Well that would be really really weird.

Quoted from Fizz:But if it's based on toy story 4....
Well that would be really really weird.
Quoted from PinMonk:Every designer recycles elements... but it will probably be what his last 4 or 5 have been - recycled "greatest hits" elements from other pins of his. Harsh I know...
I always find it amusing when people act like the recycling just started recently in their old age.
I missed what Wonka was a rip of...CSI? Not that i think it's that great or anything...hmm maybe it is CSI
Quoted from PinMonk:Uh, The Shadow did it first and better.
Quoted from PinMonk:Every designer recycles elements (or mirrors whole layouts - I'm looking at you, Borg)....
Uh, every layout Borg had was ripped off from Lawlor and then swapped.
I thought we were talking aboot designers recycling their shit, but you just love reading yourself.
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:I can’t believe this imaginary conspiracy theory stuff is hitting a kid’s movie now.
Pillow huggers got all day to be paranoid.
Quoted from Richard-NBA-SF2:Wow! How much were the SE’s NIB of the older models upon release? Say GnR.
Quoted from konghusker:$6500 originally
Went up and down.
DI 8k. Wonka 7.5k
Quoted from romulusx:Jersey Jack could own the Texas Pinball Festival coming up at end of this month!
Could be a dark night for Stern!
Quoted from JakePG:What's the base model price on a JJP?
Unknown for this one.
Previously $7,500 for the last couple I think, 8K before that
Quoted from Coz:I just played and inspected a brand new GNR with Zach from Flip N Out at the Louisville show. The playfield looked great...
Phew, I thought they'd send a shitty one to the big show
Quoted from romulusx:I’m glad he brought the good one I have two people I know close by who got on a list for GnR.They said that Rush just didn’t cut it for them and the GnR was a lot better.
Oh I'd skip both for sure.
Monk is a nice soothing show to watch before bed. There's no real surprises; every episode is EXACTLY the same as the one before it.
Quoted from Seraph:... His Carnivale soundtrack is also very well done.
Too true; but man that show didn't do anything. Way too much thought went into it and not enough...well anything. Thats a rabbit hole of a wiki page.
Quoted from Seraph:I remember being really into it back when Netflix still mailed me DVDs. I remember almost nothing about it now, but I still have good impressions. I'm not sure what that says.
It started off really well but then petered out.
Quoted from KornFreak28:The Matrix would be better
Can you imagine the pissing and moaning around here fearing it would feature the newest one? Flashback to GB around here.
Quoted from yaksplat:If there are no SE's , wouldn't that just make all of the LE's into SE's? I mean if limited is the standard, then limited isn't limited, it's just standard.
Well because then it looks like a really high price for a standard
Quoted from Green-Machine:Hey Jack! Chime in!
It's almost like he doesn't have anything to do with the company anymore.
Quoted from ZoraShinoda:TS is their next game for sure and is based on all of the movies, from a source I talked to, he wouldn't give me anymore info as he is under NDA with JJP. Take that for what it's worth
Quoted from yancy:Don't worry manly man, you get to hit the pop-up girl in the face with your balls. No one's gonna confiscate your muscle car.
I mean owning a TMNT doens;t seem like much of a man card to me but YMMV
Quoted from zaphX:And that’s my point.
Judgement cast without even seeing gameplay much less trying it.
I guess the diorama crowd is disappointed.
Were you expecting a pinball release video to have no comments?
Quoted from shacklersrevenge:I don’t know, maybe I’m in the minority, but Toy Story 4 might be my favorite in the series.
The adventure takes place in an antique shop and carnival, so what’s not to love?
Um, yeah I can go with this as well. Plus it's the only one I've watched in decades so there's that.
Quoted from Darth_Chris:Keep thinking an SE model could have save this one.
So no jump ramp & troll pop up, smaller LCD for like 9k?
Ouch.
Quoted from clearstar:Toy Story has twice as much going on than SW Pro - or Premium.
To be fair @ over twice the price. Of course that doesn't equate to fun, SW is great & this could be as well.
Quoted from zaphX:Serious question. Why are the assets a deal breaker?
We are here to make pinball shots and achieve pinball goals, right? Not to watch the movie.
Ha funny, those days are long over sadly.
Just like people canceling music pins becasue it doesn't include the songs they want.
Quoted from PinMonk:To be actually fair, 2017 Star Wars Premium adjusted to 2022 dollars is $13,852.
Makes $12k Toy Story LE that comes stock with invisiglass and a shaker (~$400 extra on Stern) look like a bargain, eh?
We must be using diff'rent inflation numbers. My '17 Pro cost 6150ish in '22 dollars lets call it 6600 with shaker/glass.
