It looks like the pirate ship in this video has the same promblem as Psw757 and Vividpsychosis has with their left lamp in the front of the ship. Has JJP addressed this yet? No big deal but I was wondering if they fixed this issue yet.

Quoted from Psw757:

So this lamp second from left looks normal to you?
[quoted image]

Quoted from VividPsychosis:

I hope fix is an easy adjustment. I have 1 lamp that is not like the others.

Quoted from bigdaddy07:

I think for me a good example would be my favorite mode in LOTR vs my least. Favorite - Gandolf vs Saruman- Shoot ramp shots to attack Saruman, shoot tower to get Saruman trapped on top, shoot ring tell the butterfly to go get the eagle, shoot tower to rescue with eagle. Least Favorite - Warg - shoot all lit shots to kill wargs.
Similar with IMDN - Favorite - aces high - shoot lit shots to take down fighters, shoot ramps to lock on bomber, shoot pharaoh to shoot down locked on bomber within timer or re-lock, shoot roving shot to take down fighter ace. Least favorite - Icarus - combo ramp shots to shoot at Icarus before he flames you.
The shot variety that progresses the mode makes for a great game that never gets old. Spamming the same shots over and over gets stale. I am not familiar with the rules of POTC yet, but am highly interested in adding on to my game room. I'm hoping the most of the mode shots are more like the ones I like and not the later.

Great explanation but the modes are just like the modes you do not like. Their are so many different modes tho I do not know how they could make them all like the modes you like.

Maybe they will try to mix it up in a code update.

The black pearl is still on its way tho .

Quoted from Charliew65:

yes, action button stuck for 2 days not anymore, should fix itself. My problem is my auto shooter, shoots the ball into the left rubber. looks like my right wireform is not helping with this problem.
[quoted image]

How do you fix this auto launch promblem?

#1975 5 years ago
Quoted from pickleric:

Check the alignment of the manual shooter, my autoshooter was hanging a little bit sometimes on the e-clip of the shooter rod. Adjust the alignment of the shooter rod a little bit and no more autoplunger hang ups.

Thanks but my manual plunger is not hitting the auto plunger. The problem is my auto launches do not launch the ball into play some times. The ball hits that post you use to save the ball from out lane drains.

#2019 5 years ago
Quoted from PBMAN:

Hello,
Having a problem with the Auto Launcher. I know both pieces of metal are supposed to be touching the Ball. So I bend the metal on each side to make that happen. After about two successful launches it goes back to a launch where ball hits side and never makes it over launch ramp. Only thing I can think is there is too much play on the launch mech from side to side.
I see its held on by a coder pin. Makes muli-ball tough because you have to hand launch each ball.
Anyone else have this issue. Thanks.
[quoted image]

Mine is doing the same exact thing as well let’s try to band together and fix it. LTG said to maybe add some washers to the mech I will try that to. Any other suggestions.

#2021 5 years ago
Quoted from delt31:

Speaking of the shooter lane those metal guides on it are not in my DI. It almost seems to keep the ball from touching the wood so will this prevent shooter wear going forward? I usually mylar up down there! You know safety first of course

That is a special design from Eric just for pirates. All games should have it.

Quoted from delt31:

"So if the skull is in the fourth box from the left on the row, that just means you’ll start whatever chapter the game has chosen for that spot if you start a chapter and it lands on that colored movie. Regardless, you have to play 5 from that movie to progress towards qualifying that movie’s wizard mode."
I understood everything except this part. Does the multiplication of value you described just apply to the chapter in the skull slot on the screen? Still not sure what these skulls mean that are placed randomly once on the five chapter slots on the screen

From one of the JJP guys.

