Finally.. finally was able to place an order for a replacement POTC monitor. Its hardly even one year old, the machine was built 12/2018, sold to original owner in Feb 2019, hardly used and purchased by me in either May or June. Was great until beginning of October when monitor died. Took many emails and phone calls to finally get a replacement ordered. .. 600.00 + . Remind me never to buy a second hand hardly used JJP again. Only NIB JJP in future, if I like the theme. Back to the future please. Thanks.
Quoted from Oneangrymo:So I got my monitor today and my tech is on the way tonight to install it, but they sent me a Mirco Ray monitor, isnt that the lower end LCD for POTC? or no?
Never mind picture looks great game fixed ! Finally !
Quoted from konghusker:Curious on what exactly these monitors are size, mounts, etc. Seems like we should be able to use existing mounting brackets from old jjp monitor and just buy a new LCD TV for much lower than $600. Thoughts?
Believe me
I would do that but the bracket and the power source are weird I don’t think it’s that simple unless someone has already done that ?
Quoted from konghusker:I see. I've never looked at my jjp monitors, so I didn't know. Just seems really steep asking $600 for a monitor that's $125 in stores.
Yeah man I was very sad spending that amount of money, and my wife found out.. jeez whiz. In future I will only get second hand JJP from distributors that can back me up if any issues. Or NIB. No more local purchases. Ive bought pins from the guy before, he said he owns a store, but I dont think he is a distributor otherwise he would have stepped in .
My CE monitor was replaced. Is anyone interested in the old one ? It doesn't work, but may be could be repaired? Im not sure. if interested please PM me
Thanks
Quoted from dts:Found a CE overseas that is NIB, but $14,700 without shipping. Another $1000 to ship and man, this is $$. I remember thinking $12.5k was crazy. $3200 up charge now. What do you guys think? I’ve been obsessing about getting a CE for a long time...
Don't forget you may also get a bill from the tax man if getting shipped in from overseas.
Quoted from bbulkley:Pinball machines are exempt from duty, as far as I know.
Oh really? Hmm. One guy I talked to imported an Alien and got stuck with a 1000-1500 tax bill , at least that’s hat he told me. Anyways good luck if you decide to do that.
Quoted from Concretehardt:I would think POTC would be exempt as it was originally manufactured in the US.
Ahh.. gotcha. Thanks for the info.
