The whole price speculation is getting old. We don’t know what it is. Yes, they could ask a trillion for a one off super duper limited collector edition. They can ask whatever they want for any model.
It is a fine line to toe because if you ask too much, sales stagnate. If you lower prices then previous buyers get pissed and pitch forks come out. Price will be whatever it’s going to be, flippers are going to flip.
I’m pretty sure a smart company would produce a unit with an acceptable profit margin based on percentages, not FOMO. FOMO is not a constant and weakens/goes away, especially in a downturn economy.
Sounds like orders go live at same time they reveals game. Not giving any time for people to evaluate…

You could be very right, and I am afraid of that.
I have LOV and Halloween on order already, so I won't hesitate to not buy this if it doesn't look great...But this is a dream theme for us for sure.

Hopefully they show more than just that image before opening orders. Otherwise, sets such a horrible precedent. We ‘de have no choice but to blindly preorder if we want a CE. Got burned by spooky doing the same thing (but at least they showed a teaser). Halloween was such an awesome theme that sold itself, same goes for Toy Story,

That’s what I was arguing a few days ago. They know people are hungry to buy it sight unseen. If you wait until they show a teaser video or pictures of any kind, the CE will be out of stock by the time you make your decision.

I can't imagine Pat and co. being anything but 100% proud of the entire game that's been baking for 5+ years. Anybody that pre-orders can change their mind. Of course JJP wants you to be excited and order it. But to say there is some tactic to trick you into ordering is sophomoric. You're never going to please everyone in how you show a game.

O, I'm sure it's awesome and am rooting for you guys on this one. My new pin funds are locked up with Weird Al. Remember the awesome JJP reveal video for G&R? Did that drop before or after order banks opened? I would be shocked if they don't show us gameplay video or the photos before order time. Lawlor is awesome... especially Whilrwind.

I totally agree with you. I just wish they would at the very least show the playfield today to give us an idea before buying the game.

And at this point in time if Toy Story was revealed complete with a Woody or Buzz talking head with a mouth that opened to lock balls and eyes that opened and closed... Pinside would complain that the eyes didn't move left to right.... I would!
