As awesome as they would be, I am not expecting custom call-outs from Hanks or Allen.

I'd be good with mostly movie clips, they have a lot of material to work with there. Then supplement with somebody like Ratzenberger or Tom Hanks' brother.

Overall I'm not worried about call-outs or limited assets/IP. At the TPF seminar, Jack cited "full assets" as being one of the most important components of deciding what titles to create. They're not going to make games that they can't do "the right way." To me, that bodes very well for Toy Story.

If the development on this thing really goes back to 2015, then I can't see TS4 playing a major role. The movie was probably in development, but incorporating the upcoming movie into a new pinball machine doesn't seem super likely to me. Perhaps we get the TS4 characters incorporated, but an exclusively TS4 machine just doesn't add up. It would also give me extreme hesitation with a theme that is at the very top of my list.

TS4 is not Toy Story, period. I was beyond excited for this thing, and now am just disappointed. What a swing and a miss.

Don't think it's been mentioned, but the web page does say "Custom Voice Narration by Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear)". So that's good. But I'm still out on my planned CE.

Quoted from PanzerFreak:

Here's the crazy thing, Toy Story at Disney World is called Toy Story Land. Why couldn't this game be called Toy Story Pinball then? None of the rides are named "Toy Story 4 Coaster" or something like that. It's so odd seeing that "4" up there in the games title and having everything restricted to the 4th film. That along with the ugly 10" screen instead of an actual main mechanical toy = I'm out.

Because that's all the game is; Toy Story 4. It's a carnival sideshow with Toy Story adjacent characters that completely misses the heart of the first 3 movies.

"Toy Story Pinball" wouldn't be an accurate name, because it would imply something that this game (and Toy Story 4) clearly isn't.

Quoted from reffob:

this feels like a carnival theme with some Toy Story characters thrown in

This entire post is spot on, but this sentence sums it up for me.

As a carnival theme, it looks like a really fun game. The videos of gameplay are impressive.

But Toy Story isn't about carnivals.

This isn't the "Toy Story Pinball" that so many of us have dreamed of for years. JJP could have made a timeless classic about timeless characters and timeless stories.

Instead, we get the weakest film in the franchise (one which I saw once and will never, ever see again) featuring Toy Story adjacent characters. All for 12k/15k.

It feels like JJP got Disney'd into a corner, and the result is something fans don't really want. Speaking as a Disney World annual passholder, this is par for the course these days. Considering what could've been, it's a shame.
