I've owned Wonka and I have about 30 plays on TS4. IMO this is a better Wonka, by a long shot. I'd call it a Wonka+ vs. Wonka Lite.

I have a Godzilla Prem and wanted to do my own analysis on the 2 packages ON A PRICE BASIS.

GZ Prem vs. TS4 LE.

To me price is a factor, but if I love and want the game (which I do) then I just have to decide if the premium price over a GZ Prem. Why GZ Prem? I believe this is the gold standard for 2022 price/value.

Here is my subjective analysis of the value benefits of each game and what it has to offer. Do you disagree with my value analysis or did I miss something? I'm happy to be swayed.

FWIW I have a CE on order and am considering an LE. I do love this game and will prob be picking up the LE (I like the blue package much better). Why don't I care that it's 2k more on a value basis? It's that much fun and I don't think it will take much to get some great TS1 and TS2 toys in there to address that part.

Last note: The screen in there doesn't bother me at all and I love the SFX + light show is sick!! If those things bother you then I think there is no other analysis that matters to you and appreciate that the $2k over price thing pisses you off.

Quoted from naf_llabnip:

Genuinely interested, why? I am heavily Wonka biased and think it is one of the best pins ever. Without playing it, TS4 looks like a Wonka lite to me ... but I need to play it. To those that doubt Lawlor, well, we all are entitled to our opinions, even if you are wrong

Yeah, based on looks it's Wonka lite. Based on playing it I'd call it a next gen Wonka.

Caucasian2Step has weighed in, most ratings on pinside, so worth a look.

For all those who haven’t played it yet it’s worth a read. Bottom line - you have to play it before you buy into all the bs above (for better or worse). Then form an opinion.

Quoted from yancy:

It's a hands-on review, with detailed & specific praise/criticism, the thing everyone claims to want. Read it. Or just wait & play your game, whichever.

Agreed. Too much unarticulated criticism here. We don’t all look at this from a buy or sell perspective. Feedback based primarily on price is getting old.

Quoted from Thunderbird:

Round 2 TS4 streaming: Karl did a good job trying to make a subpar poor quality TS4 look decent, but alas couldn’t be done even a second time. TS4 even went on the fritz before he was even close to finishing the stream. Karl was kind and tried to say TS4 probably shut down, because of a brown out. Even though all his video streaming equipment and computer, which are both far more susceptible to brown outs still continued to work flawlessly. Only TS4 shut down like a weak computer on the blink. Both TS4, computer and video streaming equipment were surely plugged into the same circuit. TS4 looked like a pile of electronic mess. But Karl did a great job as usual streaming. Flippers still looked weak…

Troll

Yeah. All this repeating your negative sentiment and basically celebrating/hoping that a $15k investment will drop by 33% overnight is not what a community needs. It’s trolling.

Quoted from Thunderbird:

That’s the whole reason for a forum discussion on pinball. Nothing personal to anyone, just fun discussing the dunderhead moves by some of these thoughtless companies. We are not against each other, rather, we are discussing companies that we do not own any stock or company profits. Calling each other trolls because we do not agree with their opinions is childish, designed only as a moronic put down. It happens a lot on this forum when the other person doesn’t know what to say at what they perceive as a negative to their precious company.

Not precious. Idgaf about JJP. I appreciate your comment though. Good to see another side.

Quoted from delt31:

I recommend listening to the latest eclectic gamers podcast for another really fair view on TS4. If you’re interested in hearing what non shills sound like, it’s these guys. No network needed of course. Dennis and Tony have a great show - I’ve been listening for a few months now.
https://eclecticgamerspodcast.wordpress.com/
Also - an interesting point brought up by those willing to just accept the ridiculous pricing…..they will just get that back when they sell - so who cares how much it is upfront right?
yeah right - good luck with that. The LE’s will drop like a brick and will be readily available at 10k or less in a year. CE market with 1k out there is already soft and will continue to weaken as folks try to flip but can’t. Jaws, BTTF, He-man - they’re all coming.
If you’re buying in now, just be prepared. No doubt, it’s a fine (simple, non complex mech) game if you can get over the fact it’s TS4, just not priced properly at all. Enjoy the podcast!
