Quoted from Shapeshifter:Co-incidence that they are in the SAME business park as Stern????!
Elk Grove Village is the largest business park in the country, so likely good incentives as much as anything.

Quoted from yancy:They did it for the hot dogs.
One word that many across the country know, Portillo's.
chicago_jack (resized).jpgQuoted from wesman:Isn't that kinda the McDonald's of Chicago though? As in readily available but not the best.
I did a pretty determined hot dog tour a few years back, and liked the place, but it definitely felt more chain than the best secret little spot or example of Italian Beef's and Chicago Dogs in town....
Kinda like Lou Malnati's.
It is a 'comfort' place for many knowing what to expect and it is good. But there are definitely other places to checkout, everyone definitely has their own favorite. Wolfy's, Gene and Judes, Murphy's, Superdawg, the list is quite long and many are very good. Jack will have time to check them all out, maybe he can start his own ranking of where he goes.
Quoted from DanDanDAN:No one mentioned Mr Beef in this thread?
Shame on all of you!
Or Johnnie's. If the thread goes to Chicago beef, hot dog, and pizza locations, 10K posts by Christmas.
Quoted from wesman:Yeah...... Can we get back to Chicago's good eating spots instead???
Over in Willowbrook, right off the interstate you have Dell Rhea's Chicken Basket. It is located on what was the original Route 66 and on the U.S. National Register of Historical Places. It isn't that far from Elk Grove Village and worth the drive. And if you like neon, the original sign was restored a few years ago and looks great.

You are reading it wrong.
Jersey Jack Pinball is moving to Chicago. A move that will unite Jersey Jack Pinball New Jersey and Jersey Jack Pinball Chicago into one place. This move has absolutely nothing to do with Stern Pinball. With the possible exception of some of the craziest shit I've ever read here on Pinside on one thread.
LTG : )
So are you working for Stern now?
Quoted from jimwe5t:Heavy in pinball terms usually means outdated, old tech and very cumbersome. Stern has the weight balance figured out.
That’s why Pat has always refused to make widebody anything. He gets it and understands why no modern company makes that albatross of a design any longer. The ball meanders all over the play field on a widebody, along with all the other physic issues constantly happening. The math on pinball field design was done for a reason and settled on the standard size play field we have now for goods reasons. Just like all sport fields have been determined to be optimal for their respective games.
Twilight Zone.
Quoted from jimwe5t:Twilight Zone - mechanical issues galore. Many locations got tired of trying to keep them in service. Widebody did not serve that machine well. Standard body could have been sooooo much better, but we will never know. Look at JJP machines on location. Mostly out of service much of the time. Ask any operator the nightmare they are to maintain. Stern’s keep on truckin all the time on location. JJP fanatics hate to hear this.
Again, this move for JJP is going to hopefully be a new beginning and good times for JJP in most all aspects. New owners are getting it on the right track I hope. We need for it to be good competition for Stern. Makes them better too!
I was just going back to Pat's development of a widebody machine. Now George made a widebody version of The Addams Family going the other direction of your TZ suggestion.
Quoted from KingPinGames:what if... "they just change the company to JJP instead of Jersey Jack Pinabll?"
curious, curious...
King Games Pinball (KGP), twisting around something already out there....
Quoted from Hazoff:I think its a good move for JJP but I have to ask, who gives a flying fuck where they make their pins? Or even more ridiculous is what Jack will call himself.
There is a rumor he is merging with another Jack and is going to reinvent himself...