I'll admit number crunching is far from my strong suit though.
17 prem, even @ MSRP which wasn't a thing would be $8,573 from what I'm seeing.
Quoted from Nstone4425:Have we forgotten 2018 Beatles Diamond for around 15k? Lol
No we didn't & no one bought it.
Quoted from Nstone4425:Let's be honest Seawitch did it better.
As much as i hate that era Beatles, and the price tag, Beatles is a MUCH better machine than Seawitch...but a lot. And I love me some classic Sterns.
Quoted from PinMonk:You can't compare a Stern Pro to a JJP LE.
Yes I understand the levels but I'm responding directly to him that mentioned a pro & Premium SW.
Quoted from manadams:Nothing says Toy Story like Gabby Gabby multiball!!![quoted image]
Better than "Kids MB" Isn't it?
Quoted from romulusx:It’s one thing to try and make valid points, but your post is just childish
Classic.
Quoted from pinballaddicted:Toys, Sculptures and Mechs do not bother us as long as the game is good. I feel like this is a cash grab too.
There will always be the group of peoples whom's childhood was ruined by a release; it's unavoidable these days.
Quoted from delt31:This video was disgusting. Even for SDTM - this is an entirely new level of shill to the point where it literally was a commercial that ended with a, “Where can I buy this? Well - at FlipNOut pinball! ...
Sooo.....like literally every other video for a new release they've made since buying FlipnOut?
How is this new in any way?
Quoted from Thunderbird:... here’s an honest TS4 review from a guy that’s one of us
Zach is running a business so he has his angles which I can understand at least.
I'm only just old enough to sort of remember the Andy Griffith show, so this short bus Mayberry review doesn't quite click with me.
Quoted from blacklightprod:This post right here SUMS UP ALL THE NEGATIVITY! But First Delt is a totally Kaneda Shill so if he hates the game Delt hates the game. Delt is just a loudmouth who likes to pretend he’s something special. I’ll never forgot his one chance for fame to go head to head with Zach and he sounded like a goof. I can’t take anything he says serious.
Anyway back to my original comment. This guy here ‘Pinball Wiz’ summed it up best. He’s bashing on Zach’s review of the game while at the same time he says it won’t change how he feels about the game, but admits he has NOT NOT NOT played it yet because he says he’s going to play it this weekend.
Yo WIZ… before you’re almost positive you won’t buy the game PLAY THE GAME first. Don’t you test drive a car before you buy it? Why wouldn’t you test drive a pinball before you buy it??? The game is amazing, you can take it to the bank.
The game is just pure magic and you will discover that once you played it.
To all the negative people, just go play it give the game a chance to win you over, I’m betting you’ll have a change of heart. Personally I liked Zach and Gregs review and found it to be dead on the money. I’m not sure I’ve ever agreed with Zach before so this might be a first. I thought he was totally honest, despite trying to sell you a game at the end. But honestly that is his business, you know that going in so it is what it is. But the review was very accurate after you’ve played the game.
Remember the glorious 6 days Dr Frightener was gone?
Quoted from RobbyIRL5:So now we have a bunch of grown adult males (I’m assuming) arguing over a game because of “toys”...
Now? Is this new?
Quoted from romulusx:I’m taking a wild guess here.I bet I can safely say you have nothing positive to say about JJP games and rave reveiws for Stern games right?
You should click on his games icon and it will save you from making wild claims that are wrong.
Quoted from Lermods:dialed in got hit pretty hard on release. Everyone thought it was a game about a cell phone, mom jeans and how out of touch pat lawlor was. How the tide has turned on that one.
Still sells for under MSRP though
Quoted from wesman:Dr. Frightner?
Correct
Quoted from yancy:Yeah, on Saturday night I hit it twice in two games.
What's the difficulty level? WOF or Big Guns?
Quoted from zermeno68:Seems this game needs to be loved for what it is. A simple shooter game with less Mechs...
Just like Munsters. So if you love that I guess you can love this.
Quoted from jfh:I’m sorry, Munsters is much better than TS4.
You don't have to be sorry.
Quoted from AJC3030:Basically from what I gather...
Buy it or don't, but play it for yourself and decide.
Thanks for that.
Quoted from Wariodolby:Steve’s new game game!
[quoted image]
I'll take a remake GNfR by SR; please!
Quoted from PinballZach:... and when multiball started the claw would take the locked balls out and drop them on the playfield one at a time...
There it is.
How long does the MB start/unloading 3 balls via claw take; like 4 minutes?
Quoted from AJC3030:Hopefully it's better than zeppelin, black knight , star wars ....