“If I read what you're asking correctly, the skull icon under the open cannon port indicates the currently selected chapter from that movie that you have qualified. I'm pretty sure it has the Chapter title displayed somewhere there, but I'm not currently in front of a game(I'm at a bar a mile from the factory, actually. I've been in Lakewood NJ getting the CEs off the line). If you shoot that movie's shot again, the skull will move one position to the right, indicating that you have changed that movie's qualified chapter to the next one. Each movie has 5 chapters pulled from it's pool of 25ish at the beginning of the game, and the skull indicates which one from that movie you currently have as the contender to start if you shoot Chapter Start. If you only have one movie lit, obviously the Chapter that skull is indicating is what you will start. If you have multiple movies lit, then it will be a toss up between whichever chapter the skulls are currently referencing from the different movie's.... Hope that cleared it up! But I've had a couple 9% IPAs and am typing on my phone”

#2234 5 years ago
Quoted from delt31:

Haha I'm not sure why but I just don't understand the point still. I'll read again...

Each movie has 25 chapters available but only five chapters get picked out of those 25 for a game. The skull represents one out of those five. And every time you hit that movies shot the skull moves selecting a different chapter out of the 5.

Here is the hardware you can buy at Ace Hardware if you have a ball hung up during multiball.

You need one of the 1 inch spacers, 1 of the 1/2 inch spacers and 1 wood screw number 8 x 2inches.

You will want to remove the left support rail for easier acces.

Can you recap the fault this fixes? Is it balls stuck in the subway?
Thanks for the DIY details. We almost need a wiki to keep track of the fixes.

If you are playing a multiball and your last ball drains and the pin goes into ball search and it shoots it out of depths.

Audio clipping and drop outs.
OK, of the handful of little things to tinker with, I have no real concern so far. The one big annoyance is the clipping and drop outs in the audio. It is starting to drive me crazy! I believe that a few have questioned audio related issues, what is the fix here? I can upload a video if need be but it is painfully obvious and annoying.

This was happening to me and a bunch of other Dialed In owners when I first received my Dialed In. We tried a whole bunch of fixes but ultimately it was fixed with a software update. Hopefully JJP is aware of this and fixes the sound clipping and poping sound issues with pirates like they did with Dialed In. Hey JJP staff are you out their is their a fix in the works? .

#2867 5 years ago
Quoted from Yelobird:

I just received a set of black mirror blades from Pinballdecals. Hoping to install them today and verify fit but I think the darker mirror will be a Great look for this theme.

The ball constantly bangs off of the right side of the cab when the ball goes over board from the pearl upper playfeild. Do you think that would put big scratches or dents in the mirror blade on that side?

#2892 5 years ago
Quoted from javagrind888:

Ok, how do I adjust the auto plunger? It's not sitting far enough forward for the ball to rest on, so it's not auto plunging. Either that, or the manual plunger is sitting too far forward.
Makes multi ball a big fail.
[quoted image]

My Auto Plunger was not shoting the ball cleanly at all out of the box so here is what I did to fix it.

1. Lift up the playfeild and move the automatic plunger with with your hand and see it moves in and out of the coil sleeve smoothly.

If it is binding push the auto plunger assembly to the right or left so the automatic plunger goes into the coil sleeve smoothly.

2. Loosen the screws on the automatic plunger assembly and push the assembly to the right as far as it can go then tighten down the screws. This will cause the ball to rest on the right side of the auto lauch mech.

3. The coil on the Auto Lauch mech moves if you wiggle it so I put a zip tie around the coil to keep it from moving. The coils on the flippers are tight so I figured the coil on the auto
launch assembly should be tight as well. Their is a cleaner solution for this if you put smothing in between the coil and the bracket that holds it in place should work too. I will do this later but the zip tie works for now.

4. Raise the power of the auto lauch mech in the settings to 32.

After all of these steps my pin auto lauches the ball perfect everytime.

#2932 5 years ago
Quoted from Energyspike:

This did the trick, zip tie the coil and now the auto plunger is working consistently every time, thank you!

Your welcome .

