Doh! I did this on my first machine. Been ok so far but at least it’s a cheap part.
Thanks for the writeup! There are at least 3 different faults around this button that I know of so far:
1. The shaft itself binding in the sleeve
2. The button extending in between the switch and getting stuck, fixed by bending the switch
3. The button having a burr that binds in the button housing, which you have documented excellently
I’ve also been made aware of another fault with this button by imagamejunky - the button plunger has a flared end to keep it from popping out. This gets worn over time and the button starts riding higher and higher until it eventually pops out.
Honestly this button seems to be a crappy part in general. I’m thinking I will just find a replacement clear leaf button.
