Hi
My joker poker SS always give a 10pts when I start a game and every 10pts switch (switch 40) are non registering in the Test (with error 40M meaning i have a 10pts registering somewhere).

I tought it might be a stuck closed one but all switches are open and brand new.
I did a full PF swap on it and I counted 11 switch40 in the manual. I double checked them.

On Which lug should be the green wires? I maybe mixed that up?
Thanks in advance
LOU

if there aren't any diodes on the switches it doesn't matter what wire goes to what solder tag.

what does look odd is that each of those switches look to be held to the mounting bracket with pop rivets?
i could be wrong but that doesn't look like something Gottlieb would have done.

do the switches still have the insulating cylinder inside to stop the rivet shorting the two blades?

WoW. Good call. It makes sens. I just took regular switch I Had without thinking of this.
I’ll let you know. Thanks

So I double checked my new switches and they all have the protecting tubes in them.

I still have the « stucked switch » when I boot and it’s confirmed in the test with « 40m » written in the first Window.

I triple checked If I was shorting something (maybe on the ground braid) and everything looks fine…

Im baffled

do you have a multi meter you can use to see if you have continuity across the switches?

if not i'd remove each switch from the circuit by removing a wire.

Have you checked the tab ends of the switches for inadvertent contact and for solder splashes on the sides of the bakelite insulators?

Yes. They all have continuity. On Both lugs. Green/white wires are all good to the board. White/greens goes to a set of « relays » at the Bottom of the PF. I tried to find where they go after that on the board without success. I double checked every crimps and connectors to the board. Everything is solid without corrosion.

I removed every one of them (11 as per the manual) to be sure. All clean. No short there.

Is 1 stucked close can shut them all? That’s where Im lost.
Thanks for your feedbacks

The switches are in parallel, so if one is closed, the machine does not know which one is closed, only knows that one of the 11 is closed.

So…it was just a stucked switch I missed. The queens one. Nothing weird or special. Just another learning curve!
Thanks all for your inputs.

If any switches are gonna hang somebody up, those multiple parallel ones will sure do it!
