I vaguely remember reading that there might be 2 different versions of the machine (one for adult, and one more family). Was that just referring to the ability to change callouts in the settings or was it more of an adult artwork package? Or neither...

Thanks @rosh @pinballer31520 and @ferret for your help with the dimensions for the Oktoberfest machine. I built the topper today out of approx 60 year old beer signs (customized with some photos of me with a group of friends and others I wish were friends at Oktoberfest) from my Dad's beer distributor in Allentown, PA.

Now all I need is the machine to put it on. How long til Pinfest?!

I've got about 20 machines ranging from Big Bang Bar to Munsters to all the Playboys. There has never been a machine that my friends have been more excited about me getting than Oktoberfest. I've been to Oktoberfest in Munich and to many in the US. And as shown in that great video from @ferret, there is way more to Oktoberfest than drinking beer. It actually is one of the largest carnivals in the world.

So while some people don't get it, I do. And my normal, non pinball geek friends do. And my buddy that owns 2 hipster brew pubs (that make horrible IPAs, in my opinion) is going to add this as his first pinball machine to his places.

This machine is about a fun party, and kudos to AmericanPinball for nailing it. The tents..the carnival rides...they get it.

If there were just a few more boobs...

Quoted from rosh:

well, I am pretty confident if made it just about beer, this thread would have hundreds and hundreds of posts complaining about how it is not remotely close to being reflective of Oktoberfest. Especially our German friends. And even with us being as true to it as we could, I've had folks come up to me to point out things that were not quite accurate.
To be honest the game would have also been a lot less interesting to develop and probably a lot less interesting to play, and suspect the sales would have been less as well.

Absolutely agree 100%. I woudln't be buying it if it was just beer. That is kinda boring. And for the boobs...well, I already have an alternative backglass in the works like I did for bm66 https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/nsfw-bm66-batman-alternate-translite-censored

I love this machine. I was lucky enough to be able to purchase one at the show today, and it is now set up in my game room with the topper I made from my Dad's old beer signs.

Great sound, super fun play, and overall a beautiful machine. Kudos AmericanPinball

I posted a video of the topper before, but here is a quick video of it installed. it fit on the machine perfectly.

Just played a few games and turned off "family friendly" mode.

2 great quotes:

when in bumper car mode "Inga is ready to bump, are you?"

and

"Is that a sausage in your pocket or are you just happy to see me."

great stuff. keep the humor coming!

Quoted from Roostking:

Effing bad ass topper!!! And game room!!

thanks. it has some sentimental value as the lights hung in my late dad's beer distributor about 50 years ago.

ps. love this Oktoberfest!

Quoted from Yelobird:

That is just plain awesome and the sentimental value is a really cool thing to do. love it.

Thanks! and the picture rotating on the sign in the center is me and a group of friends at Oktoberfest in Munich!

now we just need some cool mods for that machine...hint hint..
