They want to sell Hobbits. Cool video meant to promote Hobbit is released while preorder games are finishing and Black Arrow games, for which there can be no preorders other than any since Expo, are preparing to hit the line. Dialed In, while getting more attention from potential customers at the moment, is still months from the production line.
Huh. You're right, it makes no sense.
Absolutely. JJP prices are much more likely to be paid by non pinside folks. We used to have people select a new Stern title for their game room for no better reason than it fit the theme of the room or matched the color of the pool table felt. I'm thinking of Sharkey's here but the principle absolutely applies.
Hobbit versions - Smaug is NLA so all you can order at the moment are the standard, limited edition and black arrow.
The confusing thing is the RADCALS which are thicker cabinet decals you can order with different artwork on them.
Very few standards have been ordered since the outset and black arrow was just announced at Expo.
Basically the LE has sold and is selling the best followed by Smaug Gold which was only available for a limited time. Black Arrow has different cabinet art and black metal but it is not hammer finish. Black pinballs too. There was a sample at Expo sitting next to an LE and I much preferred the LE look but to each his own.
