My EOS switch seems to be getting caught on the flipper pawl (see attached picture).

I looked in the JP manual and they don't even have an EOS switch pictured (odd).

I've always noticed how incredibly close the end of the EOS is from the pawl and for some reason now it is acting up and getting caught.

Any ideas on how to adjust this? The bracket the switch is mounted to doesn't seem to move/adjust.

Thanks for any tips!

Maybe wrong switch installed?

You could just snip off a bit of the end of the switch blade...

That's why I referenced the manual...to see what switch is specified for the machine. Bizarre that the manual doesn't even picture/list an EOS switch.

snaroff - that's the wrong EOS for JP. You have a high-current tungsten contact switch.

You need this one instead:

http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=713

Data East and Early Sega End Of Stroke Switch
Price: $4.25
Product ID : 180-5124-01

See the bend at the end? They are also lower-tension than the one you have.

The plastic actuator can also develop a wear spot that can catch on the switch blade.

You can rotate the red plastic or replace it for cheap.

Thanks Russ! That makes sense. Could have figured it out myself if the manual was more detailed. It's bizarre that page 38 of the manual (entitled Flipper Assemblies) doesn't list any EOS. If it did, I could have figured this out myself. Did you find the part above in any JP manual or addendum? Curious.

No, I've owned several DE machines and worked on several more.

You get used to what you work on.

I just installed these and the lower tension is a bit of a problem. They can lose contact and I have to get in there and bend them for a better contact. Not saying you shouldn't get that set (they'll work better than the ones you have) but just keep in mind that if a flipper quits it's probably the EOS not contacting well enough. I can see why mine didn't have them when I got it. I'll bet they were disconnected out of frustration.

Thanks for the info. For now, I just snipped the ends to avoid getting caught. They work great now. I'll order the other ones, but will stick with these for awhile.
