Just finished crating up an NOS Johnny Mnemonic playfield - sending it out tomorrow for clearcoating.

Quoted from retro_p:I'm jealous (), where did you find a nos pf?
I picked up the NOS playfield on eBay; it is signed by Johnny Mnemonic artist John Youssi. I built a crate specifically for this playfield, given the rarity and the unlikeliness of any repros ever happening.
Quoted from mwong168:How is your original playfield and is it available for sale? I have a friend who is looking for a JM playfield.
My original playfield is in excellent condition; this game saw very little action before retirement. I may sell the original playfield after I install the NOS, but it will probably be many months before that happens.
Quoted from northvibe:That is a great pf crate. I had a CP pf shipped and I think it was in what stern uses, a cardboard box with foam on the corners. I like yours better
Thank you very much! The crate should be reusable for any WPC-era playfield (except widebodies) with some minor adjustment to the foam inserts.
These pictures show why I will always ship playfields in a wood crate. Sent my NOS Johnny playfield out to Ron Kruzman via Fedex last week, and Fedex managed to put a forklift through the crate. Pierced the outer wood of the crate and about halfway through the insulation foam protecting the playfield. Only 1/2 inch of foam between the fork and the face of the playfield. Close call!
Quoted from conserx:Hey guys,
Was doing some work on my JM & noticed that I seem to be missing a post from under a plastic as shown in my pic below. Can anyone tell me what needs to go there?IMG_0933-825.JPG 65 KB
Checked my recent JM teardown pics for you conserx, hope this helps:
Quoted from Cliffy:Of all the requests I got the right ramp wasn't requested even once! Justin's isn't cracked at all so I (mistakenly) assumed no requests, no damage, isn't needed. sorry! I'm sure I'll get back and do that one too.
This is great news! Thank you for making a right ramp protector.
Wanted to give everybody a heads up, Pinbits has made a ramp flap kit for Johnny Mnemonic:
http://www.pinbits.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_88&products_id=634
The flaps are made of stainless steel, and the kit includes the complete set of all six flaps needed for this game. I drilled out my old flaps and sent them to Pinbits so they could get the measurements - a huge thanks to them for taking this on. I received my new set in the mail a few days back, and they look fantastic!
Quoted from MustangPaul:Thanks for doing that, got pictures.
Pictures of the new flap set from Pinbits (protective film still attached):IMG_0477.JPGIMG_0480.JPG
Quoted from MustangPaul:Thanks. If ya don't have a pop riveter ya better get one. That's a lot of rivets.
I will be using a rivet press - better results (closer to factory original) than a pop riveter.
That being said, the Pinbits kit comes with a pressless rivet kit included.
Quoted from MustangPaul:That's what I meant to say...I know the difference.
lol
Glad I am using my original ramps, since there would be a lot more drilling and riveting going on to install new repro ramps. JM ramps have a ton of riveted items - the left ramp alone has 14 rivets (not counting the flap rivets).
