Have I moved into a parallel universe?
Stern adds features back into it's Pro - metal rails etc.
JJP starts removing mechs from their game!

Quoted from Yelobird:Hoping some how this is simply a delayed April fools joke or that Eric is just a funny guy at heart. Plan to verify that I can and most likely will pull my CE order with this news. CGC your up! Unless of coarse your going to reveal Monster Bash with muppets instead of monsters at production. This is just plain crap news. I do feel for Eric, Joe, and Keith because they have Clearly put their lives into this game but this is just an epic fail. Trunk sure, but the spinning map converted to Dominos pizza art is just no go for 12.5! The game at 257 played great and the randomness of the spinning disks even while not Programmed was just plain cool! Please say this is just a joke!!! Change the start of your video from Arrrrhhhgg to Umphhhhhh!
Pizzagate.
Eric was really proud of that mech so hard to believe he made this decision. More likely the bean counters.
Start at 41 minutes.
Certainly looks expensive but if used infrequently, surely it would be fairly reliable?
Listen to Eric's words.
He says he is very happy with the change to the chest.
As for the artwork for new disc - just says, 'there it is'.
Hmmm, read into that what you will.
Quoted from pipes:Well, Eric mentioned to someone at MGC that the cheese pizza disc is the final version. That was posted in one of the threads somewhere. Hoping for anything else is probably a waste of time.
Depends how many order cancellations they get in the next few days maybe.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:Thanks! Yeah it would be cool to see the disk activate when the diverter on the maelstrom ramp activates like you said. There's no point in having the large single disk act like an inferior version of what once was which will be replicated virtually on the LCD. JP could probably design some really slick maelstrom animations that could take up the whole screen when the disk initially activates after the maelstrom ramp diverter activates. Hit the ramp, hold ball in the subway for a few seconds, play awesome animation on LCD with cool sound affects and then activate the disk.
Best idea so far that is possible in timeframe.
Could add some lightning inserts to create a thunderstorm effect.
Then have all playfield lighting go out so just the disc spinning with lighting and sound effects.

This stream was From 1st March 2018. See Eric’s comments at the 6 minute mark with regard the spinner reliability
Just makes no sense
Interesting indeed.
Maybe they found out it just costs too much to manufacture?
They would not admit this so it is just pure speculation.
Quoted from pipes:It's not unreasonable to wonder if production cost is more than what they had anticipated. Obviously they would never admit to that. I personally think the update video is a bunch of BS.
You beat to to it!
Too late for any more changes but I now think I would rather not have it at all and just have artwork - too late though.
I really think the new solution is the worst of all worlds.
So, the 3 didn't work, allegedly. If a feature doesn't work, get rid of it completely.
Solution.
Have no noisy disc - just the artwork and colored inserts in the playfield.
All the spinning takes place on the LCD.
No noise, no 1972 spinner, and it has the same aesthetic appearance that it had at reveal.
And zero maintenance.
Wouldn't this be simpler and look better?
I guess not as otherwise it would have been done. ( and if more development time try a magnet or two underneath ).
It makes sense to me. It looks the same as the original.
Then you make the virtual spinner into a feature that is totally new to pinball and promote that.
On the LCD it would be kind of similar to a wheel of fortune.
Maybe co-ordinate the compass dial to choose an item on the spinning virtual wheel? So the compass spins as the virtual disc spins?
People love wheel of fortune type spinners and it's kind of ready to be done ( minus the programming ).
I think it would add a ton of fun to the game and keep to the original idea.
Anyway what do I know!
It would seem there have been a ton of cancellations which may force JJP to change track again.
Things haven't been helped by Maiden being such a hit.
All JJP need is for MBR to be announced next week.
Can we just skip this game and move onto the next?
Boy, do JJP need to follow the Stern model going forward.
