Does this game have any orbits?
Quoted from DCFAN:It is going to be real interesting comparing this game in features and price as compared to the so-called next great Stern that is soon to be announced, the Munsters.
It would have been nice if they could have announced the price on Oktoberfest tonight.
Them confirming it's about the same as Houdini (but not locked in yet) means it's extremely unlikely to be LESS than $6,995, and probably something like $7,195 or $7,295. Still a pretty great deal for all the stuff packed in there.
Still hoping they offer an optional LE trim level from the factory that has magic glass, knockers, real cliffies, and art blades all installed at the factory so it comes ready to play.
Quoted from DCFAN:Does this game have any orbits?
It calls for you to make orbits, so probably, but I never saw any go all the way around.
Quoted from PinMonk:It calls for you to make orbits, so probably, but I never saw any go all the way around.
Sorry, just had a flashback to the old Dialed In there.

Perhaps the ramp lifts to expose the orbit?
Quoted from DCFAN:Perhaps the ramp lifts to expose the orbit?
Maybe. Watched for quite a while and eventually the bad metal on too short a loop made me turn the stream off. I liked just about everything else I saw, but that music has be be changed/fixed for the actual release.
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:Left ramp looks to be the longest and coolest ramp in all of pinball.
The ramps and wireforms look really cool. Something I did notice while watching- twice when them ball came up from the vuk in the center and went down the left wireform, I'd swear, it hit the playfield glass at one point. Not at the vuk upwards point, but down closer to the left flipper....
Like the clearance between the ball/wireform and glass was a bit to close.
Layout looks great most music was spot on. Theme turns out to be a win in my book. Lighting is much better on this game then Houdini. (Still lacking flashers) Looks fun and yes I will be owning a few for sure. Only problem I see is with some of the animations. Not on par with Stern or JJP. Still seems unrefined and a bit sloppy in areas. I know this is not final code and the company is still new. Needs some works in that department. Other then that much better then Houdini and a breath of fresh air. Great job!!!!

For a second offering, they are so much ahead of many of the other 'boutique' pin manufactures out there.
And when does the line cross between boutique and large production? How many?

Could be an intentional harkening back to whitewater.

Yah the LCD animations need a lot of work.
Looks like a really fun game with tons to do. Wizard modes sound very challenging to achieve.
Looking forward to seeing how the code develops and to opinions of guys at the show who got to play it.
Quoted from jester523:It was the Bavarian flag, no?
Oh I'm sure it makes "sense" but I'm just not into flipper coverings.

Oh really? Didn;t have an early IMDN huh...Fatass running?!? How soon they forget
Quoted from DCFAN:Perhaps the ramp lifts to expose the orbit?
On a close up picture it shows the left ramp lifted up to expose an orbit.
I'm impressed haven't seen full video but I already looked the theme.... It's beer and pinball what is there not to like and it has a lot of shots including my favorite 180 ramp. Attention gained from me on this one
Why are all the women facing away from me? Slingshot plastics too! I get the attitude in today's society and I do respect women. I also respect there beauty and like to see them head on, and look at there eyes. A lot of ass in that backglass.

you're not an ass man?
AP and the team should be proud. Looks like they did a great job and learned a lot from Houdini. Well done with this title so far chaps.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:Game looks pretty cool and appears to have a lot of features! Seems like a lot of fun at first glance.
Agree seems like new ideas and stuff hope it plays well.
Game looks super fun. I haven't seen any video yet, just the pics, but I'd shoot that.
I wanted to make a game with a player controlled magnet at the top of the orbit, curious to see how the idea works in practice!
Looks super cool, this is what I wish Maiden had a ton packed in it. And I wanted a Maiden pin for years as my first CD I bought in high school but always have gone to my favorite local Oktoberfest since College days. Just went last week, really hope it plays or flows well as the only thing some other companies can’t get is the flow of Sterns games but they sure pack in more.

