That's unlikely, unless I get to a pinball bar a few suburbs away, that's only open late afternoon till midnight 5 days a week. It's not a place I ever make it to tbh.

Played the pro again on location. Not sure if the new code was on it but I still had a hard time connecting the theme with gameplay. I wonder what they will do with the dance club area because right now it doesn't remind me of the club gunfu. The game media is mostly sterns footage at the moment.
Quoted from MK6PIN:You mean like new Xmen? Funny stuff...some people actually LIKE games that others don't...Even if I was heavy in the hobby like prior, I would never buy an EJ...does this make me " wrong"...oh, Pinside...
Its just weird to like games with comically bad early code in them and a playfield that looks completely barren and pedestrian compared to what was just shown. Maybe X-men will suck, we have no idea yet, but at least it looks interesting. I dunno... if I spent 13k on a stinker LE or even a lowly pro at NIB price I'd prob try really hard to convince people it was good too, or at least have myself convinced.
Quoted from gumnut01:I was thinking of swapping my venom Le for wick Le. Now not so sure. Venom is fun to shoot.
Venom is 10 times better than Wick.
Quoted from Haymaker:Venom is 10 times better than Wick.
Oh really, you don't like Wick?
Quoted from TreyBo69:Oh really, you don't like Wick?
A shocking revelation, I know!
Maybe someday it will make something of itself

Bought BM66LE when it literally didn't flip (literally)...WOZECLE was a nightmare NIB. They both turned out pretty good (?) Not trying to convince anyone that Wick is good or not, just giving my take...most played game at the moment even in current state for me. Guess an observation that means exactly as much as everyone else's.....zippo..
(I enjoy the owners threads still, but have to jump in these once in awhile....hope X-Men is a great game, btw)

And I hated Bond for a long time too, now its one of my favorites. Still glad I didn't buy one when they were new, never would have defended it when it still sucked either. Buying a game that stinks and hoping for the best is not exactly my idea of a wise move.
I have some 1 inch balls coming to see if it is compatible with the trough optos. Turn down the flipper strength. So the center ramp and the dance club shot can be a little easier

Fortunately....Wick doesn't suck, so NIB worked out good for me (caught me on my lunch break)....played it non-stop for about 2 hours last night...huge fan of the movies, so maybe a plus...the longer I play it, the "darker" it feels as I get through stuff....love the hell out of it....brutal game.
(Venom is vanilla compared to Wick IMHO...don't like it much)

Whaaat? This is a thing????

Yo, bruh…ya gotta wait at least a full year for Stern to finish the code. Boring ruleset, lame-ass toys, uninspired layout…bruh, the code will fix ALL of that a year from now.
Quoted from cooked71:Whaaat? This is a thing????
They were used in truck stop and a few EMs.

And....done w the hype thread..( though the negativity spans far beyond)...if I only knew what I liked

Yes, but certainly not warranted/ needed in Wick...good grief
Quoted from Jaytech10:They were used in truck stop and a few EMs.
they were only in truck stop because of a manufacturing defect with the wireforms of the initial batch, the later units had normal balls
I can't think of any flipper EM pinballs not using 1-1/16" balls. Maybe they exist. I don't know. And frankly...I don't want to know.

Of course you know what you like, and you know what? You’re not wrong.
Meanwhile, I think Wick is fairly shite, and I’m not wrong either. That’s just how opinions work.
.
*begin corny pinball love statement*
Now let’s agree to disagree, but still agree that we all love pinball. Go play your machines and be happy! Yay, pinball!!!!

Its all opinion man lol. Trust me, I have a whole basement full of top of the line stinkers, but they're all good. I like them, so you should take my word for it!
I love John Wick it reminds me of LED Zeppelin with its flow and fun shots you just have to be a decent pinball player to be able to get the flow out of the game. A lot of these people are hating this game because of that because they aren’t the best pinball players so they brick a ton of drain similar to LED Zeppelin and there isn’t one shot in John Wick that is easy!

