the game down. Pro actually plays better and faster. Might want to check that out

#27 2 years ago

I love both. I haven't seen this addressed and I feel it makes me seem a bit arrogant but I went with AIQ in my own game room even though I like JP more. The reason? I believe I read that JP "ends" when you complete the Wizard mode. That seems inappropriate to me, even If I never see it.

It skewed it for me. Three pins I want. Kinda hoping Godzilla sucks lol.

I played a pro AIQ and really liked it. Going to hopefully try a premium to see if I prefer it or not. I do love the artwork on the premium though.

Yeah JP is still a very popular IP for a long time. Going on 30 years.

#31 2 years ago

I just unboxed a new AIQ Premium two nights ago, and I can tell you I really love that game. Shots are smooth like butter. It's a keeper for sure. I've played the pro as well, but I am surprised how much more I enjoy the premium.

#32 2 years ago

I almost bought an AIQ today! I have put a lot of time on both of these on route and I always find myself putting two dollars for three credits in JP and being happy when I am done. I do the same for AIQ and then I drop another two dollars…wash rinse repeat. The show flow so nicely. It doesn’t hurt that AIQ’s theme is one of my favorites (behind Deadpool), I am a comic book guy. Back to the reason I didn’t buy one today?…I am holding out that I can get one used in my area with some mods for 7300 and maybe just maybe save up for GZ. So many pins…not enough money. I should have bought AIQ and sold it to fund GZ when it comes out. Now I am sad.

AIQ art is definitely better. Also if you get the topper, i think the bonus mode is better on AIQ. It’s harder to get as well since you need to earn each specific gem. On JP you’ll spell it eventually just flailing around.

#34 2 years ago

Have both as well and agree with this. Avengers tends to shoot easier. Plenty of code depth to both. It was easier for me to dial in Avengers vs JP3.

Avengers also looks better and guests prefer it, if that matters.

You would be happy with either! Being so close to a reveal, I’d have to choose wait though.

If you go with JP, timlah79's audio/video code is a must! So much better than the original code

You want Godzilla......i know it , they know it, you know it.

I agree. JP is amazing.

One thing that I don’t like on AIQ is the super wide ramp.

I have no idea about Godzilla yet but I’m probably getting that or DP next.

#38 2 years ago

My vote is for AiQ. I’ve just never taken to JP, but love AiQ. In my opinion, AiQ has much more flow and the code is so deep it will keep you playing for a long time. Yes, the callouts aren’t great, but what is so great about the callouts in JP? In addition, with JP, you get a generic theme package with no real assets. At least with AiQ, you get the actual marvel characters. I also don’t have the reject issue that a lot of people mention with the Captain Marvel ramp. It’s going to reject if you don’t hit a clean shot. I think the Captain Marvel ramp is one of the cooler features that have been in a pin in the last couple of years. Anyway, I know people love JP. It’s not that it’s bad or anything, I just don’t think it’s as great as everyone makes it out to be. Just my two cents…

Gotta go with the dinos. Stick to death of Superhero pins. Jeez. Surprised no one has come up with a Superhero Zombie game.

Yeah the avengers theme is a bit of a negative for me, but the game powers through. fun enough for me to overlook anyway.

I have both and this is my take. (I voted JP as I think it has the total package)

JP = Harder/tighter shots, Better video assets/callouts (with Timlah code) , Premium model is better bang for your buck than AIQ. Very linear but great modes/variety and fun.

AIQ = Flows better/easier shots, code is great, animation/callouts suck, gets a little repetitive for me on the modes sometimes.

Either would be a great choice as both are bolted for me but if I had to pick 1 it would be JP. Guest who come over typically say they enjoy AIQ the most.

Depends on what you like more..

I believe Keith Elwin said in a Podcast he like Stern JP the most of his creations.

I haven't got much into Infinity Quest yet and suppose I should just go out and play one more.

