Quoted from Richard-NBA-SF2:

Considering a CGC SE is $8,000 - $12,000 seems steep. I’ll buy a Toy Story SE if it is as good as predicted. It must be loaded and have great shots for me to buy at that price point.
I hope it is great and Pat goes out on the highest note possible!
Richard

I heard JJP scratched the SE's .... is this Lawlers last game?

#1652 1 year ago

CE buyers get a retirement dinner with Pat.

#1653 1 year ago
Quoted from manadams:

Don't think they're making SE's anymore.

I believe that is definitely correct.

Quoted from manadams:

Shit. LE is what I should have said. Lol

#1655 1 year ago

Nah, I’ll just get an LE.
If it was Harry Potter, Futurama or 5Th Element, yes. Otherwise premium/LE is fine

Quoted from delt31:

You're buying at 18. Stop
I love the guys who say 2.5k more I'm out yet 15k I'm in . the truth is if you're crazy (like me) and buying a pinball machine at 12k or 15k, you're paying 18k too
Now I'm sure you're being truthful in theory but in reality you're buying it. Who's not buying is 97℅ of the world who thinks we're crazy.

Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

That’s just your opinion as is mine and my family and we love it. GNR LE’s can be had below MSRP so I guess that game is terrible, also, and it is. My opinion and my families. Couldn’t wait for my last ball to be done.
After the light show wares off, it’s not a great game. Just my opinion.

Oh for sure it's just my opinion on that game, I'm glad everyone finds its joy in a pinball they like.
GNR was a big disappointment for me, but so was JJPOTC, I still wished I bought one new on day 1 when I see how much they go for !

I guess I'm not a Meunier guy, but I surely am a Lawlor guy so there's definitely a Toy Story headed my way !

man I played my GNR for 6 months and just couldn’t get into it… killing that left ramp over and over and over just was zero fun…

Quoted from PtownPin:

I wonder if they will increase LE's to over $11K? which is a stupid number in my book especially since they were $9.5K a year ago

WoZ Yellow Brick Road LEs were $11,500, and that was with a reduced BoM 3 years ago.

Don't do that, then. It's not mandatory to kill it dead. Plenty of other stuff to hit.

Um, it’s Toy Story. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw it at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty awesome.

Thank you, Simone.

The national average price for gasoline hit a $5/gallon for the first time in history this week. The vast majority of Americans, including those working in factories making things such as pinball machines, are being absolutely crushed by that and food prices. I honestly don't understand your assessment about a "mild" recession.

Gas is high but nowhere near as times in the past, relative to purchasing power:

"Gasoline cost $1.25 a gallon back in 1980, but the average worker was only making $6.75 an hour. It took the typical worker about 11 minutes to earn enough to buy a gallon of gas. Now with gas costing $4.17 a gallon, it takes a typical worker making $26.94 an hour just over nine minutes to earn enough to buy a gallon."

Also, cars are a lot more efficient these days (my car gets over 60 miles a gallon; my wife's over 90), so relative to everything people
are not even as affected by gas as they were in 2008.

You'll get them in the course of play when you hit the left ramp and fail to lock or hit the bass. You'll also get them from the mystery award at the scoop. Forget about the patches and just play if your games are turning into left ramp hammering sessions.

Quoted from ticktockman:

Now with gas costing $4.17 a gallon

You are almost a dollar too low, the national average is over $5/gal. Some places are a lot higher, California is over $6/gal. Vehicles cost a lot more today too so I don’t know if that’s a valid argument either. Diesel is even more expensive and most diesel vehicles also require DEF making the cost per mile even more. Another factor is gasoline has been watered down with ethanol nowadays, if you buy non-ethanol gas the price is even higher.

https://gasprices.aaa.com/

Fuel is most definitely the highest it has been for the US. Goods aren’t moved with 90mpg vehicles unless its by train. The real cost goes beyond what you pay at the pump.

Just rode a electric tiny cab back and forth to the Jimmy Buffett concert tonight in Austin!

I drive gas guzzlers. Life is short. Do what you want

Remember they keep telling us, “Pinside is just a small part of the hobby”

So who knows, maybe $25k is the next stop ?

Elwin LE bound to be at least $17,500 next time

I zoomed in on this diagram next to the playfields. Not saying that it’s not toy story but it doesn’t look like the title over the diagram says Toy story.

Could be the original image was mirrored to trick us... Or simply the wrong paper was put on the wall. Could it be they are playing with us? If previous JJP Youtube reveals are an indicator, we will find out on Monday.

With the new 1 year replacement Mirco warranty, they've earned my business back. In on a CE!

Where was this stated?

#1678 1 year ago

I'm in if it drops at $5,000 or less. Any higher and I'll wait to play it and rotate one in from the secondary market if it is amazing after trying it out.

#1679 1 year ago
Quoted from Bud:

You are almost a dollar too low, the national average is over $5/gal.

For every California, there's a Wyoming or Texas that pulls that average down. Wyoming is as low as $4.19/gal right now. When I was there a few years ago (my wife is from there) I was blown away at the 85mph speed limit and the super-cheap gas (there's an oil refinery in the middle of her hometown) that was less than $2 at that time. So it's no surprise they're about $4 while CA is $6 or $7 right now. Another strange thing is they had 4 grades of gas (not counting diesel) at stations we went to in WY. Hadn't ever seen that in CA.

Not the JJP version, but here is a Toy Story Pinball giving an idea of what cab art could look like (not mine).

Hold my beer, just filled up for 2.51 Euro per litre here in the Netherlands. Ouch!!!

And there lies the problem in so many respects… Sometimes you shouldn’t. There’s always a bigger picture to consider. A guy with 23 pins seems to have the means to drive something other than “gas guzzlers”. Seems like the right thing to do as opposed to just taking more because you can.

This open area may be an upper playfield on top left. I do not see a hole for wires though, but several t-nuts holding something on the top.

I kinda like the trend towards less pops on playfields. Less Realestate eaten up (even one if placed well get deliver random and chaos that pinball needs). Surprised if they go to 4.
For diversity why not go to playfield sections that rotate (like The machine or something but flush with rest of playfield). So you’d have 3 pops on pf but in certain modes it flips to make spinners or idk what else. It seems a natural jump in combining tech from mando, zep, GZ etc