Here’s some pics I took in the meantime...

This pin looks great. Can’t wait to play it!! Nice job American Pinball.
The whole package look great.
Yeah, this one looks way cool.
Finally another new game with a theme I can relate to and wouldn't be embarrassed to have in my house.
The metal music is a real turn off. Watching the game play vid does not remind me of being in Munich for Oktoberfest at all. Sad
They have brought back light hearted fun into pinball for sure.
This is going to do a lot better than predicted.
Please consider black powdercoating and trim?
Brown and blue - really?
Quoted from tacshose:The metal music is a real turn off. Watching the game play vid does not remind me of being in Munich for Oktoberfest at all. Sad
There are 5 main tracks for the game, only 1 in at the moment I think. Happy
Impressive, it’s beautiful, appealing and looks fun to play. Cant wait to put my hands on that one !
Quoted from FalconPunch:There are 5 main tracks for the game, only 1 in at the moment I think. Happy
Hopefully the metal theme is a placeholder. It doesn't fit the tone of the game at ALL and is very repetitive and annoying. Some of the mode themes are quite nice, though.
I think overall this a great package, and few of the theme's biggest detractors are likely to air the same views now.
There are a few misses and things which could be improved before production, however. Will give my thoughts and some criticism later once I've rewatched the Dead Flip video.
Congratulations, to the team at AP, in my view this will be a very strong selling second game for them and a hit with players.
Looks awesome!! Congratulations to American Pinball on another great achievement!
I'm excited for this one especially because we operate games in so many breweries. I think this will be a hit with their customers and will tie in well with the spaces provided in each.
Abel Electronics get my order ready! Cant wait!!
After watching the Danger video, one thing is for sure, American Pinball is now a fully legit Pinball Company in my book. They have created two games that deserve praise, which is not easy. Although I won’t forgive the theme, Joe and team did a great job! The layout of the game is interesting and packed!! Music is fantastic and not what I would expect for the theme, but it definitely works for pinball.
Well, I must say I’m not disappointed and it is great as my expectations were high.
I love all what I see, the unique layout conception, 3 ramps, tons of mods, art is really great and very colorful.
Now I have some question, sorry if it has been already mentioned.
Is it standard size or wide Body?
What would be the price?
When would it come into production? Right now?
I may have a little complain but not sure as I did not have seen it in play already, the playfield seems to lack of lightning except in the background of the playfield. What do you think?
Is it a lifting ramp?
Thanks
Édit: just saw a little video of the game in play at show, is it rock music I can hear?
Quoted from colonel_caverne:Is it standard size or wide Body?
Standard - the rest I have no idea.
Nice game, cool layout, artwork is good, modes are good, looks to be a lot fun
negative things for me:
- the rollercoaster lock and jackpot animations look bad imho
- the metal music i don't know. It doesn't give you the feeling being in Munchen at the wiesn
Funny how the multiball picture is a picture from the late 80s/early 90s mixed with more modern fair rides.
If you wanna do it good for the coaster make it look exact like the alpina bahn or the olympia looping
Animations looks like an old computergame for Windows 98 and the music doesn't fit at all. Besides that.. wow!
But more oompa oompa-music please
Damn, I was afraid of that - the player-controlled magnets idea is exactly what I wanted to do on Circe's Animal Alehouse first.
Game looks super fun though. Really colourful and inviting.
Quoted from DavidPinballWizz:- the metal music i don't know. It doesn't give you the feeling being in Munchen at the wiesn
That is exactly my point. I don’t know if it is definitive or not, if it is a commercial choice for the US market but as an European costumer, for german fellow in particular, it looks odd.
I was away last night so missed all the excitement but just caught up with the thread and checked out a bit of the deadflip stream.
Congrats to the whole AP team for a successful debut. Catching up on the thread the buzz is definitely well in the positive side. I look forward to trying the game when it makes it to the local Player One show room.