Oh man if it's better than SW I'll have to sell some games.
Quoted from PinMonk:The GnR SE pretty much proved this. It's the rarest version because almost no one bought it.
Heck I think DI proved this and there were only a couple light bulbs extra on the LE (PF wise).
Quoted from flynnibus:Drop the Powder, drop the shaker, drop invisiglass.. this is how they've always done it.
Shaker was on all models till Wonka which dipped in SE price 500 from DI.
Quoted from romulusx:When DI was released I considered an SE but the LE had enough on it to easily bump up to it.My wife and I discussed the differences between the three models and both agreed LE was the way to go.There was enough added features and the pricing wasn’t as crazy as it is now!
Toy Story pricing is ridiculous!!!!
I think my SE is the only one I've ever seen
Quoted from arcadenerd925:I tried to make it all the way through this thread...
my god why?!
Quoted from yancy:...I can't imagine...
Buying a pinball machine and not even owning a socket? Seems like thats where we are.
Quoted from monitorpop:Is this the official “you’re gonna need a 2nd playfield” marketing photo from JJP?
[quoted image]
Bwhaahahaha
Quoted from Wariodolby:Everyone seems to be saying it,but I don’t see any official announcement?
Well there's reality and then there's Pinside Reality.
Quoted from jfh:Most people new to the hobby aren’t going to start out paying $12k+ for a game.
I don't know, think we said the same thing aboot 6k, then 8, 9 etc. Then 8.5k plus a 1k+topper that may never come.
People are trying to spend 1k in mods whilst they wait for their games to be shipped.
Quoted from medeski7:...I'm new to the hobby and anticipated it would cost me $2-3K for a machine in decent shape when I got in a year ago....My guests are still shocked at how much I paid for a machine....
So....
1. You're new
2. You'd thought you'd only spend 2-3K
3. Then you spent over 6k for one
If you expected to pay 7.5-8K which is what JJPs where, then 12K isn't that much diff'rent.
Quoted from medeski7:... That said, I still can't wrap my head around spending $15K on a pinball machine.
Neither can I, but a lot of peeps make way more cash than me.
Quoted from j_m_:....that 4x your average spending range (12K) isn't that much of a leap
I guess you can explain were 3k is the average price of a new machine.
Quoted from manadams:...Why would I "scream" anything, are you doing okay?....
Clearly not.
Quoted from Ballderdash:That’s what the giant screen on the backbox is for... The iPad location should’ve been a mech.
So everyone would be happy if there was a Vari-Target there?
Quoted from Ballderdash:.. and adding unique sculpts in their place would equal closer to the 12k ask.
Yikes.
Quoted from romulusx:I’m pretty sure that Toy Story would not appeal to the the Stern demographic.I keep hearing kiddie theme from them on themes like this.
They're holding out for the real manly shit like He-man.
Quoted from DruTheFu:Don’t you go disrespecting Prince Adam!
No he's the hot one. He-man not so much.
Dialed in Flippers should be cranked way up left & right. Upper flipper is tough though becasue too much and it will make the sim shot even worse
Quoted from brucipher:That makes them stronger, sure...but they still have a different feel...
Well they are diff'rent; just like going from Stern to your TZ or SS
Quoted from brucipher:...but I still feel the flippers on that machine have a much different feel than my Stern, CGC, or Bally games...)
Yup.
They are not good right out of the box. We had a GNR that was just pathetic to shoot, didn't even want to play it. Quick crank up helped a ton.
Quoted from romulusx:Theres quite a few Toy Stories out there now. What’s the word on playfield issues if any?If the beautiful and flawless I want to hear about that too
That is a good question, what's the word on the street? The GNR was so brutal but mirco said he "fixed it." Haven't heard a lot of complaints so hopefully they are back to decent quality.
Quoted from romulusx:It’s possible we might find something else wrong though?
Seems everyone has enough already
Quoted from romulusx:I might be senile but that’s what I heard him say on the super awesome podcast
Could be a shortage of sarcasm emojis here
Quoted from iceman44:My GNRCE ...are beautiful and flawless.
You got lucky there Ice. Of course we had a SE so they probably let the garbage trickle down but it blew me away how shitty it was. And I'm putting that up against some horrid Stern PFs with chipping all over the place. GNR looked like a hastily done overlay.
Quoted from zaphX:Wasn't Godzilla last year? I seem to remember it winning several TWIPYs.
So quickly they forget the looong wait everyone had.
Quoted from ATLpb:Getting my own hands on it to tune the flipper power and level it combined with not having to wait forever at a pinball show is all the difference in the world.
Always makes a big diff'rence
