I have a JM that has reset twice now in attract mode, with the reset, all settings and scores reverts to factory defaults. Is this an MPU issue?

Sure sounds like it is the MPU. Board has or had alkaline damage, NVRAM, or batteries?

Please clarify your issue .
Powers on normally , play game . All normal game ends .Then sitting at rest trying to entice you into another game the settings " revert " factory default ? Power on continuously.
Or.
Your machine in attract mode . Display blanks , reboot sound . Comes back to life having lost its settings ?
Does it occur often ( frequent in use or once blue moon )
In overall scheme things reversion easier to resolve than intermittent resetting ( crash )

Be well Shane

Batteries, no acid leaks.

Game plays fine. Resets are intermittent and happened twice in the span of a couple of weeks. The game reboots, comes up with a credit dot to set time/date and I have to redo all my game settings. I've never seen it happen, I've only heard the boot beep and hand calibration when it comes back up.

Is it possibly the 5V power reset? Maybe try a Kahr?

NO.

Fix the problem the right way. Go to PinWiki and systematically deduce the problem. That "miracle board" will fail too. Maybe in days, maybe in years, but it WILL fail.

I had this exact issue on my TAF, and that board did nothing to fix the problem. If it is the same problem I had, my problem was on the mpu board. Ended up being a combination of terrible IDC connectors needing to be replaced and components on the board needing their solder connections reflowed.

No it is not.

Regular 5V resets usually don't nuke your settings.

Thanks, I'll take it out and inspect.
