Is it detrimental to set the coil pulse to high on a JP? Is it beneficial? I set it to high, and it does feel like the ramp is easier to hit. That could be confirmation bias though.
Yes, it makes it easier to hit. However, i wouldn't change the coil strength. There is much more chance on breaking plastics in the game. If the ramps aren't easy to shoot on normal strenght, buy a few flipper rebuilt kits.
By the way, not only the flipper coils get more power but all other coils get more strength too.....
Quoted from johnnypinball:Does anyone else have any input on this topic? I have a JP and was wondering the same thing.
Me too. I was thinking about it as well but am concerned about breaking things, although Pinwiz79 said it's ok.
Yeah jack them up! Its in the menu settings right? You're not Macguyverin it up with extra wires and coils are you?
I increase power on all DE/Sega/Stern titles.
Except Batwatch, there is a diverter glitch on that one which sucks.

Yes, it is an option in the settings menu but the manual states that it is to be used if you have low line voltage. I am wondering if it can create issues if i leave it on the strong setting with my voltage being a strong 120v. That is the concern.