I have JP premium but think the pro is just as nice.

#43 2 years ago

I owned a JP and sold it to a friend before I really spent any time on it. Just bought a NIB JP prem and really getting into it. I have owned an AIQ pro which I liked but traded.
As far as comparing the two, both games have amazing shot opportunities/ angles. Each game is designed extremely well , with a lot to shoot for with out seeming crowded or tight ( see Houdini). I think the difference is in the rules.

AIQ, is improved dramatically with a pin woofer sound system. The game gives you a lot of choice as far as modes and GEM placement. I can see why it is very popular from that stand point. The rules are pretty complicated for me. I tried to get through the written on line rules once ,but got a headache . I would play a game and have no idea why it was counting up bonus scores at the end of a ball. Needed to spend more time on the rules ,but got a chance to trade for a ST and took the trade. The game would be great for a really good player that can spend the time to get down the intricacies of the game. I will probably try to get a pre/LE down the road.

JP is also a plethora of great shots/angles. The rules are a little more straight forward, but detailed/complicated enough to keep one interested for a long time. It may be a bit more clunky when you are not hitting your shots. I am getting into it in a way that I have not with any other new game in recent memory. It will be a keeper next to my SW comic prem.

At this point I vote JP based on the easier but still complicated rules. I would have no hesitation getting an AIQ tho. It also is a great home game.

AIQ hands down.

Quoted from SLAMT1LT:

Superhero Zombie

Deadpool 2: Marvel Zombies

Let's do it.

#45 2 years ago

Of the two, JP is the better game to me. AIQ has a great shooting layout. JP has better rules. I may be in the minority here, but I like the Pro on JP better than the premium/LE. The moving trex is amazing on the premium, but after the novelty wears off it can be a bit of a hindrance. I realize that many may disagree with that because its a very cool toy. Strong opinion here, If you put 100-200 games on a pin and sell/trade it, I’d go premium on JP. If you put thousands of games on your pins, I’d go pro. If you add the community sound/video to JP the theme integration is stellar. AIQ’s theme integration/ animations are downright bad. I love shooting AIQ and want to love it, but can’t get into the rules much as JP. All that said, IMDN is my personal favorite of the three Elwin games, even with a worse theme. We’ll see if Godzilla changes that!?

#46 2 years ago

Cheers mate - thanks for getting back to me on that!

#47 2 years ago

I own all three of Elwin's masterpieces so far and my JP Premium I definitely play the most and is my go to pin. My IM Pro is 2nd and AIQ Premium 3rd. JP just pulls me into the immersion of the game like Deadpool did and it's just plain fun. The T-Rex head moving and incredible use of the shaker motor in the game have made this one that is bolted down in my house for good. Which says a lot as with my small collection I go through pins typically in a 3-6 month period. AIQ is definitely a fun pin as well but man the call outs kill it for me and that deep Thanos voice does nothing but irritate me to be honest. The game and layout are fantastic but I don't feel drawn in like I do with JP or IM. Like others have said you really can't go wrong with either and at some point hopefully you can own both. I'd highly recommend the Premium models on both of these pins though. I've also had no issues with the Captain Marvel ramp after the cool mod the one guy on here made or the subway. I really like having the balls lock down there and building them up to be used in a multiball. Adds a neat dimension to when to use the Portal in the game.

I've owned all 3 and currently have AIQ, I would buy an Elwin designed pin sight unseen at this point, all 3 have been fantastic! I have trouble picking between any of them.I honestly would take a JP Pro over the premium though, the dinosaur is cool, but is flow killer and imo the novelty wears out quickly... same with IMDN, sarcophagus lock is super cool... the first handful of times, but then it is just a flow killer! I imagine I'll get there eventually with the Dr Strange lock on AIQ but right now the Captain Marvel ramp and in general the whole right side of the playfield make it worth the move to premium!

Bottom line... I don't think you can't make a wrong decision between the two!
