Quoted from LTG:Not that big of a draw in my business. I wouldn't replace it.
LTG : )
Besides that...we'll probably never see a new code update for POTC

Just my 2 cents....
I miss the old JJP....
Machines that had fully loaded playfields. Machines that had lots of new technology "toys".
This playfield looks empty compared to my WOZECLE & POTCLE.
In today's pinball market, I can see JJP charging maybe $8.5k for the LE, but $12.5k?...that's a easy pass.
Toy Story 4 makes my CGC CCRLE look like a better bargain than I had expected.
Quoted from JayLar:Really thought there would be more mechs on this game. Seems like the giant screen on the playfield took all the money. I would take mechs over extra screens anyday.
That big screen is meant as a distraction so that you don't see the missing playfield mechs...
I miss the old JJP.
Quoted from dnaman:POTC's audio is amazing. Need David back in a seriously bad way.
These pins are not and should never be consider on the same level as casino gambling games, yet here we are.
Totally agree
Quoted from PinStalker:I'm sure there are plenty of people who threw themselves into it. That animation looks amazing, but it also looks like a slot machine.
The truth is: The pinball makers know people want mechs. Pure and simple. What are they not making? Mechs. Should they get a hall pass for not making what they KNOW people want? Nope. They need to be beat over the head with it until they listen. Sadly, people will buy anything and there's no reason for them to listen to anyone at this point. Even sadder, they probably think they hit it out of the park since they sold out in 1 min.
Next time they'll be sure to have even more and larger screens since that's what players really want
Now we need someone else to come along and be the JJP replacement for what JJP used to be.
Couldn't have said it better.
When JJP first started, I was a BIG fan. I've only bought WOZECLE and POTCLE. I passed on the other titles because they didn't appeal to me. JJP stood for innovation back in those early days.
I've never been a big fan of Stern pins...the cost cutting that they do just turned me off...
I never thought I'd find myself saying this...You get more "bang for your buck" with Stern these days. I'm REALLY enjoying my Rush premium. At a cost saving of $3k compared to TS4, it's a no-brainer that Stern provides a better product.
My favorite is still anything that CGC makes. That's why I have a CCRLE on order.
I miss the old JJP.
Quoted from pinballaddicted:I think you may be listening to the MOANority a bit too much. Do what is right for you. This hobby is after all what is right for you and your family. I think the price is the main thing stopping sales. People are struggling to justify the value, me included.
Value?
We can all see the direction that JJP is taking. It's all about profit. Ever since the "bean counters" stepped in, JJP isn't the same company. That's truly a shame.
Quoted from jeffgoldstein2:I disagree, I strongly feel its all three. The game is Toy story 4. A movie about toys coming to life. Lack of toys is absolutely one of the complaints. This is the one obvious game that should’ve had some interesting toys/mechs.
I also don’t think it’s because of Disney. There has been several Disney games that had some awesome mechs, for example both pirates games from Stern and JJP just to name a couple. Where are the custom interactive mechs for the last 2 JJP releases?
Apparently Stern is the top company that works hard in the engineering department to create some cool mechs for their games. Loved Godzilla mechs, loved JP mechs.
I guess this is the new direction JJP will be going. What a shame
Totally agree....But had it not been for JJP, Stern would have never upped their game. At least we have that to be thankful for.
As for JJP, it's obvious that the "bean counters" call the shots these days. Jack's initial vision of fully loaded, modern technology pins is just that....a vision. The old days of JJP are apparently over. That's sad...
Quoted from iceman44:It was over 10 years ago with WOZ Indy. $6500 was unheard of then for a new game.
Jack said he wanted WOZ to be the least innovative game they make.
Not sure why people forget the outrage over price increases for the past decade every time it happened to now
I can remember people being pissed an AC/DC premium was going up $200. $6,400 if I recall.
Every single LE increase people bitched and moaned and laughed at those of us that kept buying them.
Demand, flippers and these guys making great games have caused prices to soar for the past decade.
Look at the Pinside Marketplace, it’s not one or two examples, it’s across the board and that right there is why prices are where they are at today.
Stern will 100% raise prices again.
It’s only gonna end when buyers stop buying in BOTH the NIB and used market.
Maybe this time it’s game over?
I think it is. The $15k mass produced pin market isn’t sustainable long term. I don’t care how much is in a game.
The “price bubble” is gonna burst. Grapple with that one
I agree iceman....That's another thing that JJP brought to pinball....higher prices.
My WOZECLE was my 1st NIB pin. At that time, I was really wanting a Scared Stiff, but people were wanting around $7k. At that price, I figured I might as well buy a NIB. I found someone willing to sell their WOZECLE spot for $7.5k. I jumped on it. For what is in TS4, I think manufacturers, (especially JJP) has reached the ceiling. I guess time will tell. My CCrLE is my last NIB purchase. The hobby has gotten crazy.
Thankfully, we still have CGC...They seem to sell the best value these days, by far.
Quoted from PtownPin:CGC is by far the best value in pinball....The "NEW" JJP is turning out to be the worst
I agree 100%
Quoted from adol75:CGC cuts on R&D, coding, designers, marketing, pretty much everything but production and license. It's a very smart business
IMO...CGC has a bright future. They have Butch Peel, and, most of all...they have LTG.
Quoted from PtownPin:Yes and No...clearly there was big R&D in the redesign of all the remakes, and they continue to make it better. They also had to revamp all the graphics and are starting to add code to the older games.
I agree....I don't see CGC cutting back at all on R&D. They're making classics even better.
I'm looking forward to their 1st "original title". I thing it'll be a game changer. The partnership they have w/ Rick @ Planetary has a very bright future.
Quoted from PtownPin:Yea it might be great...I'm sure they were hoping Lyman would code it....that was a big loss as he was the best
I agree....Lyman was the best. I'm praying someone will step up to the plate....but there will never be another Lyman.
