Sorry to bother your small talk but I have a serious problem. Received the machine yesterday. Having a party tonight and my Black Pearl stopped moving!

It’s hanging to the left. My girls were playing so did not see what happened

First thing the machine says:
Switch#48 Target Ship is stuck closed
I solved that problem by moving the English ship a bit. They are good in switch test now

But. The Black Pearl is still not moving!!

Did also the ship test but no luck. Since I cannot reach the Pirates manual from the JJP website (dont know why yet) I’m stuck now

Can someone please assist

Thanks so much!
Peter

It moves a bit in the Ship Test
It moves left. Then moves right. Also center.
Then it stops doings test. Now its stuck again

Also did Force Recalibration.

#3271 5 years ago

The Black pearl Motor inner opto is black. I saw it green as well when it was working in tests just a minute ago

I did a restart and now it is in Full left position when I look at the screen.

In the picture
It show the right (motor inner opto) in green now as well.

Still no luck to move the ship again in testmode nor in gameplay

Quoted from Tmezel:

My gate that releases the chest multball lost a screw this morning. To fix it, remove the solenoid from the back and the assembly comes out. The other screw was loose too. [quoted image][quoted image]

Thanks. This happened to me as well yesterday. I cannot find the second screw but Im happy to read that removing the solonoid is enough to solve the problem.

Tech question.
On the Pearl, the left flipper does not raise like the right flipper does. Is this normal behaviour, or not. Do I need to get the pearl removed to resolve this?

It was good untill this weekend I suppose. I changed the pitch of the pearl a bit to the right to resolve the mech touching the wood in the back but making the cannon shot became way more difficult. Then I noticed.

Thanks!

Tech question.
I have these switch errors on the Pearl. Doesn’t look good, think I have to remove the pearl. Any first ideas?

Thanks

Quoted from zaphX:

Looks like the classic green/brown wire under the pearl broken off to me, assuming the switches are stuck open and failing to respond in the test. If they are stuck closed I’d check the leafs

Thanks. Yes they are stuck open. Also the eos switch left flipper is mentioned. Will remove the ship and resolder.
Thansk for the feedback! Appreciate it.

I removed the Pearl today to solve all the switch problems and found out that the wires
Were broken off. I soldered them on and gave the wirelooms some space by cutting the tie-rips(?). Everything was pulling on the movement of the ship so the wires had no chance.

It took me some time but with the help from the video I felt I could do it. Its not easy and I found the rearranging part at the end the most difficult. When everything was off I took the moment to attach the Cliffy’s! After I had the Pearl back on and realized I forgot about that, so I could take all the wires out and start over again
Thanks for the protectors Passion for Pinball!! Great fit!!

Other problem:
The right spinner on the pearl was not registering and I found out that the black opto holder was broken so the optos did not align. I had no spare so I cut of a swich blade and with some strong glue I managed to make it work and strong enough to be able to align.

I hope I can get an new one somewhere but I have never seen these before.
Anybody know where to get them?

So, attaching the Pearl was a bit harder because of the ramp. But at the end all switches are working!! Really happy about that!!

Game on!
Thanks for all the tips and guidelines!
Peter

The color changing RGB GI is the best! I would really consider an LE only for this feature. It really makes the modes feel like you get drawn into the machine and the story! I love it when it goes all blue or red etc. What a game!
Thx HogBog for tour amazing creativity!! I will buy your next game for sure

Such a pitty to hear ‘the mini wizard modes were semi disappointing. Not coded with much excitement.’

I once understood that Keith hates a buy-in because you can reach the end with just some extra coins and afterwards you never want to play the game again.
Knowing this feels a bit the same to me. I’m flippin every day to reach all that excitement just to hear now that it’s not really worth it.

Looking forward to that code update!!
I have pre ordered all JJP’s except Wonka and GNR just because I was tired of waiting. And yet, feels I am still waiting.
Cheers

Is the new code already released? Thank you!

#17362 2 years ago

Thats great! Can you share the Amazon link and maybe show where you got the power from (noob qustion )
Thank you! Merci Bien!

#17367 2 years ago

Great! Thank you very much for sharing!!
So you think this will work on Stern as well?

#17374 2 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

Since you're plugged into a circuit board to get power, and the heatsink is metal, I would suggest at least putting a 1A fast blow inline fuse on the power lead with this setup. If the heatsink metal breaches the wrapper of the coil and the windings below, it likely would create a short and blow out the board it's getting the power from. The fuse won't guarantee protection for the board, but it should limit damage if a short happens. And, with the shaker motor movement and flipper vibrations over time, this is not an impossible scenario.

Could you suggest another power source or save setup?
