Kaneda is going to reveal Eric Munier's new game is rumoured to be the Godfather .
What are your thoughts ?

#2 2 years ago

The theme is awesome.

#3 2 years ago

Nope not going to happen

#4 2 years ago

I learnt about it over 4 months ago , from a friend of a friend but if kaneda's going to announce it , who cares who gets in first . It's still going to be over 2 years away .
And if I'm wrong I'm happy to cop it

Cool theme but JJP is such a dog shit company for quality and customer service. Unless they announce significant improvements I don't know.

Could be an interesting layout if real.

Don Corleone ball lock!
Lock balls in his mouth until his cheeks resemble a hamster.
Jokes aside, could be awesome!

Love the theme, but avoiding JJP because of the playfield quality.

#9 2 years ago

I hope not. I have zero interest in that theme.

#10 2 years ago

Another JJP theme I care nothing about.

#11 2 years ago

That theme does nothing for me. I’m trying to envision how The Godfather theme would play out in a pin and I’m just drawing blanks. Anyway, we shall see…

#12 2 years ago

Love the movies, but I would be an automatic pass on this for a number of reasons.

#13 2 years ago

Sounds like a great adult theme for pinball. Much better than the kiddie stuff they usually work with.

#14 2 years ago

Meh… I guess a cool theme but Stern already did the sopranos

#15 2 years ago

Pretty sure this would be a first:

A pinball machine based upon a movie with zero real action sequences.

I mean, stuff happens, guns get fired every now and then, but there’s not any real set pieces.

Would be interesting to see if they could pull it off. Would be really tough to keep this one from sleeping with the fishes.

But As long as there’s a mode revolving around McClusky chewing his steak after he gets shot in the head id be happy.

Frenzy mode with sonny getting riddled with bullets at the toll booth ?

#16 2 years ago

Horse head multiball!!!!

#17 2 years ago
Quoted from TinyBlackDog:

Horse head multiball!!!!

This doesn’t even make any sense!!!

But yeah a big plastic goofy horse head on the playfield would be cute.

#18 2 years ago

I can hear Jack now.

I'm going to make a pinball machine you can't refuse.

Lol…

Great movies won’t always make great pins.
I think this would be a mistake.
Godfather lacks humour, one thing Sopranos has boat loads of.

Duval is looking real old these days.

Is this really happening? If so, love it!

Aren't we all. Cant beat the clock Riggs.

I have never liked most mob themed shows or movies. I dont like godfather movies or sopranos. So that would be a pass for me but Id be really happy for folks that would be excited about that theme

I'm buying yours as well. One for the home one for the office.

#27 2 years ago

If u like the gangster and mob stuff, check out Bad Blood on Netflix.

#28 2 years ago

Yea, not a great idea. This guy craps all over The Godfather...

As long as its not another Meunier's zillion of multiballs all over the place, I may be interested.

What happened to Jack's family friendly theme's?

#31 2 years ago

Just remember, If you don’t like this theme. It’s the owners fault.

#32 2 years ago
Quoted from dos_reboot:

What happened to Jack's family friendly theme's?

They left with no gameplay diff'rences in trim levels and umatched quality.
But I mean what could be more family than Godfather. Shit its got like 5 families in it

The Godfather is all about family.

LTG : )

#34 2 years ago

They should have two lines going. One family friendly and one more adult oriented. Huge company like JJP can do two at once. Come on guys. U can do it!

#35 2 years ago
Quoted from SLAMT1LT:

It be a better theme due to its total cheese and horribleness

#36 2 years ago

I love the theme, but they really need to get their act together.
It’s very difficult to spend money with that company at this time.

#37 2 years ago

Toy Story, Avatar or the Matrix are just more interesting possible rumored themes to me from JJP than Godfather.

#38 2 years ago

I LOVE the Godfather but as someone else said it doesn't really have action or humor. It would have to have some amazing toys to work. I could see an old Italy upper playfield being cool.

#39 2 years ago

Great theme - would jump to the top of my list, right behind BTTF.

They’re both like 90 years old. I can’t see either of them excited to do voice work for a pinball machine. You’ll be getting Joe Mantegna.

Hope not true. Been enough outdated themes. Wonka theme was bad enough

#43 2 years ago
Quoted from dos_reboot:

Godfather is a movie ABOUT family.

No one said they had to be sane.

Edit: I see LTG beat me!

#44 2 years ago

I thoroughly enjoy the first two Godfather movies. The story carries such a serious tone, I am not sure if it would translate into a fun pinball machine.

Sopranos, which is of the same *basic genre*, was more humorous and it worked in a pinball machine.

You know what it means when something is a "classic"?

#46 2 years ago
Quoted from dos_reboot:

Went out the window when he gave up on family friendly playfields

#47 2 years ago

Be a great theme, and if true I'm sure JJP could do it justice......that being said no more NIB JJP games for me (and I've bought all of them)....they need to change their tune with play fields responsibility... and yes I'm ok with rolling the dice a little (shit happens), but the last straw was charging owners with issues a fee for a replacement play field....

same for me !

Scarface and goodfellas probably would be better gangster themes, but I’d guess the artwork and depth/breadth of rule set would be tough to work with, just not a whole lot of material to fit a pinball machine. The drug aspect of those movies may not be so appealing, however.

The matrix is the holy grail, it’s a gold mine for any manufacturer that can get it. So much material to work with, sounds, rules, art, light show, etc. The license might be tough to get and expensive, but people would pay for the theme, I know I would. Really wish/hope it would be jjp, only they can do it justice.

The Blues Brothers is my grail pin , but don't think there's enough support behind it , for it to be made .
For me a more realistic theme is Big Trouble In Little China . It's got everything you could want , Monsters , fantasy , humour , action , sexy girls and jjp could do such a good job with it .
