My advice is don't do a playfield protector. That's a major pita to install, and then make adjustments for! I'd rather have dimples than do that again. If you are talking strategy, there are some great streams out there worth watching. If talking mods, this is the right place and the offshoots from it. If troubleshooting, well the other thread is excellent for that.

Also just purchased the dauntless mod. Will be installing chest mod over the next week. People say that is one of the best mods out there.
So far i love this game. Hope you do too.

Just watched this video. My door is definitely not going down all the way for sure. Any fixes for this?

Make sure the chest is supposed to be in the down position. I forget which is which off hand but the motor has a switch. So set it and then turn off power.
Underneath the pf, loosen the black connector that attaches to the long wire stem. Now put the pf back down. The chest door should be closed. Put some blue painters tape on it to hold it closed. Now lift the pf again and re-tighten the connector to the wire stem. This secures it in just the right position so the down position is with the door closed.

Getting a ton of stuff from mod couple soon - and the family is just loving this pin (again). I can't believe I ever sold it the first time, it's gonna be bolted to the floor this time.

Holy sh!t I love playing this game. Just took Henry Turner from the bottom to the top with 6 mil. During the game I know I saw some kind of a scoring bug during the Fountain of Youth Wizard Mode during this game. I had 6x playfield going during it and had hit all the major shots for the first round. I was way into the wizard mode and hit a lit Tia Dalma Bayou shot and the screen showed a 22,222,227,xxx jackpot. I only looked up to see how much it was because I thought it was going to be big, but I didn't think it was going to be that big. It didn't give me those points though because I ended up with 6 mil for the game.
Also, one question about Don't Betray The Compass wizard mode, what the hell do you do in that? I had hit all the shots for the first round I thought and was progressing nicely. I thought I was way into the mode when I hit a shot and it ended it and my mode total was only 200k even. I play this mode so rarely I still am up in the air on it. The screen shows all the shots on top of the compass image and it looks like hitting the 9 pieces of 8 shots are what you want to do at first. I remember though having that wizard mode going one time in the past and hitting the map shot first shot and it ended the mode and my mode total was only 50k. Anyone know the strategy here?

My issue is that in the 'closed' position the door is only about half shut and blocks the standup to the right from shots from the left BP flipper.

I think it just comes down to adjusting it to a spot you can live with. The adjustment is pretty straightforward. Take the left side of the roof off the Pearl by unscrewing the three nuts at the back of the roof and then tinker with the bend of the metal tab and spring that connect to the door. That metal tab is similar in function to the chest lock opening in that it gets pulled & released by the coil to open and close the door.

Finally got all 6 multiballs going at the same time last night. Of course in my true fashion, I quickly drained shortly after getting it going . Damn this game is fun! There really aren't many games on the same level as JJPPOTC...

The cannon door does not close entirely, it only goes down about a half inch, just enough to stop the ball from entering.

Due to the forced quarantine I decided to finally install the Treasure chest open/close mod. TBH I put it off for months as it sat on my workbench. Why I waited this long I'm not sure? Possibly was a little intimidated...Anyway, I'm not a huge mod guy, but really enjoy this one. Very well designed and pretty easy to install all things considered. High marks for this one! Very much worth it in my opinion. If you're putting this off...take a shot. You will be pleased.

The kraken mod does that. You can't see it from normal viewing angle but I took the pic from the side so you can see it.

The holes in the plastic go on the two screws I circled in this picture. I’m not 100% sure, but I think I remember loosening the chest and lifting the chest bracket slightly off that middle nut to get in in and out of there. Had to loosen the screw holding the chest to the playfield to do it also.

Great tip, thanks! I'll definitely get a set. I really like Tilt Graphics wood ones as well, but these are excellent.
Got some cliffys on the way for my LE. Canon mod should arrive monday too. Once the chest mod is back in stock I'll order that too.
