I wonder honestly if we have hit the upward peak of the upward curve. With the massive recession incoming I do not know
many people that can shoulder another price hike. That said with very few New Releases right now not sure that any route
owners can not pony up and pick one up. Looking forward to see what they come up with.. At this point with all the hoopla
can it be anything else than Toy Story or Buzz Lightyear?
All I got say is... Play it before you buy it folks..
I'm seeing used pinball prices starting to normalize a bit. Still some people late to the punchbowl out there but its happening.
Saw a few Rush Premiums and others going under NIB. .. The spooky games.. Some Williams WPC stuff priced within the realms of reason.
Some availability of NIB games once more.. Its happening..
Quoted from NashtyFunk:Most people in this hobby aren’t living paycheck to paycheck. If there are 3k TS buyers tomorrow I bet half of them lost $100k+ in the last two trading sessions.
Why not drop $15k on a toy if you can.
Prices may settle, but there’s not a huge crash coming to pinball.
I would say the % of people in this hobby that lost 100K plus in last two trading sessions are a very small % in this hobby.
There is a huge group of people that are just Average Smo's that skimp and save .
The NIB drought vs Recession vs Needful Things vs Sell Soul for JP game.. Hmnnn....
I know a couple folks thinking right now all I gotta do is flip 4 of these things and It's paid for.
I will be playing it at my local Barcade / or pay to play joint. Despite having a real big place in my heart
for Toy Story. Toy story inspired me to get into 3D animation a career that I'd eventually have to find
another career to fund pinball with.
Quoted from insight75:THIS! Are these games just not meant to be routed? Because I've had this same experience and it really surprised me.
We are lucky as all get out to have some JJPS games here in St. Louis to play. Kinda wish I had held onto my Wonka bar ramp game until they fixed an eased up on the rules.
Gah pre release distractions got get back to it before I find myself out of work. Recession is here.. It's not all doom and gloom .. It's just a different world ATM. Sell 3 games to buy one. Maybe it's time to buy some WPS and System 11 stuff as it comes up on second hand market.
Couple post back - when I got in this hobby I did not expect to make any money. Possibly not break even.. Then Covid happened.
Now you have a whole crowd of people in this hobby who have only seen the Top of the curve and not the bottom or game on the corner,
move it out of my house 'free' days. 1200 got you many games.. People now don't know that experience. They think
you can buy a CE, LE and flip em 1000s over cost. That sucks..
Pinball is not an investment at all. Some of us lucked out.
That said.. If you can afford one of these.. More power to you. I'll drop quarters or pay admission.. Thanks you rock
Obviously some of us are not the intended market for this game and won't own one
Couple of these are already available for play locally.. That is a very cool accomplishment.
The roll out seems to be going smooth any word on state of the code?
I certainly plan on playing this Friday at CP pinball near St. Louis. Despite it not being designed
for me I still look forward to checking it out.
Quoted from AJC3030:Kind of off topic but you guys are mentioning that you expect TS to lose a few grand in the used market. With all the price Inflation going on right now , do you think BW titles are in for a tumble as well ? Or do they stand a better chance of holding ? I'm seeing creatures sell for 9-10 k lol
Are you seeing them sell. Or are the listers just taking down adds because they sat for so long?
What they say and what they sell for are two seperate things.
Fools
Quoted from Noma2017:Disagree. I would recommend playing the game, watching gameplay video or trying to sift through a review of someone who actually played the game. Neither one of the hosts of this podcast had played the game. One host had only seen Toy Story 1 and the other said he was a fan of 1-3 and saw parts of 4. He also said that Toy Story 4 was the worst reviewed and performing by far of all the movies. Just check rotten tomatoes and box office to fact check that one (4 in last place review but not by much). Also, lots of complaining about the tablet which could be justified if they had played the game and determined that it doesn't add value to the experience. They basically just summarized the common gripes on pinside (whether valid or not). I would prefer to watch a potential shill review along with gameplay videos but to each his own...
Guess you like watching Shark Vacuum and the Juiceman on TV informercials.
I love the Pinball Show but last episode was unlistenable. It was the Super Shill Happy Hour barf..
The Craig Bobby thing was just to to much.. I had to turn it off. - How much $ has JJP padded
this game price to drive sales and this much hype.
I did like the reveal stream... Very cool SPOOKY this is how you need to do it.
I've played game it's a super simple smooth shooter with amazing eye candy that just isn't for 50% of the people in this room.
Think the days of those prices are over.. I've been seeing alot of pins on Facebook Marketplace and other places selling way cheaper than pinside prices.
If your in a country that is insulated from the Recession that has hit now may be the time to buy. And it's hit like a sledgehammer to many of us average joes. Things NEED to get sold. I got a slew of machines I'm getting ready to put on the Market and I do not expect to realize what the market was listing em at 3 months ago. Kind wish I had trimmed the herd around Christmas 2021
Things have gotten real. Lot of bitcoin ballers an bankrupt..
