Quoted from dts:

I just found one for $60, but they are hard to get for a reasonable price. Make sure it is the Series 1 Neca Davy Jones 7 inch figure.

Yep. Hard to find the series 1 but that is the perfect match no doubt. Love ours. Rather simple to do once you have the figure.

I'm still looking for a CE playfield if anyone has one.

Can't you just buy one from Jack? I called to check if my NIB CE coming from Hungary will be covered, and he said yes, if there is any problem.

#1154 4 years ago

I did inquire with JJP and was told they do not have any for sale at the moment.

Mine only has minor pooling which I have fixed via the iron method. You don't want to see the dimpling though.... makes me sad. I'm not aware of playfield replacements for that alone.

The journey was long but it arrived unscathed: New Jersey to Hungary to Austria to Oregon. My son told me at TPF 2018: buy the CE! Two years later, a Standard and LE come and gone, and here it is: CE172. The European coin door may not allow Modcouple’s cool mod however. Now, I just need the 220 conversion kit to see if it works...

That is pure pinball pornography right there. Except for that Euro coin door, that would drive me nuts...but I'd live with it (at least temporarily) for a CE.

I hoped it wasn't too much... Maybe someone will fill me in on how to replace the coindoor...

Can't say they would but it would surely be worth asking JJP if they would Consider swapping that coin door with a US as this is a High end customer purchase. What a beauty. As you are ordering the power conversion kit I would at least ask on the CD as its new. Congrats!!!!

4 bolts and two or three connectors. Pull it out, put in new one. Then bolts, then connectors.

#1161 4 years ago

Thanks Lloyd! I'll see if JJP might swap mine out.

#1162 4 years ago

Congrats on the new game! So awesome looking.

#1163 4 years ago

Anyone have any recommendations for replacing the barnacle adhesive? My left head bracket barnacle came unstuck and fell to the floor. Luckily it didn’t break! I’ve seen other cases of this happening on here as well.

Double faced automotive tape for side molding.

Maybe a smart idea to put some cheap throw rugs around the pin.

Hey dts just noticed your right head bracket barnacle appears to have come off the head bracket and stuck to your cabinet! It appears my previous comment may be pertinent to you too. It should be like this.

Did the 110 conversion and the game is strangely problem free in the few games I just logged. Only issues I see right away are two balls pop out at the beginning, which seems like an easy trough fix. And the motor on the topper really seems to strain to do a complete rotation. Plays fast and smooth.

Too many balls in the game ?

Yes, right as usual, 6 balls came with the game and I didn't notice install 5! Thanks, Lloyd!

Bump the ship topper motor RPM (1) digit in the settings and it should run smoother and put less load on the motor stalling.

That helped! The motor is still pretty loud in the topper, I forget if there is a fix... Otherwise, this game has required zero adjustments. It plays perfectly out of the box! Impressive considering its journey.

#1174 4 years ago

No fix unfortunately. I have turned my ship in a bottle off for now.

Search RitchieWrenches posts. He put insulation in his to quiet it down.

I set mine to around 6 I believe and it’s perfect. The topper isn’t supposed to spin like a speed boat and when the game is playing it’s hard to hear it at all. Congrats on what sounds like a great game buy.

Reading somewhere that removing the spring would also help.
Anyone done this?

#1178 4 years ago

Yes! I removed the spring which decreased downward pressure on the motor. Much better!

#1179 4 years ago

Man finally got to playing this game more on a regular basis it’s awesome ! Keeps u wanting to play more and more . I’m glad I got it when I did .. a must have for any collector

Really nice work!

Though, being in the sewers, dealing with toilets and such, some Turd Monsters would be highly appreciated!