#2977 5 years ago
Quoted from javagrind888:

I zip tied the coil, but that didn't seem to do it. I think my problem is that the auto launch is too loose, too much space between the right clamp and the launcher. I can't seem to find a washer that's thin enough. Hitting the hardware stores today. Am I on the right track?

Mine needs that washer too but it is firing perfect so I did not add it yet. Did you move the whole assembly to right as far as it can go? Then up the power to 32 in the settings.

#2981 5 years ago

Let me know if the washer fixes it.

#3050 5 years ago
Quoted from JoinTheCirqus:

Not trying to go all biblical here, but it’d be nice if they stayed away from using 666 in some sort of “award” sequence.

They are showing 6 sixes representing the 6 multiballs you have running. Nothing biblical about it unless you let it be.

#3084 5 years ago

I am pretty sure pirates was part of IFPA North American Pinball Championships. Does anyone have a link to a video of pirates being played?

#3105 5 years ago
Quoted from javagrind888:

It is really good, but not quite there. I still walk away from the machine with the original song in my head. Wonder why there's not a pinbrowser type program for JJ's.

I wonder if you hook up a keyboard to the motherboard and boot directly into linux then change some sound files from their. Some one with some linux knowledge might be able to pull that off.

#3122 5 years ago
Quoted from darkryder:

This is what I was planning to do. Should work fine and easily reversible

Their is a rod machined into the plate that screws into the head of the cab. You would have to cut that rod off of the plate to make that work.

#3173 5 years ago
Quoted from evh347:

How did you get that post (w/ rubber) out at the Tortuga/Mystery hole? Punch?

You need a 1/4 inch deep socket I think some one correct me if I am wrong because I need to tighten my post.

#3354 5 years ago
Quoted from Yelobird:

Sorry asked the wrong guy.... If you have time can you please show a picture of the Pinstadium results on your game here or in the PS thread. Been considering it just not sure if they are a must. Thanks!!!

I would like to see some pics or video as well. I think it would just be worth it to get ride of those spot lights that shine onto backbox monitor.

Quoted from NickBuffaloPinball:

I'm also having a problem with Tortuga kick-out consistency. Here's the odd thing: I probably have like 400 games on it, and it JUST started to become inconsistent the other day.
Please note that my bracket becomes loose like other people's, but even when it was loose (since day one pretty much), it was still shooting it out fine. Whether it's tight or loose, it's just now become inconsistent. So this tells me that there's something else going on.

Loosen the bracket turn it towards the left flipper as far as it will go tighten back down then you will be good to go.

#3852 5 years ago
Quoted from Burley9043:

Yes, many great shots and it is a smooth shooter. I find the upper playfield challenging, never tedious. I think the sound is great and fits perfectly with the game. Jack Danger is suppose to stream the game this afternoon at 5PM CST on Twitch with Eric and the design team. Probably worth watching.[quoted image]

I wonder if this is still happening?

#3859 5 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

No idea.
I saw Eric posted on Facebook about 4pm CST and said two hours to go, which would be 6pm CST. Though they've always posted CST and the original posts said 5pm CST.

The green wire on the back of the right opto on the the upper playfield broke off.(wow that is a mouthful I am assuming their is no way to fix this except for getting a new opto? I am not even sure how it is wired up. Does the opto plug into a board under the upper playfield or underneath the main playfield? Does anybuddy know were I can buy this opto? I am sure JJP will send me one but I would like to have some spares.

My game out of the box last nite is still not fixed. Working with jjp now...very frustrating to deal with alot of out of the box issues. Jjp has been great like usual and eventually i am sure it will work correctly. Map disc not working, chest wont eject balls so game goes in ball search,no start button light and some other small stuff. I am keeping the faith and hoping jjp qc improves

If the map disc is not working and the start light is not working I am guessing the shaker motor and the topper is not lighting up as well. If so that means the
F713 fuse is blown.

You have to get into the back box to check it out. You will see a red led light next to most of the fuses except for the one that I suspect is blown.
