This may be the biggest let down in pinball history ever. Just was on the website and looked through the features and photos and wow this is so underwhelming. I was worried the game was going to be completely unloaded from the creative mechanical toys side off things and it sure looks that way. Looks like it features as the main toy a LCD screen on the playfield which is so overdone. I guess video modes will be your main toy, WTF! Has 1 pop up head like NGG, a generic spinner disc and a jump ramp.
This is the one game if any that should have featured some creative mechanical magic under the glass and that seems to be a complete miss here. Also why isn’t this based off of the original movie????? Hopefully i’m missing something here. I am going to bed.

It is hard to tell from the photos how many ramp shots? 1 real ramp plus the jump ramp??

Totally agree.. not sure I'm a fan of the giant 10in screen the way its laid across the playfield ... I get it tho bc u play games on it..

But you have a massive screen on your back box you can play games on. The 10 inch lcd screen is a huge waste of space.

No magnets at all either? No drop targets? This is the most stripped down jjp game to date. Also hate that the whole top left of the playfield is nothing but a screen.

Played several games on it today.

Pros:
It does shoot well and the lighting is great. This is one of the prettiest games to look at. The ramps are smooth. I do like the lift ramp and the shot feels great. Even with all the lights the game to me is easier to understand what to shoot than GNR. The pinball video mode was pretty cool and i like how the bumpers in the video mode react with the real bumpers on the playfield.

Cons:
Game sounds i didn’t like as it really does feel like your at a casino. Flippers still don’t have that snappy feel stern has. This game to me had that floaty feel like some of the original JJP games had. Game is fun but not 12K fun and nowhere near 15k + fun for a CE. The jump ramp already has visible damage on the bottom left corner and wasn’t sitting flush to the playfield so I am worried that will not hold up well long term. Lack of interactive toys is a miss and the pop up face of the girl is just weird and not a satisfying shot.

Overall if this was priced around $8,500 or so I would be a buyer. I just don’t see the value here.

If we can just get Keith elwin to design a game at Stern and use the JJP lighting systems in his games, to me that would be the ultimate pinball machine.

Quoted from mbrave77:

was the damage to the ramp that can be replaced easily or the playfield itself?

The bottom left was slightly bent. Because it’s not sitting flush with the play field when the ball rolls over it, it’s damaging it. That’s what it appeared to me. Next time I go back I’ll take a photo.

And JJP is setting their pricing based on the shit they see in the secondary market.
That simple.
So instead of selling Toy Story for $12,500 so Chris can flip it for $15k they put it where it is.

They are shooting themselves in the foot.

Quoted from Pinball-Wiz:

Let's be honest here, it's not the "lack of toys" on this one, it's the Lack of toys FOR THE PRICE" and "Lack of toys FOR A JJP PIN".

I disagree, I strongly feel its all three. The game is Toy story 4. A movie about toys coming to life. Lack of toys is absolutely one of the complaints. This is the one obvious game that should’ve had some interesting toys/mechs.

I also don’t think it’s because of Disney. There has been several Disney games that had some awesome mechs, for example both pirates games from Stern and JJP just to name a couple. Where are the custom interactive mechs for the last 2 JJP releases?

Apparently Stern is the top company that works hard in the engineering department to create some cool mechs for their games. Loved Godzilla mechs, loved JP mechs.

I guess this is the new direction JJP will be going. What a shame

Please be sensitive to snowflakes. It resembles a giant IPad in your opinion.

If you take the glass off you will see that it is actually a touch screen!