I have some of the highest scores on the game on Pindigo (score tracking app). I can play it just fine. I would argue its the other way around with this game. If you're good at it (or at pinball in general) its easy to see the shortcomings and flaws in this game, particularly in the code right now. Also not having thousands of my own dollars wrapped up in a game, yet still having 100's of plays really makes it easy to be objective about the game. Being deeply familiar with almost every recent Stern and tons and tons of other games also helps vs basically just goofing around in my basement with my expensive junk.
Quoted from Gamingrulin:Haymaker yes totally agree was just trying to say middle of the road pinball players may not like this game!
Thats fair, I do hear a lot of negativity coming from causals and more middle of the road players very frequently at the locations I play at regarding Wick. Also from the more experienced players too though lol. Its almost universally disliked in my anecdotal IRL experience so far.
Quoted from Gamingrulin:Haymaker code takes awhile to come along as we have seen for awhile now but really interested to see how people enjoy this game after they get all the code put into it. Once it reaches 0.97 or 0.98 it has mostly everything in it!
I am also curious to see how it turns out after code matures, and am hopeful it will bring it together, as I've mentioned many times now.

I had a truck stop and the right ramp was un able to make with a standard size pinball at 6.5 degrees because the plastic would flex too much and slow the ball down. The inter right ramp and shooter lane ramp on the other side. I tried everything. Until someone told me about the 1 inch balls

that is a skill issue?
the wireform on the initial run of the game were undersized and balls got stuck in them. It was not about flexing ramps. Later games with the correct wire form play fine with normal balls

I might offer that if someone has thousands of dollars wrapped up in a game, vs. just hitting it on location (tourney player or not), would cause someone (me for example) to look really, really hard at the game, being extremely objective. There's zero reason to hype a game I don't like, even if I was a "pump and dump" collector (we can all agree those days are long gone, thankfully). Dislike many "crowd favorites", not because I'm a poor player or goofing around in my basement. Pinball was my primary hobby for decades, so yes, I'm good at it, and see "flaws" in every game...only now slowing down to enjoy life "outside the glass". Wick is an enjoyable game to me in a Tron/ IM like fashion, and suspect with mature code will even be better. Doesn't need a lot of toys or nonsense, though some games benefit from them. It's the straight ahead approach and theme that does it for me.
( a rookie's take.....lmfao)

They're just agreeing with you so you'll shut up about how much you hate it
At least the haters have the decency to stick to the hype thread and not spoil the owners club.
You guys that dislike the game, that is fine everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I absolutely love the theme and flow of John Wick. The game is fast paced and non stop action. Has some of the best call outs to date.
There is no wood chopping here, the story can take many directions. When code is completed game will be awesome.
I'm not here to justify my love for the game and have been in the hobby collecting for 40 years and playing pinball for over 50 years, im turning 60 in a couple.
John Wick Pinball reminds me of what Steve Ritchie, one of my all time favourite designers from back in the day would do.
This layout from Elliot is elegant, it works and has class with a 2 flipper no BS approach. No 3, 4 or 6 flipper design needed here.
I am greatly looking forward to code completion and expect John Wick to be a keeper.
Good luck with that. even if they worked they would be lighter and so make the game even faster!
All the shots are makeable already.

yeah I completely disagree and historically that is easily disproven, no matter what the game is.
Quoted from mdeslaur:They're just agreeing with you so you'll shut up about how much you hate it
Oh look another owner lol. I tend to be over playing other games minding my own business when I hear the gripes. Or the groans when people get put on it in tournament. Or when I'm doing "market research" for my friend who is the operator and I ask people which games they are enjoying. Nice try though, and pretty funny joke
I waited patiently for Bond to feel like a Bond game. Yes, there needs to be more Bond girl code/multimedia but I jumped on a premium a month ago because the game is pretty damn good now. However, I worry about wick's bones and the early decisions that were made but I'll be doing the same.
New code update hype
Reading the patch notes, I like how they changed car multiball to give a greater sense of progression through a long game. And the LIGHTS OUT playfield x makes timing the completion of the YAGA lanes a bit more interesting.
I see the changed the enemy logic again to make it more simple. They really seemed to have completely overhauled that system from what was initially pitched. But I don't blame them. I think people will prefer this direction. I don't think the original idea of a bunch of different timers and "hey you're shooting this shot a bunch, we're going to punish you by putting more enemies there" is actually fun in execution or easy to explain.
Now if they could do something to make the sound package more exciting and lively...
I'll give the game another go this weekend
Quoted from Gamingrulin:John Wick is looking good needs a few things still but preety decent for where it is at.
Agreed. I was already really enjoying Wick. The new code makes it even better. When it’s all said and done, I think this game will be great…just like the developing code made Bond awesome.
