I've been overplaying JP recently and I guess no good deed goes unpunished. Today, some switch started activating on it's own. Threw it into diagnostics and it showed #53 Brachiasourus Top was activating over and over and over. Went to grab the manual to confirm it was the one I thought, and all of a sudden, the display and sound stopped. I had it in diagnostics for less than a minute I think. Now every time I power on, the GI comes on, but no display or sound. Did a quick visual inspection of all the fuses and nothing obviously is blown. The basement is full of kids for the rest of the evening so I can't do any troubleshooting. So, just thinking through what steps I want to walk through tomorrow. Any suggestions for what to look for first? <insert my standard disclaimer about not being very experience with electrical repair>

OK. So, I'm only reading .5 volts on the +5v test point on the power supply board. That board itself is hacked a bit and I've had a variety of issues in the past that come and go, but seem to be power related. I think I'm going to just bite the bullet and buy a rottendog replacement.

Btw, thanks for the suggestion PinballManiac. I had replaced capacitors when I first got it. The original power supply board was so hacked up that I decided to just spend the $90 on a new Rottendog board. Had to redo a couple of connectors that were wrong or burned / not fixed from the prior hacking. Finally got it it all connected up today and it's working great. Should have just spent the money long ago. It's had so many little problems over the past year related to power.
