In search of my first pin and landed at JJP POTC LE. Quick question to those with experience. The distributor I am going through adds on another $500 for delivery, setup, and one year warranty. I feel that I can handle transport and setup, but maybe you can tell me to not be so confident. If we don’t get the warranty the following occurs: we are 3 hours from the distributor and any service calls would require us to bring the pin to them if there is issue. Thoughts on whether I should pay the extra $500? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the feedback. The distributor is 3 hours away and the next closest is 5. I’m not excited about tacking on another 5%, and sounds like the value is to sleep easy. Regardless, I’m excited to be apart of the POTC team.

Just joined the club and the family is enjoying the game. A quick question that you technical experts may be able to help with. I am getting a switch error #48, Target Ship Hit (stuck closed). Is this a common ‘haven’t been hit in awhile error’. If so, where is the switch so I can test it? Thanks for any help.

Quoted from LTG:

Hit the Enter diagnostic button - go to Full Menu - Go to Tests - Switches - Matrixed.
Hit some switches to see how they register then try the ones in question.
LTG : )

Where is the #45 switch? Thanks for the help.

Quoted from Axl:

Thank you to Axl, I was able to clear the switch error. Appreciate all the willingness to help us POTC rookies.

Game is 5 days old and broke an upper Playfield flipper rubber. From what I can tell this requires removal of the upper Playfield to get at. Is this true?

Thanks

Quoted from PinMonk:

Uh, no. You just stretch a new one on.

How do you get it around the thick part of the flipper without removing the part of the ship that covers it?

#6718 4 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

There are two nuts on top of the trim plastic on each flipper. Take the nuts off and pry the plastic trim up and off to get access to the flipper. Less than 5 minute job to do it all and put it back together.
Trim on, as it is from the factory
[quoted image]
Remove the two nuts and pry it up on the flipper bat side to get it off (it was kind of tight on the posts)
[quoted image]

Worked perfectly! Thank you

What pitch angle do you have set for your POTC? I see JJP states the bubble at the second line, but I notice that the ball is still rather “floaty”. Thanks
