Absolutely amazing. I have a 3D printer if needed

Quoted from pinballj:I still need to do the final writeup, but here is a video of the final testing of the servo actuated open/close:
I apologize for the bad audio/video, but I couldn't find my USB audio in adapter. I had an ok game considering there was a mic stand with a phone in front of my face lol.
I can not wait for you to release the info for what’s needed. I’ll be all over this!
Quoted from KornFreak28:I’m confused, Do we have to print the bracket ourselves or is this bracket sold at thingiverse?
Thingeverse is a source for 3D files you can print yourself. He supplied the file for those who can print the bracket
I started the 3D print but unfortunately forgot to add support. 4 hours in I realized it was printing on air lol. To ad to it, I sold my 3D printer yesterday and am awaiting my new one to show up any day this week lol
Quoted from harryhoudini:Btw, if anyone has a CNC cutter and wants to cut a lid bracket I'll post the AI file I'm making for the CNC guy locally. Here's the basic shape based on my prototype. I need to refine, elongate the holes and contract some dimensions to give enough play.[quoted image]
I have a CNC machine...send me the file! Let me know what I should cut it out from
Quoted from harryhoudini:Oooooo shiny!
each one except one had some issue. The supports were taking off the little nubs to hold the wires
Quoted from PinMonk:I assume you're using PLA....
Don't need supports for them on most printers. Should print without them. Only the giant open area on the right of the upright needs supports. On my OCD version after these, I actually added a little wedge to the back side of the wire brackets to give it a little more heft.DEFINITELY doesn't need supports for the wire brackets on this. I have three of these for printing, so I know they work without supports for the wire brackets.
Are you using any particular settings to avoid printing support?
Quoted from PinMonk:Extension? I shortened mine...
It was in the original github bill of materials...I figure i can just use the 3 wires direct from the servo...
I went with (2) 6-32 machine screws thru the right side of the bracket and held in place with two nuts. It worked awesome and I’m not tapping into the metal which I like...just another option. You could use a 6-32 nylon nut if you’re worried about the nut backing off
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:did the github ever get updated with this? or forked?
I used the github for the entire process. Everything is there including the firmware for the nano
Quoted from Soulrider911:Yes but not the code for the RGB LED “heartbeat” the current code does not include this
that is something that Houdini is adding in his setup...not the original design
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:I get it. Seems like it would be something that should shared, since the entire mod is based on several different people's work.
It would be sweet if Houdini included it...but that's entirely up to him!
Quoted from PinMonk:Two questions on this video.
Why did you use the optional 4-way connector on the servo instead of the 2-way arm it also comes with?
Also, the Steel kwik-link rods come with an end that has a springloaded clip that can snap into the holes on the servo arms eliminating the need for any other parts to connect the rod to the servo arm. I used the second hole from the end and drilled it out a smidge more to make the rod move freely once snapped into the servo arm holes, but this eliminates one whole other part.
And here I cut off the threads LoL. It still is working perfect
Quoted from harryhoudini:Why's it a different harness?
I tapped into a connector near the Magnet at the back of the machine. On the SE, it just ends. The one I tapped into powers the depth opto in the SE

It didn’t need to pass thru as mine ends there. I’m sure on the LE, that harness goes somewhere...maybe to the star map?
Great...now that the chest mod is done, you need to finish the star map mod that folks paid for...I know I paid you weeks ago for it...id like to finally get mine!
Quoted from Zora:I think Scott has done a great job especially from the creative side. Creative people need some time. Don't put to much pressure on him. He has several projects running. Better getting a great mod later than an early mod with problems.
I'm not putting pressure on him...lol...he posted a comment weeks ago saying they would ship within 2 weeks...I paid for an item...I'd just like my item! I don't see nothing wrong with that...I've talked to Scott via email and on here...I know the chest mod took on a lot but sometimes you need to take care of the other orders that came in! (My original post was not meant to be a dick or sound like a dick..i just really want that mod installed...)
