Quoted from Lithium:

I personally think this is an awesome game for LEDs, theme wise. I use OCD boards on both the GI and controlled. It was a great purchase and the results are excellent.

Well, you convinced me. I just installed an LED OCD board that I had lying around, and the results are indeed impressive in this game.

Love that speaker panel!

#3755 2 years ago

Is that speaker panel available to purchase?
I would certainly pay for a custom one.
Also interested in seeing a close up of your hands painted
I thought my restore with clearcoat
Play field and chrome new decals but this is next level

#3756 2 years ago

Fantastic job I will be also interested in purchasing a speaker panel

#3757 2 years ago

3rd for the Speaker Panel

#3758 2 years ago

That speaker panel really pops. Looks so good.

#3759 2 years ago

@scottydoesntknow, that pin looks really good sir.

One thing to consider... do you really want to use Pincab protectors over new decals?

(and would you care to share info re whose decals you used? How it went, etc?)

#3760 2 years ago

Sorry for the late reply fitted the topper today very pleased nearly complete now

With the dmd surround spoke to col biggest problem is shipping cost likely to be expensive from the uk ill find out his id on here and tag him in

The Decals are from a guy in Europe found them super easy to fit tbh went on nice and easy, i have only done 2 previous redecals on newer stern pins with genuine stern, so was real happy with the outcome, (ill find his name as tbh contact so many sources before deciding) the leg pros didnt actually think about not putting them on tbh just had them so put them back on again not thinking

I'm happy to pay the additional shipping cost - I'm in Australia so used to paying for shipping

New JM owner here…
Couple questions…

Orbit ball diverter busted off (see pic)

Is this the right part?

https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/04-10247.2

I’m a noob at pin repairs and lifted the playfield to look at the post and it’s attached to a selonoid. What do I do next to fix this? Do I need to remove the solenoid to get the old post out? thx guys!

That is the correct part. The diverter rod is held into place with a set screw in the mechanism under the playfield. Super unobstructed and easy to get at. I can send you a pic of the mech from the manual if you don’t have it.

Thx for the response! So it’s just a screw holding the diverter rod in place? I only glanced at it for a few seconds. First time lifting the playfield…

I will order the part. Seems easy…

#3767 2 years ago

Update: so when installing the diverter post, I dropped the set screw and totally lost it (ahhh!). Went to Home Depot, tried to find a match but it didn’t fit. Does anyone have any leads or know if this is it? (It looks just like it.) thx!

Recently joined the club unfortunately the glove was not working. Tearing down and replacing. While tearing down one of the dc motors dropped and was seized. Trying to find just the motor to order I noticed I could only find the complete motor assembly for $200 at Marco. Searched the internet with no luck. Pulled back the Williams tag and found the actual part number of the motor rs-365sh and shown in photo. Found them on eBay and ordered a couple. Hope the helps someone else out.

That’s awesome and really helpful! The assembly is $200 from Marco but the motor itself is like $5 on EBay. Great find and info.

Okay those set screws also didn’t fit (ahhhh!). Diverter post still not secured in and doesn’t move when fired. Anyone have any leads on these set screws?

#3771 2 years ago

hey guys… noob again. I got another one, glove is working in all directions but won’t release ball. When I bought it off guy, guy gave me a switch and said replace switch and it should work. I took off glove and found switch area, one wire is ripped. What do I do… just swap out wires and add new switch in? Anyone have a link for new wires? Thx!

Looks like you can just reattach the existing wire. If that doesn't work install new switch. Make sure you are using carbon steel balls, the chrome ones become magnetized.

#3773 2 years ago

Trying out a new translite I had made. I do like the original one, but it’s a little busy for me personally.

I reattached. Ball still not releasing until ball search gets activated. Would this rule out the balls being magnetized if it consistently drops during ball search? Should I change switch next? Thx

#3775 2 years ago

Sadly left this club for a 2nd time in past 10 years. I sold JM #2 to a really good friend so can still play it anytime. I have to remove the head on my games to move up my basement and my friend put the head back on and everything works but the magna save buttons so glove doesn't move forward/backward. I believe it has to do with J209 on the MPU. I was wondering if someone could take a close up pics of all those connectors on bottom of the MPU so he can confirm he has everything there connected properly. Thanks in advanced!

You should be able to test the switch in the test menu. You have a new switch, it should have two bent tabs that fit around the magnet. See if can feel the old switch for the tabs. If one or both are broken I would replace the switch. It's not difficult. I recently did mine. If you want to see if your balls have been magnetized, put up against a small screw, nail, etc.

Hi, new JM owner here and having a blast with it! Has anyone tried a pinsound board with their JM? I got one recently and it doesn't seem to work well with the game on my initial tests and I am up-to-date on firmware. I have tried both the 'original' and 'ost' scores from the pinsound site and they both seem to have issues with cataloging and recalling the right files in the right spots. After you press start, there is that short 1-2 second intro and then there's a clunky cut to the next track, which is the ball launch music. Once you launch the ball, the music stays on the 'waiting to launch ball' track until you start a mode, which is not how the game works normally. This was also happening in the 'ost' score uploaded to pinsound. This makes me think that these older uploads(and only ones available) may have worked on an older version of the board possibly? Anyways, lots of other strange things, like music cutting out and sound effects playing on loop. Also, when the game ends, it holds the last note of previous song while the end-of-game music plays really quietly in the background.

Possibly this game needs to be re-exported/categorized to work properly with pinsound. Just wanted to check here if anyone had figured this out yet.

#3778 2 years ago

Have a new pin arriving this week, so my JM is going to find its way out to the shop to make room in the game room.

While it's out there, I'm going to take time to rebuild the hand mechanics. A couple weeks back the Y-nut finally gave up its ability to grab the Y-screw. Both the X and Y screws are in need of replacement, as they both more closely resemble a coarse rasp than a smooth positioning screw. I'll also clean and lube the gear boxes while I have everything apart

According to the manual, it is a nyliner bracket (part #20-8790) ...

cynric gweempose The one you pointed out goes into the metal bracket below the playfield. I'm trying to find the one that goes above the playfield; they are different. I couldn't find it in the manual.

The big difference is nyliners are split, while the upper bushing is solid.

Looking for proper part numbers VUK S36 . Ball popper 1. Page 2-35 manual states both LED and TRANS having same part number A-16909 .

Ideas ?

Thanks in advance Shane

#3787 2 years ago

Thank you. I have random popper action with no ball in the assembly. Come and go issue. Hence my parts question.

Enjoy the day Shane

#3788 2 years ago

noodle with it in switch test and see if it's intermittent. good luck!

That's a nice looking back glass. I'll be officially joining the club next weekend when I pick up my JM. This is definitely getting put in the budget for the restore. However, the budget will be intense. Here's a preview:

Can you go over what trim you used with this new backglass?

I used the standard trim from the original translite. It was a bit snug, but it works fine.
