Curious if Disney will distribute this one through their channels as well... they have quite a few ultra high value items that hit their online catalog
If they do 1,000 CEs it should be
500 Woody
500 Buzz
1k is too many I think. A ton of Wonka CEs sat for a long time.
You say Toy Story is a theme worth 1k CEs? I don’t know.
When we reach the point that people lose money on the secondary market like on Halloween, that might tamp down the FOMO next time.
$15k for folks about to head into a recession isn’t chump change. Not to mention all the other games coming out this year

CE or not Halloween is a terrible game, that's why they lose value.

Grail plus final slot in the line up is a potent drug recession or no.
Quoted from adol75:CE or not Halloween is a terrible game, that's why they lose value.
It’s not really a “terrible game” but the demand for it at that price and that many supposed “collector editions” isn’t there
Classic FOMO rush. Too many for what it is
Doubt it happens again with Spooky even though I like their games.
Quoted from Oaken:Grail plus final slot in the line up is a potent drug recession or no.
It’s a drug no matter what environment right? Tough habit to kick
Quoted from Krupps4:I think the number of CEs is a delicate subject. If they make too many CEs, they may not sell as quickly as they think. I guess what I’m saying is a lot of people are willing to drop $15,000 on something that is truly limited, such as 500 units. However, if they make 1,000 units or more, they aren’t as limited which may impact sales. It’s a psychological game with the buyers.
I agree its a delicate balancing act, but my guess is they will increase the number. Makes perfect business sense as the BOM and cost to assemble is virtually identical (except maybe the game blades, radcals, topper ) yet is sells for thousand more. Do u really think past CE buyers will care if they build 1000 units versus 500.....nope they'll buy it anyways. Why leave millions of profit on the table?

Nope it's a terrible game, it's bad and doesn't want to be played. It was a dream theme for a lot of people but they couldn't go other how bad the game is.
As long as it’s taken for them to build this game, I would think they need to maximize sales. So for that reason alone I would think they would do at least 750 of the CE‘s of not 1000.
Um, it’s Toy Story. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw it at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty awesome.
Quoted from PtownPin:o u really think past CE buyers will care if they build 1000 units versus 500.....nope they'll buy it anyways.
I think there are two factors to consider. The first one is number of units and the second one is price. Everyone is focused on number of units and not price. I think they go hand in hand. 1,000 units at $12,500 will sell in a heartbeat. Will 1,000 sell in a heartbeat at $15,500? I don’t know. Maybe. Time will tell…

Totally agree. The market is so whacky it's hard to predict anything.
Every Stern LEs will continue to and has sold out at 1k and a high price tag. JJP is averaging putting what 1 game per 1.5 years out vs Sterns 6 or 7?
CEs are going to fly off the shelf - interesting to see people mention the market. These buyers don’t care about a recession. There is a lot of money in pinball. I don’t think it will matter at all at least for CEs
Quoted from dts:1000 LEs hasn't hurt Godzilla a bit. It all boils down to how good the game is.
Elwin is the King of pinball now. He’s gonna command big $$$ now
How many Dialed In CEs are there. Everything I hear it’s a great game?
Might as well make 2,000 CEs for $20k? See how that works out.
Quoted from djsolzs:These buyers don’t care about a recession. There is a lot of money in pinball. I don’t think it will matter at all at least for CEs
I feel like a lot of CE buyers take comfort in knowing that they can always make money on a CE. I think we’ve all heard that the CEs are sold out at the dealer level, so it’s all those repeat buyers that have an “in” with a particular dealer that, for the most part, keep getting the CEs and LEs. As MSRP increases along with the number of units manufactured, so does the risk that you won’t make money on a flip. Maybe that thought process won’t impact Toy Story, but it will catch up with the industry eventually. No one likes to lose money. Oftentimes, especially the high rollers….
Quoted from Damonator:They made more than 500. My distrib's GnR CE allocation was 10. Their TSCE allocation is 25.
Yeah they seem plentiful don’t they. 1k is in the cards.
In the old days we used to bitch about what a bunch of “price gougers” these guys were every time they jacked up the price.
Today, it’s let me have another ass whooping sir!
It is my belief that Hot Rails are back in some form. I've included 3 pictures. One is zoomed in on todays picture with arrows pointing at the mounting hardware.Screenshot_20220611-202247_Gallery (resized).jpg Another image is of my GNR, notice it uses the same mounting hardware.20220611_202700 (resized).jpg The last is a picture of my Wonka, notice the wood rails just use wood screws as opposed to 8-32 studs used on Hot Rails.20220611_202730 (resized).jpg
I just think you’ll see more high dollar sterns hit the market and suffer. I agree things are already risky they are already imo pricing a large portion of the community out. 12k to 15k doesn’t matter much if you can already afford 12k. Big theme and a high end pinball machine that fans have been waiting 2 years since the last release. One of best designers ever possible last game.
I expect to see more of this risk with stern and other manufacturers.

