Quoted from Axl:

if you look in the manual you should get a clear idea on how it works, and how it is put together.

Looked at it a lot. Just wanted to see it in action so I can get a better understanding. It's all good, no worries.

Quoted from zaphX:

I have the opto of the right spinner of the pearl to replace (this time it is indeed the opto ) because a wire is cut flush. I also have the opto "pearl motor outer" and "pearl motor inner" apparently the last two are accessible by dismantling the Pearl ... I spend my life maintaining this machine .. When I bought the I said to myself that I will keep it for a while and sell it for another machine. I get bored quite quickly in general because I play a lot. I changed my mind, there will be this one and another that I will run. Do not sell it you will regret it .. The multiball are at the top, I love it. Maybe the fact that it's a wide tray gives more volume to the multiball than a standard tray I don't know? I hope it won't be JJP's last wide set. I am a little apprehensive about GNR for that.

I did some maintenance on my POTC - adjusted Tortuga, changed the rubbers in chapter select - and fell in love with it again after playing it.
I was considering selling it but I don't know now. There is such a rush working on building the 6 MB stack!
I wonder why everyone loves the 6MB POTC stack and whines "too many multiballs" for the 4MB stack on Guns?

Funny timing as I played Pirates again for the first time in a while and fell in love all over again too!

I think I remember a quote from you at one point and it really resonated with me. It was something along the lines of “it will likely be easier to earn the $ than find a POTC again.” Is that close or am I completely making that up?

For me, I am confident that JJP will be giving us the long awaited code update. After that, I suspect there will be another surge in selling/demand and at that point, I will make my decision as the code will likely be done. With that said, I know I would immediately regret selling it, and then likely regret it even more once that update comes.

Yep that was me. I have to be REALLY SURE I'm ready to say goodbye to this game before I sell it.

#17057 3 years ago

Well said, Galooch and @zaphx. I had a Wonka hiatus from POTC while I was waiting for myself to get a mini flipper rubber (laziness). Sorted the flipper, played a few games, and now I'm right back into it! What a game. Looking forward (hopefully) to the new code.

#17058 3 years ago

Yeah this game is never leaving

I would love to get even the tiniest bit of confirmation. I’ve gone through these exact same emotions 2 or 3 times now. Even today we had a discussion about selling. I need to buy my wife a new car… I play the game maybe once every 2 weeks. But…

Anyone have a suggestion where to get a set of LE decals. Regular or radcal? Or if this is even possible at this point?

Thank you.

Quoted from Heater:

The ones on youtube are from pretty far back. I was hoping for something closer showing the mechanics.

None of us that own a CE are interested in someone replicating the topper, and potentially offering it for sale to SE and LE owners. Part of the reason the CE was so expensive is the exclusive topper that came with it, which is why Jack refused to allow it sold separately.

"Quoted from lhammer610:
Is there anyway to remove all the old photos?"

Quoted from LTG:

Factory reset.
LTG : )

I sort of tried that. With all the settings on it, I hesitated to go through the hassle. I tried the factory reset, but also backed it up. I then restored the backup and, of little surprise, the photos were restored also.

I doubt this will ever make it to the top of the software request list, but maybe delete the photos when the high scores are reset? It keeps reusing my same old photo when I get new high scores now. Not a big deal, but I like to be a bit more excited now when the photo is taken.

Why did you change the rubbers? I have not had to do any of that in mine. I need to adjust the ramp to/from Black Pearl because the ball hangs up. And the stickers on the 2X, 3X... are getting worn off. I also had to adjust Tortuga. No other issues.

I installed the check mod. Every time it opens, I laugh. Greatest mod ever for me.

Zaphx likely has several Thousand plays on his game so general maintenance.

The chapter select rubbers wear to the point the ball will drop SDTM on chapter start. I recommend keeping lots on hand.

Generally a true statement, though this machine is somewhere around 1000. I did put thousands on two LEs before getting this CE.

Lol! First you flatter me. There is no way in hell I could make something that would be worthy of being sold. Second, I never said I was going to make them to sell. I was simply looking at what LTG posted with the bottle and model and thought it might be fun to make something out it for myself. But apparently I have treaded into the Devil's Triangle and sacred ground. I will ask no further

As a LE owner, feel free to keep paddling lol.

Ironically, most of the current LE owners paid more than the original CE buyers.

Added these nice flipper mods. Matches the CE pretty well, any ideas on a good color for the rubbers?

Anybody have a set of radcals for the le backbox or front they would sell?

Probably a long shot.

Thanks!

#17090 2 years ago

I would love an extra set of ramps to hoard if anyone had a set they would be willing to sell..

#17091 2 years ago

If anyone is selling radcals or standard art, ramps, upper playfield, ship parts, back glass, etc - I’ll buy any or all

Quoted from zaphX:

So changing those rubbers will fix that?

I always hit both flippers simultaneously when the canon fires. If let the ball sit on the pin lock, it almost always drops SDTM.

I thought there was not a fix for that, other than holding down the flippers while it was still bouncing around a bit and hope that the ball bounces on exit.

Do you use a certain brand / type of rubber? Silicon?

I thought I had a lot of plays......

Quoted from lhammer610:

This is what I always do too. It is muscle memory now so I actually forgot there was still was a SDTM problem coming out of the chapter select area if you you don’t release the ball early.

This is yet another thing that I think JJP could fix in the next release; it’s an obvious issue and should at least have a short ball save if you’re not already in a multiball

It fixed it for me. The front edge of the rubber wears down, the ball starts to slip a little further than it should, and it starts SDTMing. Fresh rubber (I use Titans) fixes it until it wears down again.

Some people have put a thick post sleeve on there but I don't like changing the design intent.

This is the mod paynemic and I developed to correct the issue. Doesn’t affect gameplay otherwise and is easily removed if you decide you don’t like it: https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1305-trumpanche-mods/04977-gate-at-world-s-end-mod-for-jjp-potc
