If I have to I’ll buy a 3d printer just to have this haha, no joke

What I love most is how much more clear it makes when to shoot the chest... that’s one thing I still get thrown off on as you have to rely on inserts. Not only is is visually and mechanically awesome, it’s actually a gameplay improvement.

#177 4 years ago

buying a 3D printer just for this, that's how bad i need this in my game.

#253 4 years ago

Man I can not wait to get this in my game. So I actually have the majority of the parts so going to build my own... one key part I am still a little unsure on is the chest Bracket(s).

It would appear the original bracket on the trunk lid was modified, and another bracket was added and bent to a 90?

#256 4 years ago

the bracket may have been made but the main part in that picture I am pretty sure is the original trunk bracket?
i have a blow torch and that is how i would bend it... wonder if the bracket would be strong enough if 3D printed at high density.

#258 4 years ago

Great harryhoudini the part that I’m still confused on - and seems to be lightly documented and no stl file for is the trunk bracket not the servo mount. Do you have that file?

#260 4 years ago

Awesome harryhoudini I’m the meantime I ordered a replacement trunk lid bracket and going to bend mine and test then possibly see if I can make a 3D printed version that is strong enough, this would be great also as it reduces a lot of weight

#262 4 years ago

I’m still learning 3D printing but from what I gather the integrity and strength has a lot to do with the orientation of the part on the printing bed. Also the layer height, and infil (the density of the inside the walls) but as I said I’m kinda new to it

My 3D Printer is on the way! Pumped I wanted one anyway this just gave me more of an excuse to get one

#280 4 years ago

Think I’m going to fork the OP’s code and add support for toggling and led strip on and off for those of us that have an led strip in the trunk
Also anyone know where he sources the 5v power from? What connection on backbox?

#283 4 years ago

KornFreak28 he is making a bracket to hold the arduino for the chest meck

#301 4 years ago

Is the kit including the trunk lid bracket? Still yet to see that

#315 4 years ago
Quoted from Agima2000:

I have a power supply installed, so I am independent of the JJP installation.
Since I can safely divert my 12V and 5V for all mods.

Did you tap into the power box / line filter box?

#316 4 years ago

Looks awesome!! pinballj I think that will end up working great and be a significant weight savings.

#355 4 years ago

I’ve been thinking more about the power supply... could also get a 12v to 5v regulator and then just tap into any 12v source

So far so good servo working.

I agree this is complex, but I’m excited to get it going... however I’m more into DIY “projects” and I know that’s not for everyone

harryhoudini this one comes up as 3 position

I have a pretty accurate ai version as well based off the original bracket to the 1/4 mm

#418 4 years ago

Test print, arm needs to be longer

Hahaha nice harryhoudini I’m liking your bracket design looks great. I’m just doing it for fun... first time using s 3D printer, kinda fun to measure and print tests

#441 4 years ago

Nice! I was going to mention this, looks like the denounce added solves it?

#450 4 years ago

I’m using pla, with a small spine... it’s string as heck and is only 3mm thick.

#458 4 years ago

Are you powering the arduino through the usb, or the gnd and VIN pin

#461 4 years ago

Awesome work! After about 4 hours of testing fitting, adjusting... think mine is a go! I’ll post a video soon as I get it rocking.

Lots of prototypes, but I got a solid final top bracket (4th one) with a spine and only 3.5mm thick

My chest is up and running!
Few things, make sure to relocate the trunk wire harness in front of the bracket (towards the trunk) to provide adequate room for the linkage. Also, I mounted my Servo to the inside of the mounting hole, I tried both and on my machine this lined up better.

I have one on route, in my game room lol. It has been working great no problem.

#478 4 years ago

I think it is interactive in the sense that the led is RGB, and blinks with the heartbeat.

Currently I have a red one in mine and it looks great, but I’m going to upgrade to the programmable one harryhoudini is selling.

#486 4 years ago

Nice Trooper11040 now I j ow what you meant by the nubs breaking I have the older bracket

#525 4 years ago

Great updates. Hey harryhoudini where can I find the code for the Rgb light? Thanks

#533 4 years ago
Quoted from Trooper11040:

I used the github for the entire process. Everything is there including the firmware for the nano

Yes but not the code for the RGB LED “heartbeat” the current code does not include this
