It only makes sense that they have the playfields already done and sitting in their warehouse.
We are stuck with that round giant hole, not fit to do either LCD screen nor 3 spinning discs next to each other...bummer.....

No notification, Pinside it was.
But, Joe at PinballStar was nothing short of fantastic and I am determined to finalize all possible future purchases with him. He was fast, understanding and 100% professional. Both when I locked in the POTCCE and when I sadly had to cancel. Nothing but praise for Joe. I do not believe it was his to contact me and point out that now may be the time to rethink my JJP purchase. That should have been initialized by JJP which they did via their YouTube videos, in my opinion. No harm, absolutely NO foul here.

That is very unfortunate, at least in my case.
Shipping with the large cutout and a filler ring would have allowed for you, at a later date, to have released a "black Pearl Edition" with the original but now fixed 3 ring setup.
The early Adopters could have then purchased the 3 Ring system at a preferred price and swapped it in within minutes and load the Black Pearl code.
I would have purchased in that case. As it is my POTCCE remains cancelled, which sucks for me.
You guys know what the market wants, why not offer it and make sales down the road?
That would have been a win-win for both manufacturer and customer