They didn’t sell 500 Wonkas at $12,500
My distro bought a close out batch from JJP. That’s where I got mine at a discount.
When the bloom comes off the rose like it always does and the flippers move on maybe TS can hold $15k? Who knows.
I’m getting a CE and don’t really care other than interested to see where this all goes

We need more of this and less market speculation bc spoiler, CE sells out on less than an hour.
Quoted from delt31:We need more of this and less market speculation bc spoiler, CE sells out on less than an hour.
Yep. Guaranteed.
I don't think the reveal will be Monday. They just started the real buzz on social media, they're gonna go for a week and announce the reveal date show end of next week for the week after
The cats out of the bag Tuesday, so there’s no way they’re not going to control the release as distros will have all the details that day.
Makes a lot more sense to loop in the general public same day.
1k CEs at $15k will have no problem selling. Any more on either price or quantity and I think some folks might pause and look at the LE.

Dialed In is a special bird, IMO the best JJP and Top 3 in pinball history, but the game never got recognized as I think he should be.
There's one CE still for sell on Pinside, and a bunch of LE below market, both are probably the best deals one can get in pinball right now, but it's a game that needs to play a lot to reveal its true awesomeness, it doesn't pop up instantly when you play it.
I hated it for a year before loving it and buying one.
If the CE is gonna sell out in an hour and we don’t know how many they are making or what the price is maybe JJP should just go ahead and jump it on up to $20k.
No price is too high in this market it appears
Stern needs to go ahead and bump up to at least $14k on LEs and 2,000 units with Elwin

There you go, there is hope for Halloween then!

That’s just your opinion as is mine and my family and we love it. GNR LE’s can be had below MSRP so I guess that game is terrible, also, and it is. My opinion and my families. Couldn’t wait for my last ball to be done.
After the light show wares off, it’s not a great game. Just my opinion.

CE at 18k sells out in a day so 15 is easy. This market doesn't think twice now below 19.5 (as 20 scares people). Simple truth.
Why doesn't jjp sell higher than 15k then? Bc they don't need to. The margin is already ridiculous. This hobby just continues to prove out how much money is out there.
Quoted from adol75:CE or not Halloween is a terrible game, that's why they lose value.
Too many people bailed at early code and it is early. How many people hated Stranger Things with early code and bailed on it. With new code look how it turned it and prices on it now. Plus many thought they could flip it and make a quick couple grand.

It’s a business. JJP wants to extract as much $$$ out of us as they can.
Ditto for Stern.
Go ahead and take it up to $19,500 and see what happens.

$12.5k - I'll buy it b/c it's a Lawlor JJP
$15k - I'll decide based on the video

1000 CE's at $14.5k is my guess. We'll know for sure in a couple days. I think it's still a quick sellout at that price. Pricing it over $15k with 1000 units would be risky.
There has to be a decent market for this thing outside of current pinball enthusiasts. How many Disney fans with significant disposable income are going to be lost at a 10k+ price point, and does that even matter if JJP can't make them fast enough to satisfy pinhead demand at the higher price point?

You're buying at 18. Stop
I love the guys who say 2.5k more I'm out yet 15k I'm in . the truth is if you're crazy (like me) and buying a pinball machine at 12k or 15k, you're paying 18k too
Now I'm sure you're being truthful in theory but in reality you're buying it. Who's not buying is 97℅ of the world who thinks we're crazy.

I’m in at 12.5, 15 gives me pause. So no, I am not buying it at any price. 12.5 is nuts for any pinball machine

I wonder if they will increase LE's to over $11K? which is a stupid number in my book especially since they were $9.5K a year ago

Considering a CGC SE is $8,000 - $12,000 seems steep. I’ll buy a Toy Story LE if it is as good as predicted. It must be loaded and have great shots for me to buy at that price point.
I hope it is great and Pat goes out on the highest note possible!
Richard

Don't think they're making SE's anymore.
