I have sent several emails and phone calls to John to no avail. He has $400+ worth of my boards. He has had since October 2016. For months he let me know they would be done soon. I have spoken to other people and he has their money as well. Sometimes people actually get the roms they ordered from his site but it takes a while. Others are not so lucky.
I am a reasonable person if one has a crisis or family issue. I just expect communication as any customer would. I entrusted this individual with my customers boards and I had to delay their repairs and use my own stock to get them running which doesn't make me look good.
I do not have any ill will as I dont know the situation. I do however believe if an individual has time to post on facebook (Aug 17th) the least they can do is keep their customers updated and respond to emails/phone calls/fb messages.
    - Just please send my boards back . I will pay return shipping. JR

I just got a tracking # from John - Myself and a friend had over $1000 in boards there since Jan. We finally threatened legal action and were a day or two from a visit with the police. Didn't want to do that, but with no communication from John, it's what we had to do...

Will consider doing the same. Don't want to though.

There is an another way to send a message - if we all stop doing business with him in the future. Good luck getting your stuff back.

That's hard if you're "not in the know." His website is still up and he is accepting payments, and it sounds like the boards were sent in good faith before he "went dark."

I have done this. I now buy my roms from action pinball and I'll send boards to ardvark or Chris hibler if needed.

I like chris's work as well. Very thorough and clean work. Emails updates and fair pricing. He will getting my business from now on. I use boygard as well. I used to be able to fix this stuff but with my aging eyes it's getting tougher..

Do you really think the police would have done anything?

Not hardly. Police don't get involved with petty stuff like this. Not unless you paid the $120 or so fee to have the sheriff serve them with a summons to appear in small claims court. That's where you settle disputes like this. Then of course you would have to appear too in order to get anything if they don't settle with you before the court date.

Yes, police escort and he would have got felony charges since the boards were over 1k

Zero chance of that ever happening.

This bums me out to no end. He's a great guy who gave a great service to this hobby and helped me on numerous occasions. So sad this happened.

Were the boards fixed? Or untouched?
Dont know what his deal is, but hes let me down this year and i had to move on.

I recieved the boards back untouched as I sent them. A thanks to John for finally sending them. I wish we were offered some explanation as many of us have supported his company for years and would understand if the issue was explained.

Thanks bro. Very familiar with this fiasco and involved first hand. First it was web site, then his ebay name, got burned both times. I wish him the best, but at this point forgiveness hard given any situation. We all have problems, life can suck and throw you a million curveballs, but by now he could at least said ...i need a year off guys....thats all, would have been that simple.

Chris Hibler in St. Louis MO is the guy. Contact Chris and see if he will take the work.

i agree 100% with you. Just a little message or something up front, would have saved a lot of us the headaches.

How did you get a hold of John to get your boards back?
I've sent emails for updates and to have the boards returned but I never get a response. Certified letter?
Could someone message me his number to reach him?

    #24 6 years ago

Another shout out for Chris, excellent board work.

    #25 6 years ago

Chris is the best - highly recommened.
