I try to track down a manual also, but pics go a long way!
Thanks!

The flasher leads plug into a splitter connector as PinHigh1 showed. Then those leads feed the flasher boards that mount under the domes.
Do you have the boards?
Pretty sure you can buy all those bits to build it.

#152 4 years ago

I need to inspect the domes a bit more..

I did get what looks like compatible parts from a bally Dr. Who.. the previous owner said they would work.

Also is there a stick for the back of the top ramp? He installed a new one but its missing the back red/yellow sticker to block the flashers.

Here is a pic of what I got!

I can get some pics of mine. Do you need pics of all five flashers, or just the ones next to the center ramp?

Any pics of that area the better! the two for sure by the bridge!

#155 4 years ago

OK, I'll be able to get you a full set tomorrow.

Greetings. Recently got a Jokerz in to do a repair / sensible resto. I am looking for insert decals as the ones I have in the center parts of the PF are totally roached to non existent.

Good source for these in good quality? Preferably pre-cut. Thanks much.

That wiring is a little screwy just looking at the pics. I need a schematic!

Heh, you think that's funny, When I got my Jokerz! the wiring on the right was plugged into itself and not connected to anything.

They are all 2 pin connectors.
The wiring feeds from the bottom male connector to the female connector.
The leads to for right lamp come back out of the female connector to go to the right lamp.
The male connector just feeds the left lamp.

The boards are the same as the Dr. Who you have, they are just sockets for the twist connectors the #906 flasher bulb in your pic.

I thought the bulbs in these were #89's?

ok, so this mini harness, are they hooked up in parallel then going to one plug? I haven't looked yet at the schematics.. I might need to order some connectors to make this all work right.

I just looked under the playfield. The plug giving the power for the bulbs is still there. Two orangeish wires going on one pin, and browninsh on the other pin.

Leads feed through hole in playfield. Similar situation on the other side and for upper flashers as well.

Here, you can see where the leads for both center flashers feed through the playfield to the underside.

Let me know if you need more pics of something specific. I can't really get pics of the side flashers and how they feed through the playfield without tearing stuff down, but when you do them, it's fairly obvious where you would feed the leads through.

Cool. This gives me a lot of ideas. It would appear that both the left and right flasher on the center ramp go on at the same time. So they are wired together.

I think my left and right ramp flashers are fine, just need to change bulbs. I did the left one with a new bulb and it works fine. When I have time I'm going to do the right.

My only issue now is making that small 'harness' for the center ramp to light up both lamps at the same time.

Thank you all! Very good pictures all around!

#172 4 years ago

I was tired when I took these pics last night, but I am almost 100% certain there are two connections for the center flashers...one for each side. I will check again for you when I am home from work.

Does anyone have scans of the insert decals by chance (including key lines)? I want to print some waterslide decals and replace the ones on a restoration I'm doing. I would be most appreciative!

I have a bunch of leftover, mediocre ones I got from the guy on eBay.

If they would help lmk. They are not great quality.

Quoted from pacman11:

Where can I buy a new top playfield plastic at?

That's gonna be tough. There were a few out there a couple of months ago, but it looks like everywhere is out of stock now.

#177 4 years ago

Good luck. I am fixing up a Jokerz right now and have spent a good deal of time calling around, emailing to everyone I could think of but no one has any idea if or when that part will be available again.

#178 4 years ago

I was lucky in that I got one of the last available ones back in January. When I picked up my game back in September and started reading the forums I said to myself "yeah that part isn't going to be around for long". Sure enough the two or three that *were* still out there were gone shortly after Christmas.

#179 4 years ago

Who made the ones that were available a couple months ago?

#180 4 years ago

I think it was all from the same supplier, but I got the last one from Marco's, and I know a buddy of mine who picked up the last one from Bay Area Amusements shortly after berating me for getting the last one from Marco.

Looking for help with my GI relay board area, underside of the playfield back right. My GI was out or partially out and I was blowing fuses. Found this board hanging with previously burned connector/header inerface and wires soldered directly to the underside of the board. I am replacing it (replacement in hand, mounted) as it seems a good place to start.

What I have now are 4 wires, 2 purple and 2 yellow. I cant tell what goes where, though I have a photo showing the YP_YP sequence. I just cant tell the two purples or 2 yellows apart.

It appears I have 1 purple and yellow that connect to the underside of the playfied, and 1P 1Y that make their way up into the backbox through the massive mess of wires. Anyway someone can take a look and tell me which feeds to which pin on their machine? Thanks.

My Draw Poker scoop kickout is firing about three times before it is able to get The ball up to the top inlanes. The coil is a 23-800. Should I consider a stronger coil or does anyone have another suggestion?
What would be the next coil strength up?

have you tried adjusting the upkicker at all? maybe just an adjustment will get it kick through>?

#185 3 years ago

capped the power board and i did the williams audio hum mod i found online and on pinside.
i managed to get the humming down a tad. i found that mostly keeping the volume down lower is the only fix.

I Pulled the mech and gave everything a good cleaning and tried adjusting the upkicker a few times. No change. The ball bounces against the guide rails and then back into the scoop. Other than a stronger coil I'm not sure where to go with this one. I'd hate to put a new coil in it just to have it rattle around the ball guides and bounce back where it started.

yeah, I just did Jokerz rebuild for a guy and his was not smooth either, though at worst 2-3 kicks and it went out. All I could consider was somehow modifying the shape and placement of the metal guide think that sits behind it

The kickout hits the angled steel first.
I have had good luck bending the top part of the angle down.
Struggled with this issue myself for a while, making a number of changes.
Ended up being Occam's Razor.

Can anyone tell me what the max height is of the table with the head folded down? I just purchased a Jokerz table on Facebook As my first pin and it’s a 5 hour drive. I’m worried about fitting it in my 2017 escape even though everything tells me a system 11 table will fit. The current owner doesn’t know how to fold down the head to check for me. Thanks for any advice!!!

New to the Jokerz club and loving the table so far. I will be removing the top play field to replace a broken gate wire between the BET area and draw poker area. I figured while I am up there I would replace all the rubbers and upgrade the GI lighting to LED. What kind of LED bulbs did everyone use in the upper play field area? Just looking for some opinions.

Just looking for some opinions.

Its really easy to over do it with LEDs on the UPF for Jokerz!.
Comet really has the best selection I've found.
If you look through this subforum's gallery, you can see some with LEDs and some without.
It comes down to personal preference.

Be very careful with the UPF itself, as it falls under the category of "unobtainium".

And welcome to the club!

#192 3 years ago

Question for those of you that went with LEDS during your upper playfield repairs. Did you guys replace the 4 flashers behind the playfield with LED’s or leave them incandescent? If you did LED’s what did you use? I was thinking 5SMD flashers but I’m worried it will be to much or am I better leaving those 4 alone?

My wife is excited to join the club and I have some work to do....

Update, after removing the mech and giving it a good cleaning, new coil stop, coil sleve and a new kickout with a nice bend at the tip, it is kicking out almost perfectly. It is a rare occurrence that the ball doesn't make it to the inlanes.

I’ve found that 90% of the time when this occurs that a good cleaning usually does the trick on most older stuff.
