Pirates of the Caribbean (LE)
Jersey Jack, 2018Whilst I don't like the theme (film and actors - pirates are fine), the game looks incredible ... and what a first effort from Eric Meunier. Someone who's well under half the age of most designers in pinball.
The new way of presenting stacking modes on screen is really good. If possible, it would be great if something similarly intuitive could be added to WOZ and Hobbit (not sure it'd fit into DI's interactive backdrop). Particularly WOZ.
Got to watch the first 30 minutes or so last night at home. Amazing job explaining the game guys, and thank you. I think how you have rolled the game out giving hands-on impression and using the telestrator was great. Hope that you make these a semi-regular event.

There is a lot in the game, but we tried to make each piece as simple and understandable as we could. That way you will hopefully be able to learn it all pretty quickly then be mulling over all the possible strategy options that are available to you.
And hopefully there are multiple paths to success, not one or two "only ways to play the game." That's the real goal.
To some extent, you will HAVE to have multiple paths to success since in a multiplayer game you are not guaranteed to get your character of choice if someone beats you to it.
thanks Keith.....I just hope that Hobbit will get polished. I played a game last night. I only have 89 plays on the game....not all games played through 5 balls, and I have no idea what I'm doing.
Callouts on what to hit would be great as some info is on the screen but when you have multiple balls going it's hard to look at the screens.

So the chapters are like modes right? What do you do after you have started a chapter? Can you finish a chapter?
Edit: OK, I just watched some more. So it seems that all the chapters (modes) are basically the same. You start a chapter and it shows you a brief clip from a scene in the movie. Then the characters relating to that scene of the movie are displayed along the top of the screen. At the same time a watch drops down indicating the amount of time you have to complete the chapter. If you collect all the characters (various shots around the playfield), you complete the chapter. I guess completing chapters helps you work towards something else in the game?
Edit 2: OK, I just read Eskaybee's post above again. You need to complete 5 chapters of one specific movie and play that movie's multiball to qualify it's wizard mode. So that means the easiest way to get to a wizard mode would be to hit the one of the skull shots to qualify a chapter (let's say the green one which corresponds to movie 2), shoot the chapter start shot (to the right of the chest), complete the chapter (by collecting the characters shown at the top of the screen), shoot the green skull shot again and repeat this 4 more times. Then you need to play the movie 2 multiball by locking balls in the chest and you should be at the movie 2 wizard mode. Am I right?
Every Stream shows how great and awesome this game could be. Layout, toys, Music and animation quality are awesome and the rules are complex and are bringing fun. What I still think is missing are Show Elements, more Choreography. There is nothing when you sink a ship, there is only a small message when you complete a mode. And the Movie MBs are all looking the same. It still reminds me of the Animations of a Slot machine. Beautiful but there is no thrill and suspense. But I hope and believe this things will come.

The slot machine animations is a interesting analogy. Agree that it looks awesome but something does seem missing yet and I think you may be on to it. Hopefully it gets polished a bit more!
One item that really stands out as annoying/irritating, there is a repetitive sound clip that they just use way too much.
But really after watching these streams I can't wait for this game to get built. I now want one. The Pirate theme is great, it's anarchic fun and that's great for a pinball game. The tortuga multiball with all the rum bottles reminds me of a german band I like: Mr. Hurley & the Pulveraffen.
i just watched about ten minutes of the video. the game looks great.much better than i expected based on another pirate game.
i'm surprised there's not more talk of it on pinside.

There was a ton of chatter 5 months ago when it was announced. Not sure what else anyone can say at this point, looks nice, shoots good, deep code etc....
This is the down side when it takes so long to get them out, loses a little steam.
I’m sure it will pick up when they start hitting the street.
All the hype lately seems to be Iron Maiden!
Man, I wish these were shipping now/soon. Game looks so good IMO.
I didn't watch too much of last nights stream but a couple concerns I have and hopefully are getting addressed are:
1. Seems to be a lot of rejects when shooting the open chest lock shot.
2. Spinning disk seems to stutter step a round periodically as if it's binding.
Otherwise, this thing looks stellar. Hoping I can budget for it cause not many other games out there in my mortal price range excite me.
These streams are building excitement. KEF's 1.9M game is going to be difficult to pass. If we keep getting videos and they keep on explaining rules, revealing more pieces of code and showing a/v effects, this seems like a great way to build interest and keep momentum. In spite of it taking awhile to develop and begin shipping, the game has come a long way and it is close to launch. By June they should be coming out in numbers.
I have gone from considering one to wanting one. The main question now is whether to hold out a year in hopes of saving money on a used one and start with final code or to get a new one sooner when available.
I agree 100 percent . Maybe they have focused on getting code for launch which is amazing and very deep . The choreography may come later with updates .

Wowza - great video! People at TPF will be enjoying these POTC's if they have the latest code. Two wizard modes programmed. But JJP programmers shoot a mean pinball!!
We're setting up to do an impromptu Friday stream since we need to test out some code now that we've released it. 
Anyway, stop on by if you've got the time. We'll just be playing, bantering, and wishing we were in Texas.
POTC looks like another home run for JJP. Other than DI, I have the others and I have ordered a POTC LE. I opted out of DI (couldn't get the theme and a POTC CE because of all of the barnacles and starfish that make it look gaudy). So, it's a 'pirates life le' for me. I am anxious for its' arrival but I am a bit worried that it not be 'rushed'. Given all of the problems with WOZ pre 2.0 and TH (ramps, etc.) and reading the forum posts for DI issues (minor though they may be), there is some cause for concern. I avoided all of the previous JJP problems by waiting to buy my games NIB in just the last few months. I guess I could stay on the sidelines to see what develops with POTC but '"me wants it" (apologies to LOTR fans); I just hope that I don't live to regret my decision to go for it now. Watching the JJP streams gives me some confidence that JJP has things 'under control' now and the launch of the 'Black Pearl' will be a successful one without 'stormy seas; we can always hope.

Things are coming along JJP engineering team! I hope we were able to give a little insight from the Museum of Pinball and our short two weeks with the two prototypes. It's sad to see our second PTOC leave next week but excited to see this pin mature and soon be released. We'll monitor progress here while wearing our JJP PTOC shirts and a finger on the trigger to buy one.
