Personally not a fan of when balls leave the playfield

Aerosmith....I get nervous every damn time those balls jump....

Value for money?

Quoted from wesman:

Yeah, but I can "collect" characters in any $20-$60 video game in a similar, and more realized manner.
The reality of a pinball game is NOT via relying more on digital assets than......physical one's.
It's okay for fans of the franchise, pinball, Lawlor and most of all JJP to be disappointed.

I agree it’s okay to be disappointed if you want to be. That’s all allowed. Game shoots great and is fun to play.

There's a reason Toy Story land at WDW is based on the first 3 films. Do you not have any Disney fans working there?

I'm trying so hard not to crap on this decision to settle for the 4th movie only.

PLEASE don't try to get the Harry Potter license, JJP. I couldn't handle it if we get one based on only the Tri Wizard Tournament or Quidditch.

God I hope I eat my words in a week and love the game. This will never not bother me. I got my hopes up.

Quoted from Vino:

Seems a bit like Wonka reveal 2.0 with folks disappointed theme not implemented well on the playfield.
People wound up liking Wonka so you never know how these things go long term.
Software and screens drive so much of these games now.

Not an equal comparison as we still got willy wonka. An even comparison is if we wouldve gotten charlie and the chocolate factory instead.

OK. I'm relieved that I'm disappointed because I really shouldn't be spending the money right now.

I felt similar until i got to play a no good gophers recently. The ramp shot on that game was so smooth and well designed, i loved it. The ball never clunked back onto the Playfield from my short play.

Look forward to not playing it since no operators really touch JJP in Chicago for whatever reason.. :/

#2663 1 year ago
Quoted from clearstar:

I know. The powder coat choice disappointed me a touch be honest. I would have liked to see a yellow LE for example. If you have all 3 Lawlor JJP LE machines, you are looking at triple blues here.

There’s no way anyone can convince me that the color choices did not result from having Wonka spare parts.

It could be true to the movie... But since no one cares about TS4 and hasn't seen it, who knows.

#2666 1 year ago

Been waiting years for Toy Story...still waiting. Toy Story 4 could be a great shooting pin, but as others have mentioned, the theme isn't doing it for me. I'm disappointed, but just saved a bundle of money. I feel that much more lucky about grabbing one out of the run of 50 WOZRR that were produced before Wonka was released.

Thanks well 2 spots for CE's just opened up for the rest of the guys wanting a CE. Definitely sitting this one out.

Good luck guys!!!

Wow that is supposed to be worth 12k we all need our heads examined if that’s the case

Yeah, what's the deal with that? I could be wrong here, but seems like Logan Hardware only has Stern and Spooky. Haven't been out to Galloping Ghost pinball in a couple years, so can't speak to that one. Then I avoid emporium since folks tell me their machines are always down.

That’s like expecting Harry Potter and you get Fantastic Beasts instead.

How come JJP can make a scoop without any protectors while Stern’s Rush gets chewed up even with protectors?!

Where does the woody spinner shot go? Upper right flipper feed?

#2677 1 year ago

Very disappointed in the execution of the theme. Yesterday this was an automatic purchase regardless of the economy. After seeing the pictures, about a 20% chance I am going to purchase and that depends on the pricing being reasonable. The amount I am willing to spend on this has dropped considerably since yesterday.

Quoted from The-Hum:

Think whirlwind or earthshaker - there is a saucer that kicks out to the side to setup the mini flipper

You weren't this negative in the RGP days were you? Or maybe I forgot.

It's my understanding that Logan Arcade has a deal with Stern to get all their new games so JJP isn't allowed there (dumb). Spooky gets a pass I guess.. Gavin is the only other real operator in town and does have a Wonka floating around somewhere, but that's about it. We need more operators. Emporium / HQ places aren't designed people that actually play.. it's more of an accessory..

Making it Toy Story 4 is like making a Beatles game and only using music from 1964.

#2685 1 year ago

Double post please ignore.

#2686 1 year ago
Quoted from Pinballomatic:

Is there any kind of right ramp? What happens to the ball when you hit the right orbit shot that the upper flipper is along?

#2687 1 year ago

JJP hasn’t convinced me (yet) that I should cancel my Lebowski on order for THIS. Maybe I should just wait until Dutch Pinball releases TBL but based on the Jesus movie to level this playing field.

#2688 1 year ago

I look forward to playing one as I am sure this game will be fun to play.

Unfortunately pinball prices in general have reached insane levels, so I will mainly be a location player going forward.

JJP and Stern.

Higher prices, but not more mechs etc.

Code is king for games at the moment as it turns sparse layouts into fantastic games.

#2689 1 year ago
Quoted from The-Hum:

That's definitely a concern to me. I would buy a protector immediately...

I never understood why JJP doesn't work with Cliffy, and install these at the factory. His protectors are by far the best. Rumor has it Lawlor doesnt like Cliff so he tried his own version of a protector on DI and it sucked. Most had to remove and replace with a Cliffy

#2690 1 year ago

Price is gonna dictate this one for me, not wowed by early pictures but not going to flip out yet either.

This would have made a better bash toy. I'll stick to Rudy’s fun house 2.0.

I’m sure it’s fun but my wallet is really happy today. Can’t believe the direction they went with this one. Absolutely love Toy Story and Disney, but 4 is just depressing. What a disappointment
