Quoted from vid1900:Everyone in the States knows who Godzilla, Houdini or the Mafia is.
No one knows when Oktoberfest is.
Everyone at church this week was angry that Disneyland is going to start serving Beer to the general public

All this talk about the music. A lot of Polka music, and other German traditional music, would get so old so fast. That’s why no one ever listens to it and why it’s rarely played or used for anything.
Sure, it can be charming here and there, in the appropriate setting. But in my basement, for months or even years, while I’m trying to enjoy pinball? I don’t think so.
From an art standpoint, this is no more convoluted than GB or Deadpool. The art is totally fine. Even good maybe.
This game looks RAD and I can’t wait to play it! Hope it’s as fun as it looks.
Quoted from colonel_caverne:that is what I’m saying. The choice of the music seems to be destined to the US market, not European one.
I guess? I remember traveling to France back in the 80’s, and you always knew when a French artists song would come on the radio (pop radio) because at some point during the song - modern with electric guitars and synth riffs - the accordions would kick in. It never failed. When I was in France this year, I don’t think I heard one accordion. On the radio or off.
Definitely need oompah music in the game, as well as modern music. Are you telling me that contemporary bands don’t play Oktoberfest? And that all they have is traditional/polka music? If so that’s pretty antiquated.
Quoted from konjurer:Callling it “metal” is kind of a stretch. It more like hard driving guitar, video game music. Besides, Josh already stated that there are going to be 4 main themes and you only heard one theme. There’s music more to come.
Is it like the music on SM? I hated that music when I first played the game. It was partly why I didn’t want to buy it. Once I got used to it, I thought it was pretty rad, and very well done, and it didn’t bother me at all. That’s often how things go. You come to love what you used to hate, and you come to find what you throw away (that’s a Matthew Sweet lyric that I’ve always liked).
Quoted from knockerlover:Few more pictures from launch night. I was “Frist!” To play right after roger. In a group of four it was a blast. Player before me on ball one got a ball locked in the barrel (physical lock woot!). I spent the next two balls trying to perfect the left orbit to upper right flipper shot and locked another two balls stealing his lock to start multiball.
This game is going to be a lot of fun to drink beer with friends, play one handed, and fight over locked balls..

That barrel lock is pretty cool, but I really would have liked to see balls locked in a stein. 1, 2, 3...and then the stein spills forward for...MB! The stein would look like its full of beer anyway, but when balls enter it they look like big bubbles or something.
