Jokerz doesn't seem to get enough love. I'll be the first to admit it isn't a great pin but it is a darn good pin and it is growing on me. I have 4 pins now, all of which are much better regarded than Jokerz, and yet Jokerz might be my most played as it has become my go to "Hey, I have 5 minutes let me get a game in" pin.

Deep? Definitely not.

Flow? Nope. In fact the exact opposite. Every shot on the pin has a random and potentially dangerous return path.

Risk-vs-reward? Oh yes, this is where Jokerz shines. Every shot is risky and you have to work to get the ball back under control. The game is chaotic and that is what makes it so much fun.

This thread is for all things Jokerz related that don't deserve their own thread.

I'll start with a few questions:

What are you strategies for high scores?
I think the obvious first move is to go for the Jackpot. 4 shots to the middle. Followed by 4 more, while keeping the second ball in play, for a cool 4 million in competition mode. But after that what you do go for? The game really opens up from there and if there is a distinct best path to take it isn't clear to me. Build up the ramp score? Focus on table bonus? Shoot for Draw poker or free card to built up multiplier? 2nd Jackpot? Drop target millions?

What adjustments do you recommend?
I haven't found the optimum set yet. So far I leave Double Yer Score on but I make the timer short (don't remember the exact setting). I turn on competition mode and I turn on the double scores target for multiball. What settings do you use to make the game the most fun?

The stats say there are 110 owners on the forum. Bump!

I had a great game today and got 13.58M! That is a personal best (well I know I got 16M before but I think that was when the game was still on 5 ball from the previous owner).

My current strategy is basically keep shooting for the middle as every two shots are worth 100K for sure and a chance at 1 card, wild card bonus, and a BET letter if you can nudge it just right. Of course on ball 3 I go for the double your score but as pinkid said the ramps can be tough to hit. Given the 10 seconds (or less) timer, I rarely actually get double your score but I did this game!

It is funny this thread is getting attention today. I just put my Jokerz up for sale. I know I will miss it when it is gone but I have a small pinball collection and the desire to mix up my pin line up is taking over. It seems I will be one of those 6 month owner types.

I agree on the ramps. If someone sold the three ramp set for for $150ish I would buy it. There is a guy on Ebay selling NOS ramps but he wants $300 per ramp.

Kneissl, I couldn't find them either when I was replacing the upper playfield so I just used screws. I know some people look down on them from a "restore" perspective but from a functional perspective the screws work and look fine and have the added benefit that you can remove them easily. to clean the pin (I guess the nylon rivets may have the same benefits...)
