Matrix
Quoted from vid1900:2017 and "edgy" can only = Girls Gone Wild 20th Anniversary Edition Pinball !!!!
With the national #1 earning success of WNBJM , GGW would be a natural.
With over 200 DVD titles, there is lots of of talent for ZY to draw from.
Lots of "talent" but I might prefer clip art for that particular title!
Besides isn't GGW too 90s?
Maybe MFC (with live streaming LCD insert) is the solution?
Either way I'd have no problems keeping my eye on the boob... errrr... I mean "ball"!
Quoted from c508:Lots of "talent" but I might prefer clip art for that particular title!
ZY loves his pink and pastel colors...
Pee-Wee's Playhouse would be awesome, and apparently Paul Reubens approached Stern about it and was turned down. The toy possibilities are endless. Talk about pure fun.
Edgy with Zombie Yeti art?
The Dark Tower series to coincide with the upcoming film in January 2017.
Quoted from bobbyconover:Pee-Wee's Playhouse would be awesome, and apparently Paul Reubens approached Stern about it and was turned down. The toy possibilities are endless. Talk about pure fun.
Are you serious? Wasn't he arrested for wacking it ?
Quoted from whitey:Are you serious? Wasn't he arrested for wacking it ?
Wacking it would be one of his more socially acceptable arrests:
Quoted from ChadH:Why is Aliens in this poll? That game is already in the works from Heighway.
For stupid reasons....hopefully, the people that voted for it won't be forced to play it or even have to see it.....just wrong, man.....
Quoted from Moli410:Shut up and take my money if Stern does a Back to the Future!!! I'd buy it in a heart beat!!
This is one of those themes where common sense would go out the door with me on a pinball purchase. Theme alone would sell it to me. Stern would have to screw it up pretty bad for me not to buy a new BTTF pin.
All the songs in that Trudeau video were also in the HBO series Vinyl by Martin Scorcese.
It's edgy, for sure.
True story:
None mentioned in the poll would excite me, not even a little(edgy?...not). Mad max however, that'd be amazing!! Also on board with evil dead, army of darkness, warriors.
There's no way they made Ghostbusters because of the reboot.
I also don't think there has to be a reboot for there to be a pinball machine. GB is based on a 30 year old movie which proves what is important to the people who buy pinball. I think we will see more themes based on that 70s to 80s time period. It will be interesting to see if any element of the rumored Star Wars pin includes The Force Awakens or just the original trilogy.
I think if Stern decides to do another 80's re-boot the only contender is Back to the Future. It has that nostalgic following like Ghostbusters does. I would love to see a Goonies or The Lost Boys but they are not even nearly the same in terms of popularity for the masses.
Quoted from Rum-Z:I guess I'll probably just give up hope of there ever being a Waltons pinball machine.
That's about the only theme that has a chance to get my wife interested - "John Boy Multiball!"
Quoted from freakandgeek:Spinal Tap!
only if it includes a 18cm tall stonehenge on the playfield!
Quoted from JonH123:Where do I vote for Jurassic World?
The Game of Thrones manual refers to the dragon as the "raptor toy". If you take the wings off you can kinda see the resemblance to a velociraptor. I have a theory that they were working on JW and then something happened with the licensing.
Quoted from dmbjunky:There's no way they made Ghostbusters because of the reboot.
In one of the many video interviews/podcasts (cannot remember which one), it was mentioned that Ghostbusters was one that was on the wishlist for a while, but Gary didn't want to do it until it was more current (waiting on a sequel or some new movie). So the reboot probably had at least something to do with it getting made now.
Planet of the Apes would work great as a theme...
One thing that bothers me about games with modes based on 'scenes' from movies is how they don't transition well.
In WOZ for instance, you get to liquidate the witch mode and it drops you right back into the regular game.
With PotA, there is that built in time cycle/loop of the movie sequels so once the last mode is complete it will flow right into mode 1 again.
I agree with the love for
Rocky Horror
Blade Runner
Goonies
Beetlejuice
Spinal Tap
5th Element
Army of Darkness
I'll throw a couple others out there:
UHF. It's not in the same universe as any other movie mentioned, but it is 80s. And it has strong pin theme potential.
Spaceballs. Dark Helmet bash toy. Nuff said.
A-Team.
MacGyver.
Quantum Leap.
Sliders.
And maybe Dazed and Confused, just for the hell of it.
Quoted from MarkInc:Hellraiser: Pinhead ?
Another big head on the PF that shoots it SDTM!
Quoted from dmbjunky:There's no way they made Ghostbusters because of the reboot.

I just can't think of any Stern title in history that did not have a current incarnation to go along with the pinball machine.
As I understand your position, you believe that it is a complete coincidence that Stern happened to come up with the Ghostbusters license...correct?
Pete
Quoted from pmWolf:I still cannot figure out how the playfield glass would have worked in that game.
Pete
Just don't break it, because it would cost $$$ to replace....
(my guess is it would have been acrylic like Hercules)

And it would have to be two pieces with a seam in the middle...Semi-triangular?
Quoted from pmWolf:And it would have to be two pieces with a seam in the middle...Semi-triangular?
or 3 pieces (left playfield, right playfield, upper playfield)?
Quoted from j_m_:only if it includes a 18cm tall stonehenge on the playfield!

Sorry ... I made it 18mm.
I must have misheard.
Rocky Horror Picture Show seems like a bad idea. Don't want to sound like a jerk, but does it appeal to anyone under 50? I'm almost 40 and had never hear of it until people started mentioning it here on pinside. And when I google search it, it kind of scares me. I really don't want a Caitlyn Jenner pinball machine.
I don't think Rock Horror would have broad enough appeal for Stern to consider it anyway, but I could be wrong.
I was hoping JJP would do a Bond pin but after GB reveal if Stern keep putting this much effort into all their future releases I'd be more than happy to see Stern release a new Bond pin. What about Mission Impossible? The first was great, 2nd not so much, but 3 4 & 5 have been an absolute blast plenty of crazy action scenes and stunts that could translate to cool playfield toys and modes!
Quoted from mesmashu:Rocky Horror Picture Show seems like a bad idea. I'm almost 40 and had never hear of it until people started mentioning it here on pinside.
It's the longest running movie of all time.
It has been continuously running for 30 years.
2nd place is ET with 1 year.
3rd is StarWars with 11 months.
Quoted from mesmashu:And when I google search it, it kind of scares me. I really don't want a Caitlyn Jenner pinball machine.
Don't be afraid to give yourself over to absolute pleasure.
The movie celebrates every possible sin:
Lust
Gluttony
Incest
Transvestism
Bondage
Homosexuality
Playing God
Murder
Cannibalism
Adultery
Fetishes
Agalmatophilia
Kidnapping
Raygun Violence
Drinking
Smoking and Drug Use
Folk Dancing
Honestly, give it a try!
