Quoted from PinMonk:It seems to vary. I dialed ours back to 22 so it makes it into the Black Pearl consistently but isn't slamming into it. some people have problems with anything less than 32. You'll just have to see how yours is. Be sure and request the black pearl opto protector from your distributor.
Are these opto protectors for sale anywhere? Getting a nib SE this week and want to make sure it's good from the start.
Guys my SE is arriving in a few days ( couldnt find a LE ) and I was thinking about getting a full set of the powdercoated Gold Hobbit trim/legs from JJP. It looks like it would look pretty cool.

Oh that makes sense, in test mode it does go fully right so I know it works. My 8 year old wont get off of it lol.
Havnt searched thru the thread for all the mods but ( for the SE )has anyone found a pirate that works in size for the pop bumper like the LE/CE or the rocks on the left hand side.
Guys turned on my SE tonight ( just got in Monday night nib ) and had 4 switch errors. So the Malestorm switch is not working at all, tried to loosen it/reposition no luck. The others in Red do they show that because they havnt been used yet or are they in error as well?

If you look at the chapter select left rubber switch is it stuck closed? Might need to be gapped properly. I'd start there, should be fairly easy to see/get to from under the playfield. Use a switch adjustment tool.
http://homepinballrepair.com/index.php/pinball-switches-fixing-adjusting/
I have a switch adjustment tool but I'm not sure what the chapter select rubber is. Is it only acceptable underneath? Confysed on this one.
Quoted from PinMonk:If you (carefully) take the arm off, does the actual switch nub click and register when you press it? If it does, then the arm may just need to be bent where it connects so it will trigger the nub. If it doesn't, then it may just be binding and zaphX's solution might get you back in business.
I'll go try that and report back, as of right now no clicking.
Ok guys, thanks to all your help all switches are working!!! Thanks for the video Harry I woulda never fixed that! Just installed a shaker, looking for it in the settings but xant seem to find it.
Shaker is working but still cant find it in settings.. so happy it's running right. GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!@
Quoted from mountaingamer:Thank You Tuna - I’m so happy they have all arrived safe and so far the feedback has been wonderful. I’ve made some more and been charging $33.00 shipped stateside as shipping was a little more than I anticipated if others are still interested - feel free to pm me.[quoted image]
I just PMed ya! I'd love some coins
Quoted from harryhoudini:Looks like you just remove the upper railing (two nuts on top of the railing, match up with the holes on that protector) put on the protector, remove railing, put on protector, put on railing, put on nuts. 2 minutes.
But if you ordered the window mod, you don't need it. Windows are starting to ship today/tomorrow (we live in the boonies, takes some time to get the mail out)
Can you take a picture? Would it be facing forward ( towards the player) or backwards facing the back of the cabinet?
Quoted from harryhoudini:Hey guys, who wants a spinning davy jones? Works on all models of POTC. Simplified mechanism, easier to install, plug and play, no special wiring, integrates with all OEM connections. Could I interest you in a spinning Jack as well? All coming down the pipeline with a full matching set.
This is a 3D render, colors will obviously be painted in and texture added.

I'm in on a DAVY JONES!!!
Funny question... I can't get my damn backglass off on Pirates. It's so tight I unlocked it and it wont budge. Should i unscrew the top by the speakers? 20 minutes i give up.
I dont havnt anythinh chipping yet, But what should I do to prevent it? Also is jjp shioping new posts? Thanks guys.
Guys are the siderails just attached by screws or is there adhesive underneath them? Thinking about powdercoating them. If its adhesive ill leave em be.
Quoted from RTS:Each side rail is attached at two points in the front and back. There is a small phillips head at the back. And from the front, lift the pf and remove the nut from inside to detach.
The rail does have two sided tape at three spots, one at each end and one in the center. They are about 4 inches long. I'll attach a pic.
I used a wide plastic scraper to slide inside to remove the seal.[quoted image]
Does it wreck the cabinet artwork? Any tips or tricks? I'd hate to damage it. Also do I need tape of some sort when I put new rails back on? Thanks!
My SE got some new trim, just need a few more mods and shes done. Topper, lighted starfield, spinning pop bumper and artblades. New leg bolts and levelers on it's way as well.

Quoted from Yelobird:Looks like he got creative with some Hobbit armor. Very well done!!
It is the Hobbit Armor from Jjp... but I will note that the legs are shorter then the Pirates legs. Robert Stone powdercoated the legs to match the GOLD VEIN. Came out great!
Quoted from wesman:That's what I was under the assumption of too.
Oh well. They look slick either way, definitely compliment the theme and colors of the game.
Do the shorter legs affect gameplay at all?
I had the legs that matched the original size powdercoated to match. The short legs are getting sent back.
Quoted from Yelobird:Did you have to send in the lock bar to match that texture or did they have something close? I have a game I am considering with Hobbit type armor but it’s a rather unique finish.
Robert Stone ( here on Pinside ) has the color match, he has done a bunch of coating for me in the past and does killer work.
Guys anyone have a issue getting the damn ball on the chest for locks, I increased the flipper strength by a little bit. Maybe 2 out of 10 go up there without rattling out.
Quoted from harryhoudini:Fork and bracket alignment is key. Also make sure the wireform that prevents the ball reversing out is freely moving. If you can't get it post a video of it tiding.
What should I look for in the fork and bracket alignment specifically?
Messing around with a Fire/Torch effect under cabinet lighting. Still adjusting the flickering and FPS, I need to add a little more orange.

Guys quick question, my pop bumper led light on my SE ( the one that is a spinner on les/ce ) never flashes in the game like the other 3. It does work in the test mode and even changes colors in the test mode. Does it only flash at certain times?
Quoted from Trooper11040:So on the SE, all the pop bumpers have lights. Funny thing is, during a game, only two light up (the two that light up would be the same ones that are in the LE without the motors). Is there any way to report that bug?
So I have a SE and removed the pop bumper covers, I ran a LED test and they do all light up white, blue, red. Yes you are correct on my machine those 2 do not light up during gameplay. Maybe I can message Eric and see what he says.
I contacted Eric and he was unaware, he passed this info along to the software team. I'll report back if I hear anything else.
