On the JM hand....how does it know where the X and Y travel limits are?

I see a microswitch that could act as the 'stop' when the hand is all the way home (Left). But there is no switch that limits the travel at the far end (right). On the Y, I don't see any switch for home or end of travel.

My guess is the opto switches are used and the number of turns are counted.... but I could be wrong.

Anyone know? Thanks

there's only a home in one direction

it has the optos and slotted discs so it can accurately measure how far it moves

so once it homes itself to the left, it knows how many opto blinks it is to the right before it hits the wall

Thanks, thats what I figured. I appreciate the confirmation.
